[Q] How to remove the LockScreen? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to completely remove Lockscreen? I use the "No lock" application, but I'd rather just not have Lockscreen in general.

Menu/settings/Location and security/set screen lock/None -> OK, done.
Tips for you:
- Download and setup applications ShakeOff - shake your hand to lock the phone.

Unfortunately does not work. All the time when I turn my phone is necessary to shift the belt "unlock".

Stop lockscreen password?

Hi there,
I was just wondering if it was possible to change when the lockscreen password screen comes up? I want the password protection to show ONLY when my phone turns on, and not when i'm simply awakening my phone. I find it quite annoying.
Anybody know if this is possible through a hack or something? I'm using an unlocked Hero running VillainROM 10.
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Search the market for what exactly? :S I've searched a bit... found loads of alternate lockscreens. But I haven't found an app that will disable the native lockscreen password, but keep it for when the phone boots up.
there is one, sorry i cant rememeber the name, that puts it on a timer. Just search lock and go through them...

okay my bad I was wrong, it isnt working. what settings did you use? Mine was working, but it also stopped the password protection at the startup of the phone too - which isnt good !
i cant remember, i stopped using it now, because i dont use a password at all, just threaten people who pick up my phone.
I don't suppose anyone else has looked into this? I'm also in the same boat, I really just want something to protect startup.

Removing the music bar and power settings from the top slider (notification bar)

Recieved my P990 yesterday. But I cannot seem to find the right application to remove to ditch the music bar and power settings from the notification panel.
Already removed the music application etc. (trough titanium backup with root)
Does anyone know what the application is called that shows this. Or is it in the rom and can't it be removed. (which mean I have to put the music app back to make it work and ditch winamp)
Open the musicapp and open the settings, there you van disable the player in the notification bar.
That only works if you didn't remove of freezed the music app. Unfreeze, deselect the option, the musicbar is gone. Freeze or remove the app, the musicbar is there again. I've tried it many times...

Music bar is managed by the framework.
It is on by default at boot but can be turned off by the Music app. If you remove the Music app it never gets told to "turn off".
Actually, in the framework it appears really easy to totally remove this functionality but will require a patch that I've not worked on yet, and it may require to remove the actual Music app to prevent force closes.
I might have a play with that this weekend.

There's no option to turn them off as far as I can tell but I think I can also remove that permanently... I'll look at that too.
Okay, so don't try and do this.
I just bricked my phone.
I'll need to wait for a mod/update or return it. Back to my Nexus One for the weekend it seems.

No problems, have a Nexus One to go back to which is sweet.
Don't (try to) replace framework-res.apk, that's what I learned...
How the hell do you brick a phone by replacing an apk? A brick is what the word suggests; A brick, paperweight etc. Surely you could replace the apk with ADB?

It's a paperweight.
I need a nv flash to replace the system.img.
The framework fails to load and a reset command is issued by the system as soon as it boots. I have adb access for less than 3 seconds before the phone restarts and can not issue a stop command before the reset command.
It's not that uncommon really.

Can't you issue the adb command and it will wait for the device to boot fully and then stop before the reset? Unless you probably already tried it. Best of luck man!

I want to know the exact same. Looked around in secret menu but there was no fix for it. Anybody else have any idea? The music app is annoying since it always seems to start up and sit in memory for no reason

[Q] How to disable popup warning AFTER charging?

Hi,
I recently got a wireless charging receiver for the phone and now I get this annoying popup which says to close the micro usb properly to prevent water damage.
This happens also sometimes during charging in the middle of the night.
Can anyone tell me how to disable the popup? To make it clearer, it is not the flashing text that appears when the phone is connected to the charger. ( this can be disabled via xposed module)
The one I am talking about is more like a text with a white background picture.
"for protection against water damage firmly seal the charging cover before use"
Anyone else with the "problem" ?
I am on NEE-I9295XXUBMK2.
Thanks for the help in advance.
[edit]
this also happens when I disconnect the device from USB.

I second that!
I have found battery_cover_notice.xml in systemui\res\layout
There is an battery_cover_notice_image and an battery_cover_notice_message
The Pic is help_img_usb.png in folder systemui\res\drawable-hdpi
Now you can try and delete the battery_cover_notice.xml from the SystemUI

I tried and it worked ( at least the popup doesn't appear anymore) but I do not have a notification area at the top anymore. No clock, Signal or anything.
Perhaps it's because of the odex file? Didn't touch that.
I will try it again. Might be, I did something wrong.....
Thanks
okay thanks for feedback...
I will investigate this....
So is there no non-root way of disabling this?

I am.
No solution found so far.
Only I remember - that started after OTA update from Samsung in later 2013.
On original software I didn't have such warning.
Before and after is 4.2.2 Android, I didn't notice any changes, so I am lookiing for old firmware to download...
p.s. I also have wireless charger from "indiegogo"

Cloud it be that this notice is a toast with a custom theme? You could check it with my app EnhancedToast, and hide it if it is a toast. Enable logging in the app and watch it.And yes, root is required for Xposed. Btw, the Google edition don't show it at all

^Mostly what I was going to say, so thanks.
You should check EnhancedToast if you can, and you could always switch ROM's - I'm loving the CM 10.2 ROM, which doesn't have the warning, and offers a lot of other advantages. If a notification comes up in the bar, long-press it and see if comes up with the "app info" button - it could be run through some sort of stock app that you could disable or uninstall altogether.
Hi everyone! I'm new on the forum and in smartphones as well. Rooted GT-i9252 last week. Starting to develop app in future.

Any good source to learn more of ROMs? What do I lose if I dump the original, what do I get with some other ROM?
How should I backup? Meaning there's lot's of data:
- contacts and messaging and that stuff
- pictures, music, videos etc
- OS (?)
- ROM
- Apps (downloaded and system)
Maybe someone could explain the best practice to backup ROM,OS and apps.
Thanks in advance, Kaptah.

What method of rooting your phone did you use? They are not the same thing, but it is possible to do them both at the one time. If everything looks different, then yes, you would have changed your ROM while rooting.

This problem appeared/reappeared when i upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 (ML2)
After rooting ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690133 )
and disabling KNOXagent it still gives this warning, which it did not do after the 4.2.2 Active Root.
This is merely an annoyance but if someone figures out a quick way to disable it that would be grand.
i have this issue too. cant wait for a fix for this. just updated to 4.3 a few days ago and having to tap the bubble everytime is just annoying. why the hell would they add these rediculous notifications? its not like att or samsung will stand behind the "waterproof" claim anyway..... water damage weather the door is open or closed means your screwed no matter what.
I've personally tried using the "EnhancedToast" module for xposed and the prompts do not register as toast events. It has to be something else.

I think there has to be a way to remove it completely. on Wanam Xposed (module for Samsung devices) there's an option to remove it. I don't usually mind the button but this positioning is madness.
I agree with the OP, it's the worst place for the emergency call.

I think its a legal requirement in some countries to have an emergency call button on the lockscreen. However, there will be a way of doing it.
Please send me a copy of your Home.apk and settings.apk I will see if I can have a look for you

YES! Glad I found this thread as it was driving me nuts. Turning "Block Status Bar" in Ceberus did the trick.
