For some reason or the other my phone wont get connected via usb anymore. I have tried all methods I have come across so far. I am running a rooted htc hero (sprint) 2.1. it was working fine. then i got an error 67 data call error. sorted that out by turning the phone off and updating the profile. now it wont connect via usb. Windows 7 64Bit is what i am running. I have tried to update/install the driver manually but to avail. Any help would be much appreciated.
Do you have HTC Sync installed? I couldn't get the USB driver out of the Android SDK to work for me. I installed the tools and now it works.
i got it sorted out. did i clean reinstall of the rooted 2.1 and that seems to have fixed all my problems. so i am keeping my fingers crossed and hope nothing else pops up.
When I try to open Kies on my PC I get the following message. "Cannot set Owner property to a Window that has not been shown previously"
This problem has only started today and I had not done anything to course it.
I have tried reinstalling Kies but I still get the same message.
Any help will be thankful for.
are you using Windows 7 ?? try to run KIES as administrator, if that fails, try running in compatibility mode, like xp or summit.
weird problem, also check you have latest version
Yes Windows 7. I always run a administrator. Have downloaded latest Kies since this problem started.
Anyway thanks for your help.
I don't know what happened but all of a sudden Kies is now working again.
My thanks to those who looked in. I just hope that it stays working OK.
windows 7 has that problem for me to..
I have just installed the HD7 B3 on my WiFi only Streak7, everything I can see works great apart from I can not for the life of me get Windows 7 Pro SP1 to recognize the device anymore, where as I was able to access the device fully before the install and it was recognized as Dell Streak 7, everytime I try and install the drivers for the unknown device, windows keeps telling me I have the best drivers for it....Arghhhhh
I have searched this section but all to no avail...
Any tips or pointers would be greatly received!
Many thanks,
Mark

Hi,
I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.
It does not recognize the fastboot mode in my Nexus One.
When the phone is connected in fastboot mode (bootloader), Windows gives the prompt 'The last USB device you connected to your computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.'
Is there a problem with my phone?
What can be done to rectify this?
What fastboot drivers would be required to be installed?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, such a relief knowing that it is most probably nothing wrong with my phone. :cyclops:
No replies on this?
Please help guys.
There's anyone there?
I triend on Windows 7 and same message appears
I also have this issue. I keep trying to update/re-install the driver but it always reverts back to ADB Interface > HTC Bootloader (when looking at device manager). I have re-installed the Official Google Nexus Drivers, my Nexus 9, 10 and Galaxy Nexus all work fine.
And to be clear, it's only fastboot that is the issue. ADB works:
Code:
adb devices
yields the devices ID and
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
reboots into HBoot.
Also, to be clear, I just upgraded to Windows 10 and all of the devices listed above work still!
So any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I might try replacing the logicboard in this bad boy.

I'm experiencing the same problem on Windows 10 with a Google Nexus One Did you ever resolve it toonhead85 ?
I'm thinking about buying an old windows 7 laptop on ebay just to be able to keep working on the phone. I just can't let go.
anyone found the solution about this error message? I'm trying to give life to my old N1 and I can't see to find a fix for this error, and I really dont want to downgrade my notebook system just for that...

YES!!!
So, using VirtualBox I installed Windows 7 and this. No problems at all. I guess this means that there is some incompatibility with Windows 10 and Nexus One. I was able to remove BlackRose and install STOCK 2.3.6, which is what I wanted to do in the first place.
Best of Luck!

Sorry to pull this thread up from the grave, but how did you get the virtual Windows 7 to see the device at all? I've only been able to get it to pick up devices with working drivers in my main Windows install.
