I've a problem after (more than one) firmware update....
My P970 don't recognize recognize charger & don't go in USB mode (PC don't view the SD card)
I try CM7 and Nova, I also have a brick after flashed a kernel Nova in a Rom stock.
After that I put a new Rom stock v10c by KDZ but now have this terrible problem....
How can I solve it....?
Many thanks

Yes by enter in the hidden menu (3845#*970#) but nothing change....
I have the same problem since 2 months. I'm currently with the last temasek Kang release, kernel nova 11c.
The only way to charge correctly the battery is to wait the phone self extinction, by low battery, wait around 10 minutes, and plug the charger. Another weird thing: when I plug the shut down phone to sector, it will autoboot (everytime).
Else, when I try to charge the phone, 2 different behaviours:
1) most of time it charges anyway, but not detected as charging. The phone overheat, and could self extinct because of that. Time of use with a battery charged like that is very poor.
2) sometimes, nothing happen. No charge.
I'm very bored by this bug.

Check your USB cables, the pins inside. As well as the USB connector on the phone itself. Use a different cable. I/we never had this kind of problem (not charging so it isn't a bug or something but rather hardware problem. If not USB, battery problem.
If not, do a full wipe and reflash the KANGed RC0. If problems persists, revert to Froyo stock so you could test. I'm after the warranty for you if you still have the problem in Froyo.
That auto reboot is well known for CM7. Again, this also is not a bug but a feature.

Checked with 3 different cables and several chargers (including original ones). Phone USB connector seems OK, but cannot really check it.

Did full wipes several times, but no effect. It's hard to go back to stock Froyo without phone-to-computer connection, and I don't want to loose ability to root my OB after that.

Anyway, thanks for all. If we are only few people with this bug, it seems to be a material failure indeed.
I may look for the warranty, but as I changed country (from EU to Canada), it will be quite complicated, and I need my phone :/. Just a (stupid) idea, maybe the phone didn't support the 110V, after 220V charging usage (but charger should support these 2 voltages).

I come back to v10b europe, across a lot of wipe....
Fortunatly the charger was recognized....
The problem was't "don't charge" but "not recognized"
Unfortunately today try to flash the Quasar kernel, and now I have the same problem.....
The charger, charge, but don't recognized and the USB to PC don't work's.....!!!
Turn phone off
Remove battery
Wait 10 seconds
Put battery back.
Turn phone on
I had this issue on my Optimus Black with stock Froyo rom.
My symptoms were:
- device recognized as 'modem' in Windows but no option in Android to switch into "USB Mode". Phone update software would still recognise phone was connected and I could run a firmware recovery using LG tools. Reflashed and reset to factory many times didn't fix the issue.
- if phone switched off and plugged into charger or USB would go into "SW Upgrade" mode
- I could force "USB mode" to appear on the phone by opening the hidden menu and switching the USB to "AP Mode" I think it was.
- I found the USB connections would disconnect after a period of time and sometimes the "AP mode" workaround wouldn't work.
- tried different cables, chargers and PCs and all present the same problems.
- having the battery unplugged for an extended period would get the phone working temporarily but the problem would come back after a short while.
Eventually got on to LG Support and sent it off for repair. They replaced the motherboard as faulty.
I think the problem may have been caused by a faulty car charger that I have since replaced, but ultimately replacing the motherboard on the phone fixed the problem.
If your phone is covered under warranty, I'd be sending it off for repair as it is probably a hardware issue.

Ask no Problem
I'm having same problem as stated by others. This is annoying me.
Its just been 2 months I've got this phone and it feels real bad to face such problems so soon.
Am facing problems like. I connected my phone to PC via USB and it showed me the option to Turn on Mass Storage, I clicked on it and it showed me the Mass Storage Drive on my PC too. But in just minute or two it disconnected on its own and SD Card started scanning and again it got connected by its own but then after that it disconnected again and it on pc it started to install drivers again. Which were already installed like 5 or 6 of them.
I formatted the phone twice. Removed the battery for around 5-6 minutes. Used like 4 USB cables. Installed LGE drivers from LGE Software updater.
This is so bad.
What software are you guys using? Which ROM?
I've also been experiencing this situation, one time this problem caused a loss of all my SD data! (my sd card got corrupted)
I'm on Zeus V6.11 right now, and I must say that USB storage is working great for me in CWM Recovery, even though it doesn't work on my phone when it's turned on in Android.
How to check whether it's an hardware problem in my phone, or just a fault of my compuer?
Experiencing this problem for around two months now. I suspect my charger to be damaged. Since I can charge the phone via the USB port. When I try to charge the phone via the charger it doesn't respond, but when I pull it off the charger the phone will boot. Had the motherboard already replaced by LG service center, but the problem wasn't solved.
The phone can connect to PC without any problems. PC can connect to mass storage.
So now, I'm using a Corby II charger and it seems to do a great job at charging my OB

Currently I'm using Stock Root v20b rom.
No software's nothing, as I stated I even formatted my phone twice.
It was working well around 2 days back. I had just plugged my usb cable to phone via pc and then all of a sudden the phone started acting weird, like it was connecting and disconnecting frequently, and then it started to install the LGE drivers by itself, which were already installed didn't even touch them nor uninstalled anything.
Tried using Sony Xperia Neo V's USB cable too, but no luck.
Once I lost my USB cable.
then i brought a cheap uUSB cable. Icud transfer data from PC, but charging rate was really very SLOW... nearly 4hr.!!
Now i replaced it with new Original one, n every thing working Perfect...
I am seeing the same problems - charger is not recognized and USB mode is not working. Different cables / chargers, different Win7 and Ubuntu PCs.
I formerly used a rooted V20o from here, with which the problem first appeared, now I went over to Zeus 6.22, which still shows the same problems.
I believe the hardware is faulty.
Can anybody help me how to regain warranty? I have the stock V20o (unrooted), but since USB does not work, I cannot flash it the regular way. Is it possible now to flash from sd card?
Try with LG standard update software, you have the emergency menu....
If you want to viwe your sd card try the Samba Filesharing app. I have the same problem on cm7 and with this App i can see my SD Card

Well this problem drives me crazy.
My phone (i9070) doesn't make any sound when I plug it on my computer or charger and no charging indication appears either on the phone.
On computer side device appears under the storage devices.
However is seems that the power connection is working since if I restart the phone while the power plug is still connected the charging indicator appears. In addition after the restart the battery seems to reach 100% extremely soon (which is not normal at all). Unplugging the charger (or the computer) doesnt detected either by phone, the charging indicator is still active until restart.
I tried to factory reset the device and still "no juice".
I have tried 3 different cables with two computers where the device was connected few days ago without any problem.
I don't know what should I suspect.
Faulty battery? Faulty data connection on phone plug? OS based issue?
Any ideas?

What ROM and what kernel you are using?
Sent from my GT-I9070 using Tapatalk
Sorry forgot to mention these info:
Kernel
3.0.31-CoCore-EP-8.2
Updated to 8.2 after the problems I had CoCore 8.0 until the problem appeared.
ROM
LightJB v1.2
I used to work with JellyMod v4.0 until the problem appeared and I switched to LIghtJB v1.2 to test if the problem fixed but the same behavior here.
Should I replace my battery?
Is there any way to check if the USB connection gets detected by the phone hardware (a diagnostic procedure)?

Put the phone in download mode, connect to PC via USB cable and open Odin. If the phone connects, I recommend a reflash with one firmware.

Hi All,
I also have the same problem.....
Can anyone help me.....
Twice now since updating to official .199 UK unbranded i've been hit by a bug where my phone won't recognise charger unless its turned off. It's fine for a couple of days then gets very random about whether it will charge when turned on. Usually this followed by the next day it won't charge at all. This time i've noticed my laptop won't recognise Xperia T internal storage either and ADB/USB debugging don't work either.
I've hard rebooted, booted in safe mode and factory reset from within the phone and it makes no difference. Sony no doubt would tell me charger or port is broken and use returns process but when turned off phone will always charge... It also has no problems with the laptop flashing it or fastboot mode from turned off so this is no hardware fault with my lead, ports or charger. I've reflashed kernel on its own with flashtool, also fully without wiping and fully with wiping NO DIFFERENCE.
So the only thing that will fix this is SUS repair function, every couple of days? Very stupid bug worse than the 100% charge with .295. You can no longer rely on the Xperia as a main phone in my opinion unless your prepared to carry a laptop and internet connection with you everywhere. What a disappointment.
Further to this I have just repaired and even that hasn't done anything. Just used flashtool to revert back to ICS software and my charger is immediately recognised on first boot. I will now update using SUS again to .199 and I bet it will still work for a couple of days and then start to trip out again. Where the hell can this bug be lingering though if it can avoid factory resets and full SUS software repair?? What can downgrading reset that nothing else can... Very confused and disgruntled now. I suspect you could also revert to 4.1 with same effect but I just had ICS firmware handy so used that. I will test 4.1 next time
ICS only works. It gave me a update to 9.1.A.1.141 over the air so I did it and it broke my port again. I flashed 9.1.A.1.141 manually and its still broke - that was the software I was using before 4.3 and it worked fine. Is it seriously possible that these 4.3 updates have done something so bad to my phone that only the software it originally came with will work properly because thats how it appears to me now. I can't charge while turned on or have my laptop recognise the Xperia T internal storage unless using 7.0.A.1.303. Phone about to get thrown against a wall I think.
Maybe your battery power control is ruined.
Have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688272
Thanks for suggestion but i'm not so sure. I mean it charges fine turned off, it charges fine on 7.1.A.303. And another symptom is not being able to connect my PC to phone. Surely if it was just battery/power control it wouldn't charge from PC but would still connect and allow me to transfer files. I also don't have any of the random reboots the OP had. I'm so worried to send this in for repair. Last time they did a software update and sent it back with original problem. Then they fixed 2nd attempt but caused some cosmetic damage and it didn't last long. Then my operator replaced it as I said I lost trust in the repair centre. I only got this one Nov last year and already it's having problems... I'm either unluckyist T owner going or they have some serious issues.

Very unlucky... my T is one year old, I installed every kind of rom/upgrade/downgrade and still works flawlessly.
Could they have replaced your old phone with a regenerated unit?
Your USB port is ok, that's for sure.
Like any other electronic component, a fried power control could behave in many different ways.
Yours could have problem when it has to work with a firmware that manage the power in a certain way.
Even when you connect to your PC, the power control of the battery is called to manage the power coming from the computer: in fact the phone usually charges during any operation with the PC.
And this explains why the phone charges fine when turned off.
Now the question is: which is the power control ruined? The one of the battery or are there other power controls?
Let's make it clear: this is just my hypothesis
If you don't trust in reparing service, why don't you try to repair by yourself?
You need a screwdriver (for only one screw) and a guitar plectrum to open up the back cover.
That's all, it's very easy... on internet there are some video guides... but remember that this way you loose your warranty!
Hello everyone.
I have a really big problem with my Xiaomi Mi3w (Cancro) and i haven’t find a solution in months.
I have an issue with the battery(?) or with the micro usb connector, sometimes i can’t charge my battery, no matter what or how, i can’t in any way.
When i connect the phone to the wall charger it doesnt charge or it even drains the battery, even if it’s off, it happened that some times when i connect the phone to the charger at 20+% battery after some hours it’s at 10%.
When the phone behaves like this and i try to connect it to the pc it can’t seem to hold the connection for more than 3-4 seconds, it continuosly connects and disconnects and it’s impossible even to open it in explorer. Obviously it’s impossible to charge even in this way.
At first i thought that it could only be a hardware problem (faulty connector/charger/cable etc)
but the last time i had this issue (today) i discovered that i can keep the connection between pc and the phone using fastboot. When i use fastboot the phone doesn’t disconnects continuosly so i can say that in 99% it’s not a connector/cable problem.
Could it be a kernel bug? I know that the kernel it’s active even when the phone is off but in charge, this could explain the charging problem even if it’s off.
Another thing that i discovered is that when the phone is on the connection to the pc gets more stable if i turn off debug mode ( can keep the usb connection on for more than 30 secs but i can’t seem to charge it anyway).
Things that i tried to solve the problem:
-Change the charger (1st charger is xiaomi’s orignal/ 2nd it’s a sony with output 5V/850 mah/ 3rd is a lg 4.8V/1A/ 4th is a generic tablet charger which came with my acer iconia with 5V/2A) none of these solved the problem.
-Change the cable (used 10 and more different cables, every cable was tested with my other devices and all were working well with my moto G and acer iconia)
-Fastboot install of both stable and developer rom
-Clean fastboot install of both roms (formatting both systems earlier with cwm)
-Install via cwm of ivan 4.4 aosp and cyano 12 (both of these uses the same leaked kernel right?)
-Cleaning connector with a neddle, soft cloth and some alcohol
I’m not sure about this other point but the phone seem to get in this not charging state when the battery gets below 30% and i keep it uncharged overnight.
So i thought that i could also be a problem related to the governor used by the phone when gets to a low battery profile and specifically when this governor tells the phone to get in deep sleep.
(this could perhaps explain the problem of both cyano and ivans roms random reboots and the workaround using partial_wake_lock)
I hope that someone can help me to solve this problem because my device is useless now
Thanks in advance to everyone
i have the same problem with my MI3W. Sometimes i can charge it while smartphone is power off.
I tried with another battery. I am waiting for a new usb connector flex to check too.

I think i might be having the same problem. My phone started acting weird at the exact same condition. The charging connection kept going on and off. Felt like hardware issue at first. Charged my phone somehow to full charge and reset it. Looks good now but still skeptical.
Fingers crossed.

Hi i resolved the problem some time ago, cleaning the connector with a very tiny needle, i didn't go very far the first time that i cleaned it, probably it's only dirt, try cleaning it yourself and see if it resolves the problem

Tested for one month, ....never cleaned the connector though....
Never faced the problem again, though i have changed roms.:good::good:
Anyways, hope it never comes back again
Thanks Lace.....
I have a T-Mobile Note 4 with RAPTURE ROM installed, and about a month ago I noticed that it wasn't charging very fast ("USB" charging speed even when plugged in with original charger and cable). When plugged into a PC, even in ODIN mode, all I get is "USB Device Not Recognized".
I had a phone repair shop replace the charging port, thinking that was the problem, yet it still persists. I really have no ability to test if it's a ROM issue, because to go back to full stock requires that ODIN recognizes the phone...
Any suggestions? I have searched high and low and can't find a resolution. I even tried restoring to an earlier TWRP backup with a different ROM and also got the same result.
the easy way to test if it is a rom issue or usb issue, boot your phone odin mode, and connect to computer, if computer recognized your phone, then better change your rom, if same issue then your phone may have hardware issue.
most repair shop check only usb charging after they fix it. they dont check computer connectivity.
based on my experience, your phone charging port is not working, some pins aren't touching the board. but the positive and negative pin for charging are OK.
You should take it back to the shop to double check it again.
So I'm having issues.
As of right now I don't really know what the problem is.
My phone will not connect to my PC anymore. It doesn't say "Connected as a media device" or anything.
I can't connect it to my PC with Odin in download mode either
My phone will not charge anymore (Using Ampere, it charges at about 220mA. It'll go all the way down to 10mA and for 4 seconds or so it'll be at a high mA like 470mA)
It is not my charging brick (I've used Three and I tested them on my other phones, the bricks work fine)
It is not my charging cable (I've used several, and again, I've tested with my other devices and it works flawlessly)
It is not my battery, I have 4 and I've switched between them all
It isn't my PC (I reinstalled all the drivers, and it worked with my Note 3 immediately)
I've tried pushing the cable down while plugged in, and up. It doesn't do anything.
My ROM that I'm running: Maximum OvrDriVE, it is a Note 5 port. Android 5.1.1, with xposed.
My kernel is Emotion r23. I'm on DOK2 baseband.
I've reflashed this ROM, and PacRom. Same issues.
I've flashed different kernels. Same issue.
Right now I'm going to try to go back to a different ROM that I was using that I know for a fact works fine.
(Tried it, it was Rapture 8.1, android 5.1.1, kernel: Emotion Kernel 5.1.1 r21. Nothing changed. Fast charging enabled, still said was being charged via USB when it was plugged into the wall. )
A physical inspection of my USB port on my phone, it looks fine.
I cleaned it too. Still, same issues.
So this only leads me to believe its a physical problem.
Can any of you guys help me out? Because I'm still not sure exactly what the problem is, and I need help
Its your phone, I had the same issue. Warrantied it through tmobile. Exact same problem. It is frustrating for sure.

Damn. Well, i thought so. I'm just going to replace the Micro-USB port then. That's less than $50 vs a new phone which is about $230
I don't have warranty. I bought it off amazon and it's been perfect up until now. I'm sure I caused the problem and 'll be careful not to do it again.
The scary thing is that I'm not 100% sure that it's the MicroUSB port. It can't really be anything else but I just don't want to buy this and then it turn out to be something else. I guess I'll have to try though.
So, update: Replaced USB Port.
Broke LCD Screen.
*sobbing in a corner*
Oh and it appears as if my USB Port doesn't work still (Same issue. It does work to a point but as of fast charging I dont know but when I turn it on and unlock it my comptuer doesnt recognize it)
