I follow the writup http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182940 and made the modification.
After that, the USB-tethering is working. But I have a hard time to get an IP address from the phone when using the wifi-hotspot. Do I need to install anything else or I might have done something incorrect?
Since I am not able to post in the development forum, hope you all experts will step in to help.
Thanks in advance.

PLEASE HELP ME,
i HAVE AN UNLOCKED SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE AND I WANT TO INSTALL THE LATEST UPDATE BUT CAN'T CONECT TO TE AT&T SERVER.
PLEASE HELP.
THANKS
1. There's one big thread for discussions regarding the update. Ask for help there?
2. Why are you typing in caps?
Reboot the phone make sure the application device manager is running. Then try again. AT&T says to remove the sim card and put it back in not sure if that would do much though.

Sorry for the Caps, I had it on and didn't realise untill the thread was posted.
I haven't been able to find a thread that helps my situation, if you know one, please let me know.

Not much of solution so far though.
I would be hopeful still. I was unlocked (but otherwise 100% stock), checked for the updates a couple of days ago, and all went smoothly. It may just be that the servers are currently overloaded.
Hello Everybody!
So, the thing is that I bought a brand new DS7 from ebay recently, and it has Honeycomb in it, but about a week ago things went wrong -actually I'm not sure if it was good before. The tablet does not work on the proper way. First of all, I tried to install iGO on it, but it didn't let me to do it. So I can't install apps. And there are times when I can't connect it to the computer...and etc. I was wondering if it has a proper Honeycomb in it...so the point is that I decided to delete everything from it and reinstall the Honeycomb myself. I'm not very into these things, so it's a big effort for me to do this.
I have been searching for tutorials for 2 days. I think I found the right one somewhere here on this website. I've closed it unfortunately and it was opened yesterday and I cleared yesterday's history for some other reasons...so I can't open it again.
So the last time everything was ready, so was I, to do the installing. But, the comp. was searching for some APX files, probably drivers, but it didn't find it. So I couldn't continue the installation.
I've been looking for these drivers for hours, but haven't found anything. So I decided to register to this site, ask you, experts where to seek and what to do.
I lost so much time on this that I shouldn't have...
Thanks for your help in advance!

Now I'm about to restore the whole device following this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011654) tutorial. Hope it'll solve some of the problems.

Dude, try not to dobblepost. Its quite better when you edit the first one.
(By the way im not a native english speaker to but i hope you understand what i mean)
Could you write down how far you come. At which step do you stop? And if the drivers are a problem, please post your Computer OS, like Windows or Linux or Mac.
I have solved the problem. Should I delete this thread somehow?

No, you should post your solution in this thread. If someone has the same problem they may do a search and find this thread, and they can learn from you. Or if the solution was in another thread, post a link to that thread.
hah, okay The reason I didn't want to is because I think it's not a big deal. I have pushed the volume + and the Turn Off button then Factory Reset, and waited. Now everything's fine. The problem was, actually that I'd been doing...rather trying the reseting in a wrong way. I thought I should do it in the Settings/Privacy menu. But no. So It solved my problems. I didn't need to re-install Honeycomb as I'd thought the time I started this thread. I believed that the problem is in my HC, but fortunately no, so I'm going to sleep. Minden jót, srácok!
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and if my post is posted on the wrong area, please feel free to move it (and I apologize for any inconvenience)
so back to the problem that I have encountered: my S5 cannot power off properly after flashing G900F. I have an ATT S5 and I used towelroot to root, install Safestrap and did all the backup, setup a new rom kind of stuff. After that, I flash G900F to my phone (with all those wipe done correctly). My phone works perfectly fine but when I try to turn off my phone, it will do all the work but keeps in a black screen with the two button lights on. When I tried to turn on my phone then, it would not do so, so I believe it hangs at that black screen.
Did anyone encounter this before and know a way out? Every help is appreciated and sorry again if this post is in the wrong area.
Pete
Its a bug with safestrap. There's currently no fix other then a battery pull.

Thank you so much for your reply,
If you don't mind, please help me out on another problem: after doing all the process, my phone could not connect to my home wifi. It always got stuck at the "obtaining IP" process, is there a way that I could fix it as well?
Thank you so much for helping out this new guy!:good:

I'm really not sure there. No custom ROMs would let me use WiFi when I flashed them.
Questions and Help issues belong in Q&A and Help section...thanks!

Greetings fellow members,
it is actually a redundancy to request your help, as my problem would not have to exist if I'd be more catious
at working with CWM. However, I originally intended to flash my P880 with CyanogenMod for what, as you
most probably know, you need CWM installed. Now, what I did not know (or what I should have known) is the fact,
that you need an unlocked bootloader to get CWM running. As I have read, that the bootloader does not allow other
programs to run whilst booting.
Well, I tried to solve the problem by following
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38838927&postcount=7
this guide here. Almost everythings works as instructed... almost.
As I try to start upgrading by clicking on the yellow arrow, nothing happens.
The ports stay gray and I can only exit the LGFlashTool.
The premiss to have the Windows Enabler switched on shall hereby be fullfilled.
So, all in all that's everything I can say at the moment.
Drivers are the newest, and everything else is done as said (in the guide).
If needed, I can create a detailed list of all things I am accomplishing step by step.
So, let's hope for the best.
Your noob sincerely,
Some Mind
Well, problem solved.
I'll just spare the solution as it is embarassing.
Never mind, thread shall be closed.
I am a beginner at this, so bear with me. I had an old HTC One lying around that was somewhat in a non-working state. Not as a phone anyway as it constantly lost service. Someone told me that it might perhaps be a software issue and if I rooted it and used a different ROM, it could fix my problem. So, for the first time, I gave it a shot. I tried a bunch of things, followed many tutorials, but I couldn't gain s-off on the device. Finally, someone said since my hboot was version 1.57, I would need to use sunshine to accomplish my goal. I did so and it worked. So now I followed another tutorial which showed how to make it a google play edition device. So I flashed the RUU and it failed the first time around. I tried again as the tutorial said I would have to only to get another error. My computer said it was waiting for a device. Basically my problem is that now when I'm in fastboot mode, my computer won't recognize it. When I boot it normally however, it acts like usual. I've visited other suggested threads on these forums, but to no avail. I've tried other chords, I've updated drivers, I've gone into the device manager and did just about everything suggested. So I've come here for one last try. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated.
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

Thank you for your assistance in moving my thread to the correct location. I'd also like to note that I read quite a few articles where people seem to have the same problems as I have or have had, but none of them seem to help. Just so you know I didn't run straight for the post option and actually put some effort into finding my solution before hand.
