Yes, it is possible. You can try use swap but you must have custom kernel. On stock kernel swap doesn't work and only scripts may you help

Which rom you are using??
I can play asphalt 5 smooth even in gingerbread roms...
Use froyo roms if you can live becase they are smooth for gaming..
There are so many ways to increase RAM but using some apps like Advanced Task Killer you can kill the background apps and increase your RAM.... Some apps like facebook, talk, Gmail run its self on background so if you don't use the apps then remove it.... By doing this your X8 RAM will be free.........
i am using gdx v18... but severally games are freezes and device gets restart while playing game. nfs shift is not playing on my phone!!! ram manager is pretty good but its not work for me
after closing background apps they start again... anyways thanks guys!!! till dont know what to do

I'm using minicm + ram manager pro for gaming.Really good combination.
If you are a gamer then I recommend you to get GingerXperia... Games are really smoth.......
And if you want to stop the apps which is opening its self then try it
1. Root Explorer -> Mount R/W
2. Root Explorer -> System -> Apps -> Now delete which apps are opening its self.........
I recommend you to delete Facebook, Gmail, YouTube......... And you first know one thing "No one can tell you which is the best ROM because it depends upon you"
I hope you understand.....

Hi guys & gals.
I am a huge user of apps. At any given moment my app count varies from 140 to 180. Trying out, leaving an app for week, replacing it, deleting some all that.
Still, out of the space available for me to install apps, I am barely using 380 mb of space. More than 1 gb still at my disposal.
Do we really need programs & features like apps2sd on our coveted SGS? Can somebody really think of totally disabling this feature from SGS?
This isn't a topic for the dev section, but hubly asked here because it requires a dev to do it.
Please post your app count & space count.
Not at all
My bad, phone reports 545MB/1.85GB for Program. 192 apps installed as of now.
No I move everything that installs to my sd back to internal memory, eg angry birds
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
The reason I ask this is its a pain in the A*S to answer every time an app asks me if it should be moved to the sdcard. Can we just tell ALL the APPS, this SGS, & DONT ASK.

Not using OCLF are you? That will show the size of your ext2 partition, not true disk use by apps.

Does anyone know a way to end the angry birds lag. Every time I play I get constant lag?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
When I used to play angry birds a lot, I would do:
1) Overclock the phone - this really helps a lot in terms of eliminating lag.
2) Turn off my data and wifi - this is so that there are no ads or banners while I'm playing (the ads really slow you down)
I also noticed that sometimes when I start a level (the bigger levels), if I wait a couple of seconds for it to load completely, the game runs a lot smoother.

Hi there... What does overlocking the phone mean?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
It means making the phone faster than it comes in the box. It makes it faster but ur phone may not last as long in battery and in total life
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
And how do u do that?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
U have to flash a custom kernal and download a app called setcpu, unless ur on cm7 that comes with some custom settings for that
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
That's basically how I fixed the lag also. The new versions also come with a toggle to turn the background off (which helps tremendously imo albeit looking ugly).
Currently, the only thing that bugs me in Angry Birds for the Aria is that my (maybe others' ?) screen is extremely sensitive. Just holding my finger still on the screen makes the sling shake, shiver, stutter, wiggle, etc. Makes it hard to do consistent shots.

IRT the sensitive screen, yes. same thing here and it's annoying as hell lol...
My experience has been that both Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja lag on the stock ROM. Once I switched to CM7, even though I didn't overclock (I used CM7's CPU manager to set max 600 Mhz, min 245 Mhz) there was no more lag in either game. CM7 will also get you awesome battery life when wifi is off.

Overclock to 806 and turning off mobile data

Get the Amazon App store version. I downloaded the Angry Birds Rio. No ads and it's sooo smooth. I'm overclocking at 806mhz but I think the ads slow it down. I'd imagine the ad free version of the original would be smooth too. Btw Rio is for free right now. Probably only 8 hours left?
Edit never mind. Only a little more than an hour left. Get it fast or you gotta pay
http://www.amazon.com/Rovio-Mobile-Angry-Birds-Rio/dp/B004SBS8LA/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_i
I got root tools <I think it was $2> and it has a feature to block MOST apps and also lots more it probably became one of my favorite apps after I bought it
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Just get DroidWall...
Instead of turning off data, you could just install DroidWall and block Angry Birds from using wifi or mobile data. That gets rid of the ads, and seems to work. I believe the app needs root to function.
I'm also running CM7 latest nightly and drowningchild SIO kernel OC'd over stock 600MHz.

maybe you don't have enough free RAM or are not overclocked. OC it and use SWAP if you're on a custom kernel. if it still doesn't work, try chainfire3d and some plugin (i don't know which one exactly).
No dude that's bullish** ,it ain't related to ram and that stuff
Dude I tried GTA III on a locked bootloader; it didn't work. Same thing that happened to OP.
On an unlocked bootloader with SWAP, it even got to the animations, and then quit itself.
However that being said, I am not an expert in the apps and games section and may be wrong. And I just realised that the first letters of the first three lines of my post spell D'oh.

I always strip roms of the unneeded stuff so I have plenty of space.
Eg: My phone only has one ringtone / alert tone.
I remove the default launcher, themes and useless apps.
When I put in facebook I stil have loads of space for other apps in system.
I put all apps that require root access in /system/app (root explorer, titanium backup, setcpu,
Also put some big games that lag if installed to sdcard.
Worth playing about with to get a perfectly running system.
Another example - I can play Jetpack Joyride with music on and it never lags or stutters. Some of my friends can't play the game at all.
Try it yourself - Just remove what you want to from the rom zip and replace at will.
Just don't exceed the size of he original rom zip.
Update fb app to latest, move to system partition & create odex file.
Then wipe dalvik & you should be fine

I am using Xperia SP (Indian version) C5302 Build No. 12.0.A.1.1211 Didnt update so far.
My problem is that the multitask feature is kinda like the old iPhones. When i switch apps, the previous app is terminated or loads from beginning.
For example.
I was surfing facebook from Chrome browser. I received a text. I checked my txt, replied, and when i switched back to Chrome browser the webpage started loading afresh. Is ONE webpage of Facebook too much for the "last year flagship defeater"???
While playing games, like Little Empire (online game) i was referring to online guide. So i switched to Chrome browser to see the instructions on how to defeat a boss stage. When i switched back to Little Empire the app booted from beginning. I mean wtf!! How am i supposed to refer to guides if the moment i minimize the game it switches off.
The phone has 1 GB RAM. What is the point of multitasking when apps dont really multitask. The moment u minimise its gone.
Now this doesnt happen all the time.
When i play Need For Speed Most Wanted, a game which is pretty demanding, it never closes. Even after i switch back to this game after texting , it resumes from pause menu.
Is there a way to make my phone multitask?
Some games don't work well with multitask, such as that random game you posted. Chrome is known to be ram intensive, and probably the only browser that causes launcher redraw. Use firefox instead.
If you don't like your phone, get something else...
I'm sorry bro but there's no way. The. Fact is that not our phone but android doesn't do full multitasking. Android keeps a program in memory only if the program demands it to. But even then it closes the program if another resource hogging program is loaded.
Sent from my C5302 using Tapatalk 2
I was just wondering if converting a app into a System App might help. (And restart the phone)
For a game it is not very useful because it will be loaded at boot but for a Launcher it might help
that a third party launcher is less often redrawn. I think Android will kill non system apps first so the Launcher might stay in your ram longer.
Please correct me if I'm completely mistaken
In the free RAM 200M can not be used because the Sony locked
So always because of insufficient RAM to kill other processes
The pre allocated ram is used by debug file system, logger, camera pmem etc you can't change it unless you have custom kernel

Use "Greenify" for stop selected user app to running in background (facebook, maps...) and "Autokiller Memory Optimizer" to change minfree value (lmk). So instead to kill apps when your RAM goes under 200Mo, you can change the value to 50Mo. It's a great tool !
