I think its very possible but it is a matter of devs bothering to do that. Only viable way to do that really is dual boot and thats always hard, why buy an android phone only to completely replace the OS.... but then again tegra has always had problems so maybe there will be a compatibility issue there.

I guess for the o2x are more roms available. Its a realy nice phone actually!

O2X for now.
Samsung phones have advantage as they release some source codes.
The best is to check cyanogen's website, if there is a cyanogen the phone is usually well supported by devs.
We have cyanogen for arc its just complications thats all
If I get LG o2x all I need to do is root then cmw then put a Rom on is it that easy or have u got to open bootloader or any thing
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
I thought xperia arc's cyanogen was ported by someone else?
Locked bootloader is a bad idea for a flasholic
For Optimus Black, it is still fairly new; but the bootloader isn't locked so it shouldn't have major issues.
Arc -> Black looks like a major downgrade to me
STAY AWAY FROM LG !!
If you are flashaholic, HTC is the way. Or Samsung. Or anything else...
DO NOT BUY LG!
Why not? I think that if you do want to flash different ROM's, then LG O2X is a great phone. It's the stock rom that's causing trouble.

i recommend you to try the lg optimus 2x. is by two time much powerful and open to the development then lg Black.
Is LG really that bad I like HTC alot coming from dhd but just fancy a change
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
And wont the o2x be outdated and old soon its been out a while and dont want to buy if development just slows to a holt
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
Just go and try it, my LG is the best phone i ever had (O2X)..
Ive had an LG Renoir too, that was my 2nd best i think..
I think O2X is the best because tegra2 inside

Compared to Black it is "newer", if you think about the hardware. If you are thinking of release-date, Black is newer - but not on the inside.
Yea I was thinking more the hardware side of Things

Hey dudes i am planning to exchange my hd7 with mango custom rom(2 month old phone) with an lg optimus 2x (1 month old) by paying some extra bucks of about 80 dollars( 4000 indian rupees ). Do i should do that? the reason is purely hardware and the plentiful apps availability for android. Though i love hd7, i need some more freedom, which windows never allowed me.
Please post your opinion.

We wont get ICS! This phone is great other than the lack of support from LGs technical department! Phone works very well on a custom rom!

Rusty is 100% correct, with a custom ROM the O2X is superb.

So well dudes, i like custom rom, my wildfire runs on cm7 latest nightly. But what about installing it? Is it hard, i mean crackikng boot loader/ security etc? And what about cm7 on 2x, is it nice or gives hell of problems?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
It's as easy to install as it is on the Blade, pretty much everything is functional bar FM radio.
Well i am yet to flash my Rom but the stock sucks..and have heard the custom Rom are good and with custom kernels like neoblaze u can overclock ur device as well.... dunno how hd7 is..never used it..

i was at a store today and i was able to use the samsung galaxy nexus for quite a while.. i was thinking of getting it next month but i was quite disappointed after playin with it.. my optmus 2x is much faster on ics! the only thing i loved about it was its screen... it was like.. whoa!! the perfect screen.. but even its launcher was too laggy :/ scrolling from apps to widgets screen made the phone look sooo slow.. what is your opinion on it?? should i get one of these or better avoid them?

Go fr it...nexus series has a great dev support..
2X devs are also good, but they are few in no.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
My opinion is: do not judge the phone by how it behaves on the stock rom
hmmm i guess you are both right.. but isnt it strange that it is so crap out of the box?? if someone isnt in the modding trick he will be crying for the (lots of) money he gave for it.. and its the latest google official phone which should be flying while all the rest phones are walking..

Hello folks. I have been comparing the two devices and they seem to be pretty much identical hardware and software wise. The only difference being the screen resolution and format. They run on the same SoC , same camera modules , I imagine same modem too. Any development done for the 4x should be pretty easy to port over to the p895 , similar to what happened with the xperia X10mini and X8 ( The only difference between the two was the screen resolution. The two phones shared a subforum , resources and dev's). Hopefully this thread grabs the attention of others interested in the p895 and reveals a possible cooperation between users of both devices. I will look more into this after I get my phone back from service.
P895 have 4G LTE
Sorry about my bad English
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
No they don't. I have one. It is the same device as the 4X. That is probably the Verizon version or some Korean only model. The international one uses the Tegra 3 SoC and has no 4G.
The xperia x8 was my phone before this. Damm life was easy back then(atleast when it comes to the bootloader)

yep, but we've had oc, uv,ext3/4-support,dualtouch, cwm, custom roms even with locked bootloaders
so why not here too? we 'just' need a skilled dev to work on it
We have a "skilled" dev to work on it. BUT, it would not harm if we had 50 skilled devs or even some help from LG to work on it. I mean, the 4X was never sold in massive quantities like the s3
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Both the Vu p895 and 4X didn't sell as much as other phones. Maybe it would be for the best to officially add the Vu p895 to the current subforum , more attention can't possibly hurt.

I'm really sad because i can't find the specified forum thats explore the P895.
Or maybe the custom rom, etc from 4xhd could be applied on p895?
Let me know it!

Well, yesterday I lost my LG O2X , could someone recommend me which phone to buy to replace it? among the options I have are: Samsung Galaxy S2 (2011) or Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (2012), I have no more budget right now, thanks.
S3 mini is not worth it, has lesser hardware than the S2. Even if lots of people say "LG never again" I'd suggest the p930. It's pretty cheap and very powerful, and it has official and stable cyanogen mod support.
If you can save a bit more you could go for the Xperia S or Motorola droid RAZR (which is water/dust/hit proof).
