HI,
The Note is nearly a Tab, so is there a Hack to bring the Homescreens in Landscape like the SG-Tab? I dont want to use a custom launcher...
Thx Blaui

I'd like landscape home screens, too. It's weird they didn't already give us this. Didn't the GSII have landscape home screens? I don't think it's just a tablet thing.

Indeed, Samsung should have given the option to have LANDSCAPE MODE / AUTO ROTATION even in the TOUCHWIZ homescreen, if at all they dare to call NOTE as a Tablet. Its strange that they have missed such an important need of their customers!!
By the way, Blaui, there are MODs available for this, however as obvious, you will need to root with custom recovery (CWM). May be this link will help you further:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...in-touchwiz-launcher-for-android-gingerbread/
and, I am sure for NOTE rooting and cwm, you can refer to this superb thread from Dr. Ketan: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
(Thanks Ketan, yet again)
Something weird happened. I have stock rom KL7 on my Note with CF-rooted kernel. I was playing Majesty, which is in landscape mode. I let the game run, as I was doing something else. After a while the game somehow closed itself and my home screen was in landscape mode! I turned the device around and it changed back to portrait and couldn't get it back to landscape.

Just a simple question if anyone is willing to help
How do I keep my phone on landscape all the time?
I have tried going to "settings -> align screen -> landscape" but everytime i close my keyboard goes back to portrait mode . Some say it's due to "clear type" i turned that off and still keeps going back to portrait [I do lot of texting]
So if anyone has any ideas and would like to pass on plz 'n thanks
If you rotate the screen in closed-keyboard(portrait) to landscape,it keeps all the time in LS mode all the time after(keyboard in/out doesn't matter).. You can do it using mortscript,SPB PocketPlus or in a different way.
I have got a opera mobile 9.7 beta and when you rotate screen on landscape with this software and press home button, your screen will be still on landscape
// It is some BUG of opera, but you can use it

And also i found program called GSen ot rotates your touch pro !
If you have sk tools (probably even the free version), use the shortcut manager to create a landscape mode shortcut, then copy it into \windows\startup. You should be good to go.

In changeScreen you have the choise which orientation you want to use by default. And you can make exceptions. For example, I hate it when bubble breaker starts a new game when I tilt my phone to far, so I've set it up in a way it only uses portrait.

hehe im trying to do the exact opposite
I want tf3d to be in portrait all the time, regardless of keyboard in or out.
If i figure out how, ill let you know because it should be easy then to convert to landscape only.

any luck bud?
Nope sorry
I had another thread going and their were a few suggestons but it didnt make any difference.
why not just use screenchanger 2.8 and set default only 2 the landscape of your choice (dont know if ur right or left handed)???
if u chose "enable" and "run on startup" wouldnt that fix everything w/o out using some stupid glich?
all the programs that i have used like gsen etc, dont override the keyboard slide. It seems to have some hardwired switch which overrides all of those programs and forces landscape, and then back to portrait when you slide it back in.
Hello.
I asked this already 100x,but I got no answer,so I try again.
Is there a way to disable automatic rotation when sliding the keyboard out?
I hate it.
If I need,I can do it manually(maybe 1% of the time I need landscape) and the rotation is unwanted slowdown.
Can someone modify the sensor driver or show me another way,how to achieve this please?
I'll be soooooo lucky then.
Thanks.
?
How do you use the keyboard if the screen is not in landscape mode ?
I doubt there's a know method, because you're maybe the only person in the word who don't want the landscape mode when using the keyboard..

Mostly I am using keyboard for ICQ for really short messages.
Few words I want to write will take 3 seconds normally, but with rotation it takes 20.
It makes me no problem to write "Hi" when notrotated screen.
If you screen rotation back and forth takes 17 seconds,
then there's something wrong with your ROM...
Anyway, I'll try to make a little app for you, but I don't know if it's going to work...

Please don't solve this. I want to solve just a simple thing - rotation disable.

I have the perfect idea.....if you don't like or use landscape and you don't want the screen to rotate......DONT SLIDE OUT THE KEYBOARD.....lol.....i'm sure you know there is an on screen keyboard to use in portrait mode when you want to text or instant message. Pretty simple.
I do find it very weird that something like that would bother you, besides the fact that the rotation can lag at times. You should have got an Iphone or something without a keyboard.
I couldn't find any way to make Windows stay in portrait mode, BUT... when you're in landscape it will stay in it! I mean, screen won't change to portrait, when keyboard will be closed. So maybe you want to stay in landscape instead? I've written tiny app to change rotation back and forth...
1. I bought TP,because I USE keyboard(One more thing that leads me to upgrade from Himalaya)
2.Thanks,that I know. Maybe the driver has hardcoded the angle to rotate(270dgs) and I want to change this angle to zero(or in a better way to disable it completely),but don't know how.
I want to use portrait instead of landscape, because is much comfortable for me for 90% of time and apps. I can easily switch to ls by pressing a button.
If you're like me and your screen keeps flipping/inverting on your note using a ROM with a CRT on/off animation, than you can use any launcher that adjusts the orientation of the phone automatically to fix as long as you don't have a security lock on your home screen. It worked fine using launchers such as ADW Ex, SPD Shell, and a few others I tried. All you have to do is flip the phone sideways and wait for it to fix. This is holding me over till a fix is presented.
Dan
I have my ADW launcher set to landscape, i still get the flipped over crt off animation.

Well, i keep pressing the home button on my flipped lockscreen till the Vilingo voice app starts. Command it to go "Home" landscape and DING.. back to normal
@EarlZ the Landscape thing isn't there to prevent the flipping but it can revert it.
This worked for me.

Flash the zip file via CWM. This will remove the CRT on and eliminate the flipped screen.

I guess we dont want to remove it, but fix it

It looks quite ****ty when it rotates

Then install another launcher, you don't have much choice lol
This sucks. My One X had a native rotated mode so when you used something like Rotation Locker to force it while in a 3rd party dock everything looked fine. When you rotate the M7 you can see parts of the adjacent screens. It doesnt make much sense because HTC sell the phone with a nifty little case that lets the phone sit on your desk in landscape but then you have to turn your head to use it?! Am I missing something here? guess Ill just have to put it in Car mode which seems to be the only landscaped aspect mode the phone supports.
*edit* Turns out putting it in car mode on the desktop works quite well now you can add whatever apps you want to the launcher...

Any way to hack 'n trick the phone to "think" it's in Car mode or on media link in order to enable landscape?

Well the phone will go into landscape if you are holding it that way and have auto rotate enabled. Then you can just turn car mode on by hitting the 'car' icon in the apps menu...
Not in Sense or Blinkfeed, it won't.....unless you're saying to enable car mode first.
Edit....tried car mode (never used it before)...it's more like an app dock. I'm looking to put Sense in landscape. Oh well.
