ZumoCast I think is available in the Market. As for golf, I have no idea. Were these apps frozen when you did the factory data reset?
RMD

If this is a problem, you can always flash the rom, using the stock rom. I've done it several times and it is quite easy.

Thanks for the info! Ill try that.

Irritating Market issue

I received my phone back a few days ago and I instantly flashed Cyan 5.0.6 test 3.
However I have a really annoying issue where my Market isn't quite 'correct'.
It seems to be missing the 'top paid' tab.
It also takes an age to load the info for any app I click on and the status stays at 'installing' even though it is installed and it will only refresh when I reboot.
I have tried to restore the backed up propriety apps, nandroid backup and restore, flashed a stock rom, flashed cyan 5.0.1
But NOTHING works.
I know the slow market is related to the missing tab, it's like half of the market app hasn't loaded properly.
I had this issue before my phone went off for repair and one day it fixed (I don't know how) but as soon as it did, it performed as it should and it took seconds to load app data and install, it also stated the app was installed.
I suppose what I'm looking for is HOW can I completely reload the Market from scratch?
Thanks guys.
J
Wow that is so weird... I assume you do wipe/cache/dalvik before flashing a ROM right? Have you tried cyan 5.0.6 yet? If not, give it a try, do the wipe before flash of course, and hope that works... Also, do you have a backup app? like titanium back up or back up pro? Did you set it to auto restore perhaps? Probably just a bad market back up? Thats all I can think about... If it doesnt work, then its beyond me brother

Hi Man,
I know it's really bugging me.
I've tried everything including wiping the Dalvik and normal cache.
I think I might try Enomer's ROM to see if that solves it but I can only tether at the moment as we've moved house and I won't have BB back for 2 weeks.
I have Titanium pro installed as I have over 400 apps on my phone!
Hey bro,
Apparently there have been a few reports about the same issue with the market, probably has something to do with the market update. Anyway, try uninstalling the market via titanium if you can that is. And reinstall. Nandroid before doing it.

Backing up texts

I'm flash happy but every time I do all my text history is gone. Where are those kept so I can save them between roms?

You will lose them unless you back them up. I use sms backup+ from the market. It links your messaging app with gmail so you can back up and restore.

If you use Titanium Backup, your texts are automatically backed up when you do a full system data + apps backup. You can restore them manually from the Backup/Restore tab of TiBu (it's one of the items in green, I forgot which one exactly). Just make sure you don't choose to restore all system data with TiBu or you might mess up your ROM and have to reflash. You'll have to reboot your phone after the restore for your texts to show up.

+1 SMS backup + is really easy and works flawless for me.
Don't use titanium backup to restore texts. Often it will cause force closes that require a reflash to fix depending on which roms you are moving between.
You could just change roms without using odin or clearing like I do, heh.

And this also isn't a best way to install a ROM. Yeah it works, but you also can run the risks of a bad install. I think we'll all agree, the last thing we need is more threads regarding constant force closing or soft-bricked phones.
---
I REALLY like SMS Backup+. I have automatic backups set, and since everything gets backed up to my Gmail account, that's one less thing I need to remember to copy off the phone before a ROM flash.

You shouldn't have to use odin but I agree. Definitely clear cash and data.
I don't think we should be recommending odin one click to everyone because it can harm the newest build of captivates. It's also very unnecessary.

I disagree. Bad ROM installs usually mean fc's, isolated problems and maybe stuck at boot screen. If that happens, simply wipe data+cache and try again. Flashing back to stock on the other hand--if something goes wrong, you're looking at a soft-brick (requiring a jig on some Captivates), worst-case-scenario, your bootloader is corrupt and you hope you know someone with a JTAG.

Unable to download from Google App Market

Hi guys,
I have recently downloading the new Cyanogenmod for the Milestone, and although its a pretty good mod, I haven't been able to download things from google market. I have installed GAPPS when it was required, and I can navigate the market fine, it even picks up my bought purchases. However, when I click on download,it says that it is downloading but the bar doesn't move. I;ve reflashed and rebooted numerous times but that doesnt seem to have fixed the problem. I was wondering if any of you had experienced the same thing and if so, how could I fix it?
I have plenty of space on my phone and my SD card too so I can't see where the problem lies.
update, I have looked around a little, and it may be a problem that I cannot connect to googletalk server. Anyone know how to resolve this?
Also, switching from wireless to 3g to 2g doesn't seem to help either.
Having the same problem with my X10! Will show updates for my existing apps but when I click on them to update it just states that they are downloading and they never update! I have power cycles the phone, stopped the update, installed the Google market updates and tried again, still the same result!
I have a rooted X 10 with 2.1.
Anybody else having the same problem?
totally weird, but everything seems to be in working order now. I didn't do anything at all either.
I had to connect to flashtool and reload the os to get it working again!
Tried finding just the market .she file but wasn't sure which one was the one that was messed up! Didn't want to make it worse so just flashed the whole OS

i faced the same problem too, i've been coping with this for about 2 months on CM6 and now it's kinda getting in my nerves. I can't download from the Market and it's annoying when i want to download some apps in a big hurry. I see that i'm not the only one facing this problem, but may i ask for help here? what can i do to fix this problem? you have my thanks
Did you try flashing the OS again or reloading the CM6 ROM? Mine has been working fine since I flashed my OS again.

Wipe data, then flash the ROM. Google Apps you need to wipe both cache partition and dalvik cache AFTER flashing the ROM.

I used to have this problem after extendend periods without a wifi connection... it seemed like my purchases would only download on wifi, whereas free apps would d/l on cellular networks
I do have Market problems from time to time, being unable to download. I've try pretty much everything but nothing helped, except: waiting! If apps fail to download constantly, they'll do just fine the next day ...
It seems that the Market has internal problems that cause this. Also I have this behaviour once in a while: viewing "my apps" in the Market will sometimes (!) only show me the Google Apps (Maps, YouTube, etc.) and all the ones that I purchased but *no* free apps at all.
Same again: waiting some time will restore the original (and correct) list.

I think that might just be the limitations of the Gapps we flash. I get those same issues, but a simple reboot fixes everything, nothing to worry about!

No problem in gaaps coz I had these problems in stock rom too

[Q] Pinnacle 1.2: random reboots?

Just flashed a few days ago and really enjoying this rom. As a lurker newb, I particularly appreciate the careful and exact instructions. Thanks!
Since there doesn't appear to be an "official" q&a thread for Pinnacle (and I don't have enough posts to ask in development):
I've been getting occasional random reboots since flashing to Pinnacle. Haven't had this with other roms. It doesn't happen while the phone is idle (to my knowledge), just sometimes when I'm doing something (but never the same thing twice). Is this a memory issue? Bad flash?
I searched the development thread and saw a couple of similar issues mentioned but no suggestions are offered...
Are you using TW launcher?
You have to tell more than that bud. When does it happen? Does it happen on fresh pinnacle flash without any TiBU restore whatsoever?

Sorry, new at this. I haven't tried it on a fresh flash without TiBu. Would it work to wipe cache and data or should I re-flash, too?
Edit: I'm using the Samsung Home launcher

yea do this
1. Try reflashing and use without TiBU for a couple of hours.
2. If you still have the problem then I am sorry my friend your phone hates TW4 launcher which is "Samsung Home"

Alright, I'll give it a try and report back. I can live without TW4 launcher if it means keeping the rom.
Haven't tried re-flashing yet, but I switched my launcher to ADW and haven't had a reboot since. Thanks!

Have you tried to ForceStop/ClearData of the messaging app? If so, try Pulling your battery and then reboot. If that doesn't work try a factory reset. if that doesn't work, run the RUU.
