How to revmove the default Vodafone (UK) rom...?

Hi...i'v now had my touch pro 2 going about 4 months now and i'v really enjoed the phone
...but thanks to this website i'v discovered i can have my phone looking like a customized handset...
here's the problem...
i currently have ROM version: 1.14.161.6...
any time i try to upgrade the latest Energy ROM it ends up with a connection error...
i just bassically want to know what im doing wrong if anything...
please help............

Have you applied the Hard-SPL first?

odafone removal
Firstly flash the phone by Hardspl- ing it, this allows you to install non certified roms onto it
secondly download and install energyrom ensuring you hae a fully charged battery
works a breeze

T-Mobile G1 questions

i have just buyed my nee htc dream, i have some questions
1) Can i put into my g1 android 2.0 / 2.1 ?
2) there is an app the make working the multitouch ?
3)there is a method do upgrade ram ?
4)if i put android 2.0 on my htc, is all working ?
any other suggestions for a noob like me ?

1) If it is rooted yes, I suggest Manup's or JAC's eclair
2) No, Multitouch requires a compatible kernel and an app that supports it. If you want it I don't think any eclair rims have it right now so I would go with cyanogen's 1.6
3) No there is not, there is also no way to put more rom
4) No, not everything will work. Some problems are camera and highquality Youtube/videos/3d games. To find all broken things you may look at the first post and find either the "broken" section or the "not working" section

what are the advantages of a rooted htc dream ?

Right now you should stick to a 1.6 ROM until 2.0 is stable. You can upgrade once its stable or you get enough experience to use it as it is now

My G1 wifi doenst work
PLEASE I NEED HELP....
i have a TP-LINK wireless router and ive tried connecting to it through my device.
it connects perfectly and it worked once i dont know how after trying for like a million times but once i disconnected it didnt after that
i read somewhere for link sys that by changing the wep key to wpa tpik or something like that
it still doesnt work
im hopeless, every gadget of mine works with the same TP link router
my psp worked my iphone does even my notebook
just that my G1 isnt working at all
it even gets an ip and an excellent signal strenght but the internet doesnt seem to work

I have a problem. I really like the 2.2 ROM's but I also need the camera.
Is there a bootloader or something like it.
So I can install and use the 2.2 ROM and whene I need the camera, I can switch to the 1.6

[Q] Apps being forced close

I have
Firmware version .... 2.1 update
Base band version ..... I897UCJH7
Kernel version ..... 2.6.29 atin/thor #voodoo_lagfix_3.0_v1.10
build number .... ECLAIR
my problem is that when using most apps i get a forced close and its not just one app. i have tried ROM manager to fix permissions and still no good. at this point im clueless. if someone has an idea i would really appreciate it.if you need more info then please let me know.

Its fixed , i reloaded with odin after doing a complete wipe and it seems to be doing ok now

Which Android version are you using I mean which ROM are you using in your HTC G1 I have the same problem when I m using 1.6 but now I upgrade my HTC G1 with gingerbread it solve the problem hope it helps your too

Maybe its Android 1.6
If you are using Android 1.6 of any 1.6 Roms like Cyanogen4. You will not find all the apps in the market place. Make sure you have at least Froyo, the best froyo rom for now is 'Froyo By Laszlo'. Its blazing fast, flash that rom and you will be able to download all the apps from market.
If you still want to still with a older version of android, try to download the .apk on your pc and transfer it to your phone and try to install it, it might work.
