I just got a new Bionic and, being a noob, took the .893 OTA. Now I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to root it using 43V3R root
Again, I'm a noob so I can't post in that thead. Here's the error message(s) I'm receiving.

The phone has never been rooted and is at 5.5.893. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
use option 1
This should downgrade you to .886 and then root. after your sure root worked. accept the upgrade again.
Worked like a champ, thanks!
Glad your issue was fixed

Your picture isn't showing up. Upload the small version. Also is it an att update? They just send it to phones in mass.
I wouldn't do it. All the updates are repackaged by the devs.
You can download but don't update. You would need to go to stock gingerbread and also you have to relock bootloader. If you want to keep root you can reroot after you update. There is a guide in development under stickies that tells you the process.

I have a new update. I believe somebody have already installed. Hope so. Is this working with a cell rooted?

I have to assume that that is a 4.4.2 update.has far as I have been able to tell, if you rooted using SlapMyMoto and WPNoMo, then update, you will retain root access but lose your ability to disable write protection via rebooting into recovery.
Mmm i have unlocked bootloader with root through cwm.

Hi I've tried towel root, mod strings and the old active root method. None appear to work. I did previously root my active on 4.4.2 but can't for the life of me remember how?
Pointers would be welcome, Samsung appear to be the only device manufacturer still blocking device customisation.
Cheers in advance.

I've remembered that I used the cf-auto-root method by chainfire. I'll report back if it works with my current setup.

It worked! Officially most pointless thread. Sorry xda ?
hello,
i tried to update my phone's system via ota and got error when applying update on recovery. i tried the same way several times with no luck either with stock or philz recovery.
is this because of my phone's oem is unlocked or rooted?
is there a way to flash the ota package manually since i have captured the update.zip package from /cache folder?
thank you.

Nevermind
XDA is a good forum. I find many useful information for Android though I never once got solution for any of my questions. In fact, I got solutions from other website for my problems. Nevertheless, thanks to XDA.
Well... I could fix it myself.

Hello all
I have tried with lots of methods but withoput success, even with KingRoot but nothing came out.
I found this intresting topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...0-1-5-77-debloated-deodexed-zipalign-t3015281
But I prefer to stay away form flashing devices
Is there a way to Root (and maybe unroot, but rooting is more important) my device?
