[Q] ICS onecosmic - camera photos on external sd - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have just flashed ICS 4.0.3 and the camera app does not have an option to choose where the photos I take should be saved. In Gingerbread I was able to choose between internal and external SD. With CM7 i was on top of that able to choose that my external SD is used as internal.
Here in ICS 4.0.3 Camera app does not have anything in the settings that would let me choose where I want my photos to be stored.
Does anyone have any clue if it is possible?

You can use a different camera app than the stock one..
I use Camera Zoom Fx (it's a paid app) .. far better than the current stock camera app.. it supports zoom and have many more features and you can choose the save location too..

I know... I have many other apps.. but Still use the stock one as the main and usually store images on ext sd for safety...

You can change the SD card to be internal memory by doing the following system settings > storage > storage configuration > use internal storage. Works fine for me.
no such settings in ICS here

Hell Yeah. You can move between tablet and phone mode or a hybrid of the two as well as per app density changes. i use this with the Thor V11 kerenl and its about 40% quicker than stock ICS and so many new features. You won't regret the move.
sad that I cant see any paranoidandroid rom 0.2 video on youtube.
BTW Thor V11 kerenl - what it exactly does?

There are loads of v0.1 examples on there, even the official thread has some however v0.2 has a lot more features and is smoother. If I have time I will make one tonight after work and upload for you. No guarantees though.
The kernel acts as a mediator for your programs and your hardware. First, it does (or arranges for) the memory management for all of the running programs (processes), and makes sure that they all get a fair (or unfair, if you please) share of the processor's cycles. In addition, it provides a nice, fairly portable interface for programs to talk to your hardware.
There is certainly more to the kernel's operation than this, but these basic functions are the most important to know. Obviously each kernel does things in different ways however I found Thor V11 with undervolting and overclocking to be by far the best.
follow the instructions in this link to turn your sd partition into internal memory.

OP-Do you research before doing anything dangerous. Since this threat is for Desire HD and not Galaxy Note. Be very careful.
If you have that 32GB micro-SD, you can use it as your phone's internal SD card with an easy vold.fstab swap. Your reduced capacity internal storage would then become your "external" SD card. This link should help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377628

[Q] photos in gallery reappear after reboot

Hi guys,
I have an optimus 2x running cm7.
When I delete a photo from my gallery it reappears after I reboot my phone. I am able to delete the photos through the file manager and it will remain deleted if I do it that way but is there a way to have the photos remain deleted through the gallery app. My photos are currently on an external sd card as I have my camera saving it straight there.

Sent from my Optimus 2X with Paranoid Android. Thanks button is here ↓ !!! Just use it
try to use sdmaid from playstore
This is for me one of the reasons I switched back from CM7 to stock rom Django 1.1 with stefan's 2.0 kernel

Cromi rom doesn't have default gallery?

I'm using the bacon reader app (reddit) and it allows you to upload pictures but a hen I click the Button to do so it says it can't find the gallery.
I've noticed that I pretty much have to open all images through es file Explorer cause the "gallery" option won't work
If you didn't install Gallery when you flashed CROMi-X it won't be there... Is it in your app drawer? If not you didn't select it in Aroma.
Re-flash the rom and select in on the Google Apps page. Or install QuickPick which is much better but I have no idea if it works with bacon reader.

I had that problem until I did a full wipe of system, data, and SD card. Be sure to test your external SD card first though, as your tablet will be a blank empty slate after fully wiping.

[Q] New camera photos/videos to external SD

Hello everybody,
I recently started using my rooted XT1068 with CM12 to record videos. After about 10 minutes of 720p-video my internal sdcard gets full. Great.
So I tried to figure out how I could save new photos and videos to my 16gb external sd. In the camera app? No. In the phone settings/storage? No. So i tried some another camera apps (CameraMX, Camera Next, Open Camera, CM Camera and serveral others...), but unfortunately none got a working "save to path" option for external sdcard. I even tried to ln -s and mount the DCIM path to my external sdcard in terminal emulator, but I didn't get it to work.
What else can I do to save my new camera files to my external sd? I appreciate any kind of tips and tricks. Thanks in advance.
Folder mount from play store or xposed

In the camera app there is an option in settings to save to SD Card. It's right below the location option.

I just tried it. And it didn't work. After a restart it seems working, but all files are just stored on internal sdcard. I think fuse might have blocked it.

Not on my cm12 camera app. (com.android.camera2 v.2.0.002), not on google camera (com.google.android.GoogleCamera v 2.4.025), not on open camera (net.sourceforge.opencamera v. 1.23).
Is there anyway to install/flash the camera apk you are talking about?
Edit: I flashed moto camera from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59625810&postcount=19
I was able to change the save path to external sd BUT it keeps changing it to the internal storage every time I take a picture.

[Q] [Help] Can anyone enable app to write on sdcard?

as the title said. i want to enable write to sdcard, and the camera photos too.
i've seen that even after sdcard inserted and install apps,it's not saving files in sdcard (like game's data in /android/data folder)
also that whatsapp folder still on internal, and so the camera's DCIM folder.
in Indonesian's Forum, someone said to enable that, we need to flash lollipop that 4gb version over our's 8gb version. That way, all the games with big data automatocally saved in sdcard , just like my kitkat and JB old phone.
i am asking, is there any other way to enable that without flashing the 4gb version of lollipop?

Search for "foldermount" app... I will not explain here because I want you to do your own research
But basically it is the solution to the problem you have. Although I advise you to use the 4gb rom that natively supports SD cards and stores everything on SD cards
