Stock music player, coming from LG P500 is at last, something useful, big cover arts... lock screen controls and sleep-timer.
BUT WHAT THE HELL ... missing feature is "add to now playing list" ....
im on V10G European unbdanded / open ... do you guys all have this feature missing, or what?
If that's a general issue then can we mod it in any way to add this feature??
It's so freakin annoying to create all the time a new playlist, just to add some song to be played... rather than having a temporary list of songs...

CM7 stock player has it, Otherwise get PowerAMP or Winap from android market and there may be some other free players as well
i was prepared for that answer my friend, if i was about to do that, i wouldnt even make a new topic about that issue at all.
The fact that im trying to find a way to put that feature on stock player means that no other player meets my expectations.
To be honest, i actually prefer having that simple application without a tons of settings, album arts, lyrics, sync etc... because it just works!
Besides, there's no need to have a ton of applications because the stock ones dont satisfy... that's why im kindly asking, if there's any way to edit stock apks... just like the stock camera app, has removed shutter sounds.
Is it possible?
Anybody has the knowledge and some spare time to do that?

Not going to happen with out samsungs framework which is stripped out of aosp. The whole point of aosp is for it to be open source.

Now, Thx to this site I managed to root my phone and install a new launcher (yaay im a pro xD) BUT there are a lot of things i dont know how to do and theres particulary one that makes me go mad, my music library contains not only the music I download but also EVERY SINGLE voice note y send/receive using WhatsApp and I dont like this, so is there any way to change the folder where those voicenotes will be saved so they dont merger with my music? It´s very annoying to be listening to music and suddenly a wild sexy voicenote from my girlfriend appears while my phone is plugged to an Stereo and all my family is listening... Yes, it happened...
OH! and the other thing is "can I make my phone to turn off the screen after 1 minute BUT without it being blocked? so i can just press a butttom to make it come to life again without needing to unlock it again? something like i just want it to lock ONLY if i press the top buttom"

Stock player don't have option to set a library folders. I love PowerAmp, which is the best player in my opinion (it's free for 14 days). It has such option, so it's quite handy.
And few words about lockscreen. In custom ROMs such as GingerDX or MiniCM you'll find CyanogenMod Settings with many cool tweaks. You should try it, your phone will be fast as hell

Download 'No Lock' from the Market and disable the lockscreen when you want to prrss a button

Just updated to stock ICS 4.0.4 for Hong Kong (TGY). Noticed touchwiz is much slower loading after turning on the phone. But anyway, 2 things I noticed missing:
1) I noticed that the "pop-up play" feature does not appear in the stock video player. EDIT: fix here
2) I've also noticed the quick access to apps from the lock screen feature has been missing, didn't even have out when I upgraded to 4.0.3.
How can I get these missing features while keeping stock ROM and TW?
Yes it's missing for Nordic rom also.

Someone ported the stock videoplayer from a 4.0.4 s2 room, so at least i have pop-up play.

EDIT: i meant to say, someone ported videoplayer from ics 4.0.4 LRG over to s2 and got it to work, so simply take videoplayer from a LRG based custom rom

it's the stock VideoPlayer.apk from stock LRK rom. Just replace the VideoPlayer.apk already on your phone (after backing up of course) with this one.
Tested to work on my stock LPM rom. I'm just surprised the pop-up window is so small, considering the size of the N7000's screen

The bigger the window the more computing power is needed. So apparently Samsung thought better a fluent small video window than a big one that lags.

Ah makes sense. Still, isn't the n7000's processor more than capable of handling a larger window size?

Working in LRK but I still prefer Super Video... At least you can resize it...
I found that Moboplayer from the play store has the floating video feature now and it is resize-able.

i tried super video but didn't like the fact it runs in the background even after exiting, in running applications the process is called "Billing" :laugh:

i used mobo when i first switch to android but i prefer the look and feel of mx player, and i've found mx to handle different codecs better

I recently put the stable version of CM9 on my captivate and it was great. but the trebuchet launcher seemed kind of laggy and would redraw sometimes. I saw that the actual trebuchet.apk in the /system was about 7MB. so I modified another version and took out everything that wasnt needed, and now I have a nice light version that is super fast with no lags or redraws. It is only 575 kb!!!!!!!. I didnt like the Nova, Apex ect. I just like stock.
so if you guys wanna try this one along side the stock trebuchet if in cm9, just rename the file and put in /system. remember to fix the permissions. If you like it, do what I did and replace the existing trebuchet. let me know what you think or if someone can make it better.
Note: there is no wallpaper chooser in this launcher I took it out. so just use some other picture from the gallery, but the live wallpaper picker is still there.
Also Special thanks to GrainOsand For making the original launcher, this is a modded version for the captivate
This launcher should work on all ICS roms. I dont know if it works in gingerbread or Jellybean. I advise not to try it in gingerbread/JB since it is not tested.
also if you notice in my screenshot I use the walkman music player, I think its much better than any other player, its fast and stable with the stock lockscreen controls.

I basically took parts from different trebuchet versions, what ever was the smallest size, and removed all the wallpapers. It is much faster, i think its because the program is so small so doesn't need much memory.
to install. if you already have a trebuchet in your system with CM9 you can replace with this (thats what I did) but if you feel uncomfortable doing that, you can rename the file and then put it in /system so both launchers will show up.
I suggest renaming and putting alongside the other trebuchet first to test. then if you like it replace the exsisting trebuchet. I dont want anyone to complain that they wrecked their OS.
So i renamed to old launcher to .apkold in /system/app and copied in the new launcher. Its been running the boot animation for about ten min now i will give it another few minutes but i have a feeling i did something wrong?
NO, you cant change the file extention!!!! it has to be .apk. if you want to rename it you should rename to Tebuchet2.apk or something. obviously the .apk need to be there. also i hope you are running CM9. i said in the original post this is for ICS only!!!

yea i think you did it wrong, you cant alter the file name of the original launcher. either you replace it with this and make sure the name and permissions are exactly the same or keep both and rename the new one to Trebuchet new.apk or something
Cool thanks I went back to CM9 and it works well hope there is a CM10 one on the way!!
I wont be making a CM10 version until I use CM10. and that will only be once cyanogenmod release a stable RC or final version of CM10. but if someone else wants to make it and post it here that would be great.

Yes i knew that I have tested it on a Nexus S also. I think it should work on all ICS phones. just wondering if you are finding this faster than the S2 touchwiz?

Hi, I just downloaded your Launcher, But havent installed yet, cause Im just still learning about all this stuff, know a lot of Linux and Computers, and because of that, I always want to be sure what Im doing, so before doing it I was wondering, I just put it in /system and then What? I suppose, I need to reboot phone, but How can I choose betwen both Launchers? I looked for an option in Settings, but didnt find nothing...and second thing, with this launcher I can't use my own pictures for Wallpaper?

Edit: I placed it in /system/app folder, Set the same permissions of the original one, reboot, but nothing, I can't find a way to switch it, Do I have to change names so the new one replace the old, and then name the old one with just a random name temporaly, ??

I would like to introduce a little project I'm going to be starting, my first attempt at an App for android, one which will bring added functionality to the stock launcher on rooted devices.
Having tried a lot of different launchers, I actually prefer the stock launcher, for all but one thing which is the way it sorts Apps in the app drawer. The stock launcher sorts apps by name like most other launchers, but it splits them into System Apps and Downloaded Apps, so it can be hard sometimes finding the app you want.
My App is going to provide a way of sorting the Apps how you want, without modifying the stock launcher, so that it can last between updates.
My main aim is to provide a simple interface to pick how you want the Apps sorted, primarily alphabetical, ignoring whether they are system apps or downloaded apps.
You could do this by moving apps around manually but it would take a long time, so the idea is to automate this process.
While I work on the base of the app, I would like feedback on what other ways you would like the apps to be sorted, so that when you open the app, you can pick from different options as to how to sort the apps.
I look forward to reading some of your input.

But can you even add or mod the default tasker like when we long press home key at the bottom it takes us to task manager where we have to kill all unwanted application one by one, can you add a kill all button to that it wwould be amazing if you can do that.

obviously u dun have htc phone..
lg's contacts and phone is ugly. plain and simple.. join feature is ineffective.. stock icons are lame.. lockscreen is LAME and slow and buggy with faceunlock.. if u manually join contacts, u cant edit the name.. and the names can be random and wrong..
themes are jus 4.. and ugly.. weather is ugly.. its slow..
list is too long.. lg made an epic device.. *WAAYYY BETTER THAN ONE X* but ****ed up with the software..
I like the launcher but this is annoying, nobody wants to.continue this? I think it would probably be easier to just mod the launcher itself
