It looks like nothing has been selected because the check doesn't show up but it works, just a compatibility issue with cupcake i guess

Ok thanks. That was the problem. It looked to me that none of it was selected. so i didnt know if it was chosen or not.
I am working on a Cupcake compatible UI refresh. Unfortunately, Cupcake mangled the CheckedTextView that I am using for all of my lists. Rewriting and including custom color scheme support. Should only be a few days. But yes, it should still work, if you can get around the non-visibility of the selection indicator (checkmark).

Nice! Glad to hear that, It's not a major deal, i've gotten used to it so I can hold out for a bit
Just out of curiosity, how much control over colors do y'all want.
I can give very fine-grained control if you need it, otherwise I can do a basic background/foreground selection. Do you want to be able to set active tab/inactive tab, text / other foreground, etc... or something like was done for fummod (I think) in the other thread?
i like having my colors match my themes, which is why i like chompsms and the color selector they have. if it is too much work though, just like 3 or 4 basic colors i guess. i can live with the current color scheme also, i am easily pleased
Well, I'll certainly let you pick any color you want it's just a matter of how much control over specific UI Elements you want. Want buttons one color, tabs another, text black on buttons but white on tabs. that sort of stuff. If there was some sort of "theme editor" like the XML theme definitions in apps that would be slick for a lot of purposes... I'll check out ChompSMS to see what they are doing there.
one color scheme for everything would be fine for me. just make the tabs the same color as search results and just make the background for the search results match text in the tabs, just flipping the colors.....if that makes sense, just basic would be fine by me. i just like having some form of control over it, even if it is just the text i can change thats cool also, the black background doesn't bother me so much.
hello everybody, i just flashed my ba with the wm 6,1+manila from d-two.
everithing works fine but i want to change the popup keyboard to one that i can use with my fingers.
also my eyes are very bad so i need everithing bigger, the icons, the text under the icons all the letters.
i tried sk tools but it doesnt change everithing.
i would need everiting a lot bigger, lets say as big so it just fits the screen, including the popup menus, the start list and everithing else.
is there a way?
thanks a lot
you cannot change the standard soft keyboard in that way, you need to install another soft keyboard. you find several ones in the "read first" link in my signature, they are all finger friendly, small in size and free, also there are screenshots provided which give you a good feeling of the general looks and feel of it.
thx a lot, but now i still have the prob that the device is nearly unreadable for my eyes, so i still have to make everithing bigger and with more kontrast, lets say black background, bigger fonts and white fonts....
any suggestions?

Is there any way to change the colors/look of the dialer/phone pad screen ?
My wife hates the gray screen and buttons...
Android 2.1 (mine) and 2.2 (hers)

You might want to try out an app called Dialer One, its a replacement dialer and is customizable. To what extent I am unsure but I know it has a little different appearance than normal.
Thanx... I will show it to her and hope she likes the abilities it has...
I like it some, but I do wish you could get rid of the gray button colors, etc

Try youlu address book if you want an iphoney style.
Modifying the application to your needs and likes is also a possibility.
Just sayin'.
Has anyone had success with the LDC Density app? My friend used it on his galaxy s it was pretty cool
I tried it and my phone just froze. Had to do a battery pull to fix it.
Yes, im rooted.
this has been answered multiple times in a few thread.
maybe if you tried searching you'd have an answer.
Froze on my rooted TB with Adrynalyne's Rom. Curious to see if anyone has this working.
Didn't work for me either. Just manually edited /system/build.prop to change it around. Messes with the look of the Sense Clock Widget, and certain skins for the SenseUI.

where in the build.prop do you edit the file?
nm found the line. it was obvious enough
FWIW 190 has been a good number for me. I was at 200 for awhile, set it at 190 today and it runs pretty well.
So I take it you aren't running Sense then? Because anything lower than 240 messed up the flip clock and some of the themes bar at the bottom.
I am sure I am not alone when I say this but does anybody know why the fonts on the screen are so massive? Was this phone originally intended for people with failing vision?
Why, with such a lot of real estate, doesn't htc squeeze in more info into the screen so that we lessen scrolling? Beats the hell out of me.... Its irritating to say the least. The net effect is that I have a bigger phone than the inc but I have exactly the same amount of info on the screen. I really do not see the point...
Rant over - now how do we lower font size and line spacing without messing everything up. Any easy fixes? In the uber z rom for the inc, gmichaelow made a zip that changed font sizes and line spacing to much lower levels without messing anything up. So its possible. LCD density is definitely not the answer.

I thought the exact same thing, my Droid has a higher resolution than the Thunderbolt (480x854 for OG Droid vs. 480x800 for Thunderbolt). Everything was blown up like crazy. I don't understand why they wouldn't have gone higher for a crisper look to rival the sleek look of the iPhone. There should be font packs out there, but I'm not sure where yet. Lowering my density to 190 definitely looks a lot better for everything but the notification bar icons. I'm going to look into smaller fonts as well, but for now, I'm happy with the lowered density, as it also makes things on screen look more crisp.
I've heard people talk about this in the past, but never fully understood what it did? Any explanation of what this actually does is appreciated. Thanks in advance
Just look at my picture compared to the stock setup. Mine is much crisper and smaller. It's like upping the resolution basically.

Thanks. Will try this. Hopefully it does not mess any widgets.

Lcd density just hangs on my phone. I'm running storm. Anybody else manage to get it working on that rom?

Does anyone have themes out for specific lowered densities? I have found that when I lower the density, the bottom dock (Where the phone, app tray and personalize button are) looks disconnected and not very nice. Only thing holding me back.
Is there a way to keep with the stock launcher and theme it so it fits or would I be forced to switch to another launcher to alleviate that problem?
going to give this a try and see how it goees
i tried 225, 220, 210 and would rather just leave it at stock 240 than have blurry status bar icons...that drives me nuts and makes the phone look like ****..the rest of the screen looked perfect at 225 for me tho..
I run at 190. I used to run at 140 on my dinc. I hate big resolutions. I don't use the sense launcher so I don't have aproblem with it getting messed up

Even manually editing the build prop (CHMOD 777) I'm unable to get the changes to take effect. Any advice?

Use root explorer, find build.prop, open it in a text editor, change the line that says LCD density. Save and exit, reboot. Done.

Yeah thats what I meant by manually changing the build prop.
Considering how popular PowerAMP is and how long people have went without customization for that program, I find it really strange that a version that supports custom widgets (and anything else that uses the PowerAMP API) has been out for weeks, but I have not seen any custom widgets.
Did I miss anything?
Good question. I've been wondering the same thing and I've searched every other day, no such luck.
Seems like a very popular app, surely some capable people greatly dislike the blue glow or gradients as much as I do... yet cannot deny the efficacy of the app itself!

I'm guessing because it just came out and maybe he hasn't released anything to any developers to help with making skins. You can already download the skins widget for it to get transparent.
Bumping this for more replies.
I tried to edit the apk for personal skinning a while back and for some reason could never get the recompiled apk to install. Every time I tried I would get something like "Package not properly signed". Use several different compiling and signing tools always with the same result. So I abandoned that idea and like you, waited for someone to do it for me.
Well, I was able to quickly modify the PowerAmp Widget Skin pack a little bit. I'm not experienced "theming" much of anything so I wasn't sure how to modify the font color.
I modified the background image of the widgets (4x1 and 4x2) to a half transparent black. I also changed the colors of the buttons to white.
If anyone can give me any tips as to which xml files I should edit for the font color, that would be most helpful! I can't try anything right now since I'm at work.
I used ZipSigner 2 to sign the apk, so it should hopefully be installable like normal from a file manager. I'm on a Droid X if it helps for reference.
I'd love a transparent widget and white characters to match the green wallpaper,...
I'll try to see how u did to change the app background...
