Hello guys! Just wanted to ask if anyone of you have encountered this problem(I don't know if its a feature or not).
I'm just worried that these blinking buttons might eat most of my battery. Because whenever my screen is off, the buttons will blink for almost forever if I recieve a notification, only stopping if I wake up the phone.
Can you guys help me solve my problem. Or if its a feature tell me how to disable it. Any help would be much appreciated.
Just flashed Nightly #20 and Nova 11
You can say it's a feature ... But i was also worried about battery so i turned off.
If you want to stop blinking LEDs go to Settings > CyanogenMod Settings >Interface > LED notifications > Unconfigured >Edit category settings > LED Mode> here you can set "Force LED off" . That's it .

Exactly.
It's a feature many one try to have to, so enjoy it. And method to disable it is said above if you don't want it.
Use the always on option (or something like that). I use LG Black Notification and when I receive a notification, the buttons will stay always on, they wont blink. This way you have a notification feature without draining battery.
I did a compare between blinking and always on, blinking was draining my battery really fast. The always on, well, I didn't notice any draining in my battery...
No this is actually a feature, it let's you know when you have any missed calls or recieved a text message.
Thank you so much guys. Until next time I need help
Does it show light notification when fully charged from a wall socket? My OB is in CM7 and it doesn't notify at all when fully charged. I forgot how the stock behaves

Hi
I just received mine today, I was so consumed by messing around with settings and all programs that I just found that only one led is working on my phone - orange one during charging. Do you have the same? No notification about wifi/bluetooth/whatever during normal usage and it seams to me this model has 2 leds around front speaker. Do I have damaged phone, is it default behaviour or maybe I need to turn somehow those notifications??
There is only one on the D2. It's on the left. The right side is a light sensor to automatically adjust the screen brightness.
For notifications to show (flash green), go to settings/sounds and notifications and tick 'flash light' under email, mms, etc.
Thank you WMguy you saved my day
I experienced the same panic till i read the manual! But I really miss the "in service" flashing green light. It's useful as a quick check that the phone's in range and WM hasn't frozen and switched off as my last phone sometimes did.
I've already searched unsuccessfully, but if anyone knows a simple app to turn the one LED into a "in service" light I'd be grateful.
Has anyone found an app that gives us better control over the hardware LED?
I'd like to have the notification light periodically blink when there's an SMS message or missed call, (and maybe some of the other important notifications), and the default settings offer so little control as to be useless. <rant> Seriously, why would I want a LED to tell me if the phone is charging, I can see damned well that it's charging, there's a cord attached! </rant>
There's the LEDBlinker app, which has all the options i'd want, but when I put it into test mode, it doesn't blink the leds.
Has anyone else tried to do this? Has anyone had any success? It's a cool hardware feature, that I think i'd really use - but it's hobbled by the crap configuration options Samsung gave us.
Thanks

Samsung prevents the LED notifications from working unless the screen is turned off. I'm using Light Manager (the dev participates on this forum), and so far it works fine in "alternate" mode. When you test the LED settings, a pop-up tells you to turn off the screen, and only then will the test work (and it does).

Thanks - turns out I'd turned the LED off in settings (along with the options to use the LED to show charging status). /facepalm
Hi,
I have the phone charging next to me overnight and the bright lights are really annoying. I have setup Light Flow to dim the charging LED but cant get it's sleep mode to work correctly so that notifications don't make the led bright and flashing again (I have it enabled for a certain time period and set the light/LED to disabled).
I have also tried using an app called "Do Not Disturb" which allows you to stop Mobile Data and Wifi over it's sleep period to stop the notifications from turning up but that doesn't seem to stop them properly and they still show up (along with their very bright flashing light).
So, has anyone had any luck getting these apps to work or do you have an alternative that does these jobs successfully for you?
I already invested a lot of time in finding a proper solution for the Z3, but maybe here someone found a solution in the meantime?
(I can't root the device, as it's the device of my girl friend)
Thanks for any help.
I use tasker to shut down sync and mobile connections when charging. Without root there is no solution so far. You can turn of light notifications, but battery/charging notifications stay active and have priority above Lightflow settings.

Within Light Flow, make sure the charging/charged lights have priority above all other notifications and you should be set.
I, too, use Tasker to disable data at night, but sometimes some notification comes along anyway (like a birthday reminder or something). However, thanks to Light Flow suppressing other notifications than the charge related ones, I don't get blinded at night anymore.
Previously, I used Light Manager for the same job, but for me, LM couldn't really handle those other notifications, and instead started to switch between blinking the colour of the notification and the dimmed charge light.
I got my R1 HD recently. After I set up everything I noticed that when the screen is off, no matter whether I received an email, a sms or a missed call, the LED light just didn't flash. The phone did notify by sound and I can see items in status bar when I turn on the screen.
I looked at everything in the Settings, but couldn't find anything wrong. I called R1 representative and he said he never heard such issue before.
Then I ordered a replacement from Amazon and it arrived today. You know what, same thing happened! No LED light for notification. Just sound notification.
The only time I know there is an LED light is when I charge the phone (red) or when it's fully charged (green).
Has anyone seen such issue before? I greatly appreciate the help!
The LED can really only display red and green as when they are both on the red greatly overpowers the green so the color combination is not detectable. Lightflow can control which apps have access to the LED and which color to display. The LEDs are either on or off - no brightness levels. I have also not been able to get the LED to blink on notifications and suspect that this is also a hardware limitation of the phone. I've been quite disappointed in the LED notification capabilities. There are a couple of other threads about the notification light in the Blu forums here if you search
Thanks for the reply! I did try Lightflow, but it didn't help. In test mode or real mode, what I got was just a status bar notification, no LED.

I did have to change some settings for it to work with the Blu phone.
These are the settings I am using that allow apps to turn on the LED:
Under General settings, the following are checked:
Enable Light Flow
Show LED in priority mode
Device Admin
Enable Clear all
Accessibility check
Version upgrade reminder
Under Device settings and root, the following are checked:
Direct mode
Root mode
Run every command as root
Show LED with screen on
Nexus 5 force LED reset
I also have light flow enabled under settings->accessability and lightflow has root permission in supersu.
Oh so I have to root the phone? I just called Blu customer service, and they told me I need to do a factory reset..
Try it and let us know what happens, please. Some phones require root and others don't. I reflashed and rooted and xposed mine before I did anything else so I don't know if it works without root or not.
Solved! Did a hard reset (not factory data reset thru Settings) by pressing power button and volume up together to enter the recovery menu. I cannot believe Amazon/Blu missed such an important step that the customer has to do it by themselves..
Same here bit in a Blu vivo 5R in this case.
So... I need to execute a Factory Reset? And then appears the option for LED notification And works.
Hi ! I did buy a BLU VIVO XL2. No LED activity for notifications. I have the options for LED behavior (Settings/Advanced Settings/Under Hardware title, LED indicator, Notification Reminder ON but green LED never flashes when expected. Factory Reset tried: I used Volume Up & Power Button to get recovery menu. There, I took a backup (SD storage, no compression, several chunks of data). After that, I selected Factory Reset. When rebooted, Google did his automatic restore of phone. After that, I tried Restore from Recovery menu, but a msg informed backup was corrupted, so, I did get a full Factory Reset status, with my phone memory user data lost. NO LED Notifications working after all these actions !!!!! . LED is alive, when reporting Power status, so it is not HW damaged. I will keep fighting to get my LED notification activity working... Regards, Norberto !!!
Try the free version of LightFlow from the play store. It will allow you to test and turn individual notifications on or off. The light can on display red and green colors and the red is very much brighter than the green. Mine turns flashing red when I miss a phone call on the Blu R1 HD>
Hi !! Thnx yaconsult. I did try free & legacy, unsuccessfully. Have a good day !!
I guess the Vivo works differently, then. The notification light works ok on my R1. If I miss a call, I get a blinking red light.
I have been searching looking for way to make this work with no solution.
I have disabled AOD since it is consuming battery heavily and wanted notifications to behave as on stock android where they turn screen on. My note 8 is receiving notifications and LED turns on, but screen doesn't. I have to manually turn it on to be able to see the lockscreen notification.
Is there any way to make this work?
+1
Facing same issue.
Having the same problem. Aod does not work anymore.

I use "Dynamic Notifications". It lights up notifications when screen is locked. There's a certain amount of customisation, including screen on time. Used it on many of my phones including Note 8.
Wait.. You want the screen to turn on for every notification?
I hate that... Some apps even ignore the settings either way.

Same here, that would drive me nuts if the screen turned on for every notification. It's bad enough the screen turns on everytime the phone is plugged in/unplugged from USB or from a wireless charger.
Shouren, you can try snoozy charger app to manage the plug/unplug screen on issue

Thanks. The rom I'm using is actually supposed to have that disabled but I don't think it works for wireless charging, only cable. I never never charge with the cable anymore. But whatever, I prefer not to install apps just to disable one minor thing.
I understand you, I also prefer wireless, but, it works with wireless too
There must be a build prop tweak or something but I can't seem to find one right now.
Maybe a PM to a nice dev and they could tell you where to look. Report for community if you figure it out
