It's here, TWRP 2.0 - Nook Color General

http://teamw.in/project/twrp2
Pick Nook Color from right, download file and install from adb.
Or image to a sdcard (winimage or w32imager) to create a bootable sdcard.
Enjoy your new touchscreen recovery.

I'm not familiar with TWRP, is it some sort of ClockmodWork Recovery but with GUI?
Any more advantage?

It's recovery that uses the touch screen instead of buttons.
The backups don't appear to be compatible with CWM.
Adb doesn't recognize my NC or I'd install it. I did get to play a bit with it on my Touchpad tho.

Thanks Colchiro,
Another question.
As we all know CwMR v.3.0.2.8 will yield /data format problem on stock 1.2 or above, and that fixed by using CwMr v3.2.0.1 or above.
Does it this GUI TWRP resolve this incompatible issue? I meant, it works for all stock ROM versions?

Good question. I don't make the news, I just report it. I know they test it on many devices and flash, backup and restore many roms. I would think it'd be compatible, but I don't know 100%.
Also note, this is RC0 (release candidate), not a stable release. AFAIK, this is the first version released to the general public.
I see there's a post by eyeballer in the dev section. That'd be a good place for questions.

I want to try and have TWRP as an alternate recovery. However, I can't access a PC at the moment. Is there a way to copy the files to the boot partition by just using the Nook itself? I dunno, some file manager that can access the boot partition (tried File Expert, Astro and Root Explorer to no avail) or some commands that I can put in Terminal Emulator perhaps? Sorry if I'm being too difficult, I just don't have access to a PC and I'm dying to try this out, I've been waiting for these thing to get released since I first saw it.

Problem on rooting my g1

I followed this tut http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548924 and got up to the installing CyanogenMOD 4.0.1 (Stable) part. The 4th step it asks me to hold alt+I+W+S in the recovery mode. But my g1 download\install right after i pressed alt+I and W there was no need for S somehow or i messed it up...And then as for the 5th part it did not ask me to reboot it reboot by itself automatically and i had to do the google registration part again like i was downgrading. So i want to know if i had rooted and installed the custom rom successfully or i did something wrong.
the quickest way to tell if it worked is to go to terminal emulator and type su if you get a screen that comes up and ask for your permission to run su then you have root and a custom rom. the other way is if your have 5 homescreens
Uhh where is the terminal emulator lol sry im a newbie ;3. And what you mean by 5 home screen?
either check your app tray or download it from the market. do you have 3 home screens, or 5 home screens, or go into settings and look for something like this under about phone

Nope D: don't have the mod version. Theres only kernel version and build number. So i assume i rooting and installing custom rom went unsuccessfully?

what does the kernel version say? most likely though you will need to reflash your rom though. make sure the rom is on the root of your sdcard, if you don't have the 1.4 version of cyanogen's recovery image then rename it to update.zip (if you do not know what recovery you have assume you need to name it to update.zip). then boot into recovery(home and power), select the option to flash update.zip from sdcard (something like that) then when it is finished reboot the phone.
david do you happen to have aim\msn or ym? Hate forum posting D:

[RECOVERY][GSM][I9300][v5.8.4.3][Touch] ♓og-ec♓ ClockworkMod CWM-based

These recoverys are based on the latest CM9 source which I modified for myself. We all know this is Koush's hard work, I am just compiling with a few changes...
-source
-touch support thanks to @gweedo767
I would take screenshots, but ddms doesn't work in recovery on the galaxy s3...
It's too bad, because these look absolutely gorgeous on the sgs3, even in recovery
Note* if rom manager doesn't recognize the recovery, flash official recovery from the rom manager app, then use odin to install the mod one in and you will be good to go
to install
1-flash tar in Odin as PDA
2-use mobile odin
(read about it here)
cool trick to get rid of extra no's
(or get the one_confirm.zip from the bottom of the page and extract it to /sdcard/clockworkmod)
Code:
adb shell
touch /sdcard/clockworkmod/.one_confirm

The process seems to stop half way and not move when trying to flash the recovery image in Odin.
Is it possible to flash a .ZIP from the externalSD in this Recovery? When I got it right - on the other available Touch-Recovery there's no externalSD supported.
no, it's not possible, Yet.
I've installed this recovery, no external Sd supported.

Sounds good I've flashed it anyways. Works like a charme! Good work!
Maybe you can increase the font-size a little in the next version like in the Recovery (for the Galaxy Nexus) of Nathan Grebowiec (https://plus.google.com/u/1/102668644728495519296/posts/A6dUdXr7y6a)?
Nice work for the touch recovery dude .
PS : Ahah masterchief, add me on XBL : zSaNgO
bumped version to 5.8.4.3
really no significant change...

slight color change (made a mistake was 155 should have been 115)

Testers Needed!!!

Sorry guys. I was hoping there was a backdoor that I may have missed to get this to work. After working with a couple folks there is no way to make this a user friendly install even with the corrected partition map info. As soon as you guys get unlocked I will revisit this and I will be checking back on a regular basis.

I am looking at yet another Universal release. This time it's not a universal MotoBlur ROM but a possible Universal Ubuntop/Webtop+ release but I need testers. It is based on the latest Webtop release for the Photon (WT-1.2.0-180) and is successfully running on the Atrix, Electrify and Photon. We've been running Ubuntop/Webtop+ since September with minimal issues and I have received multiple requests to port. If successful, the advantage of this universal release is that any improvements and enhancements will carry over to all devices.
Prerequisites:
Unlocked
CWM Recovery (Bootstrap MAY work)
GB Blur based ROM with Webtop support (for now)
/osh be located at /dev/block/mmcblk0p13 (if osh is not located at mmcblk0p13 PM me with the correct partition location)
/osh be atleast 755.9MB
Not afraid of using terminal
Latest version of 7Zip
Ubuntop.7z - 264.3 MB (MD5- AA02B21D7A8D733621AD48B1425E95C8)
DO NOT POST RESULTS - PM ME YOUR RESULTS - IF THIS WORKS I WILL BE RELEASING TODAY
Installing:
Make a full backup including webtop (this is key so you can revert any changes)
Extract the UbunTop.7z file (this requires you have the latest version of 7zip installed)
Copy the Ubuntop folder to internal storage (again this is a must)
From CWM recovery, flash the Univ_Ubuntop_v1.0.0.zip
Reboot and launch webtop
Follow the instructions in the "READ ME!!!" file in the Ubuntop folder
(Right now I'm looking for install success and menupatch success. If you want to install applications and report on that as well that's great.)
Haven't slept in over 24hrs and just realized I need to use Aroma Installer. Gonna get some sleep, fix and reup Universal Ubuntop. For those that know what they are doing, edit the scripts to point ot the proper partition to play with it.

[KERNEL] Insecure Kernel with DPI Mod

[KERNEL] Insecure Kernel with DPI Mod
Insecure kernel based on the GB version of the Phone. This allows modding Screen Density of the Phone to a lower DPI, starts adb as root, so you can adb remount, adb push /system /data files easily now.
Issues seen with DPI Modding:
1) The default launcher doesn't work correctly, you'll need to use another launcher.
2) The motorola keyboard is too small, use Swype or any other keyboard of your choice. (Only swype tested working correctly, but others should work correctly too)
Tell me if you find more.

All you really need is make and gcc, should be possible to do that with cygwin.
iv tryed and the tool won't build please could you send the tool as I would like to remove the link data/media
thanks
I wondered why dpi couldn't change in build.prop, now I know why
I'll definitely be trying this out when I get my RAZR i back.
Nice Work...200dpi fits quiet perfect to this Phone :good:
To make it easy 4 lazy people like me, i attach an Kernel Flasher that contains the newboot.img.
Extract the .rar
Enable USB Debugging on your Phone and connect to your PC
Start the install_kernel.bat
RelaX
Your Phone will reboot into Bootloader, flash the Kernel and reboot back into your System
