Rom, kernel, settings for best battery life.

Hi Everyone.
The best mix of that and settings for everyday usage(not gaming) calls, 3g internet browsing(mostly),bit of radio FM, music player.
Lots of Devs say theirs roms are last for 2-3 days, I have tried a few and is hard to survive 10 hours

Which rom and kernel are you using ?????

most roms for me survives for about 18 hours or so none have reached 2 days maxed at 1 day maybe the 2 days they are talking about is when you dont touch the phone in2-3 days

Mostly GDX v28 and Alfs v08, now I am on PrimeHD v9 and nAa 11.
I tested couple of others including CM9s but I change them cos battery reason.

Which rom and kernel is/was best for you I mean battery on it is/was last longer?

Well well.. I am using Gingerzaraki with Alfs and I get backup of mostly 1 day and above with normal usage(sms,phone,wifi,games). I charge my phone every alternate day.
On GDx and PrimeHD I used to get mostly 18-20 hours

maybe you can try gingerbread ROM
liki Gdx, MiniCM, Gzaraki
because ICS still get battery drain (little) average = 25 hours

i think 3g is a huge battery drainer, it doesnt matter in which rom you are, anyway, here are some tips i found once...

I am on gingerbread only and never had more than 20 hours, but sometimes i can not get 10 hours. ICS even less than that:crying:

That I think 3g drains most.
I am on Presto by Haka rom and nAa v13 Ondemand governor, CPU 19-600 MHz and undervolted
22 hours and got 11% left
But without 3g, WiFi only. I'll see tomorrow with 3g

Minicm7 naa
3g ON everytime, wifi 15 min, 15 min of calls, ultra brightness, facebook (friendcaster), google+, no games, undervolt + smartass v2 122-748, swap, tapatalk and bla bla bla
PD: 7 hrs airplane mode
PD2: is werid but when i turn off 3g my battery drain fast (18 hrs with the same configurations)

Rom Presto and nAa v13 settings as above.
No WiFi, 3g only (but not to much)- 8h 30min and 20% left
Time to test next one: Shin7 + nAa11

I wish for your battery.my battery lasts 7 hours of normal usage
Thinking of buying moto defy mini.it isnt plastic as x8.

FroyoPro with Alfs8 is a really good combination for both good battery life and good performance for daily use.

Phone IDLE (screen off) use a lot battery. Screen on uses less.

Can anybody explane this to me?

dont know why i have 2g only with wifi..... full bars..
Help plz. Is it the bb and rill.because i see that it is a good one 0725 v10d and rill v10d
Help/some one explaining why should be great.or a better baseband for standby?!?!.,

Cm7 build 128 kernel a new one. Euh guestmade one for cm7 its great.
but my problem is also i only have for cpu gouverner option performence or powersave.... so always powersave...
But yeah its anoyng that the idle(or screen off) is soo bad... hate it...
Maybe full wipe again and then titanuim restore....
ow wait i tryed that to have more gouverner options but didnt work...
maybe system wipe also dont know.
I want to know if people have same problem....

Can't have more Governor than Performance & Powersave...too long story...
If you're on CyanogenMod 7 build 128, you should flash the latest Temasek 135 build with another kernel like:

I will downlaod the lastest one soon.
But just installed the new simbiosis (i only remebert guest, buts guest oc app lol) kernel its good. Had etana but i didnt understand the app. And the guest app hase. Love it. But i will report back when i have new build/final build on my phone with full wipe etc...
but no easy explanation why idle take so much battery souldent because its screen off etc...??? Because i dont it. Normal screen is the most eating battery thing. have max 300mhz screen off ams still eats battery like fat women cholate in the dark. LoL
Yeah sorry but my first kernel was one with powersave and sinds i didnt have any more options. But yeah its not the main problem...

Did full wipe... system format. And installed cm7 135 kernel and had to fix my sd.. format it etc...
But still bo change phone idle eats a lot off battery

new question..
Did any one test baseband 725 v10d and rill vs 218 v10(something) and rill?
because i still have bad standby phone idle eats more then when screen is on wtf....
Maybe i should test the 218baseband
because dont like bad standby.... its freaking me out....
would be easy if some one tested it. On cm7 europe.

Sorry didnt watch my emails. Euh acualy noo.... i justbguess the phone is bad i mean lg.....
I dont know how to fix problem but i still can get 3h screen on and 15-30h on time..... it is bad but yeah i must be happy....
Like the new nexus lg dont know how to save battrry. I already know that every lg i had had terible standby time etc.... still hasnt changed....
I will move/back on to samsung, have great standby time and screen on good also....
Even i dont like amoled....
But to get back i just say lg sucks.... but i dont know if ics changes my bad standby time.... etc... didnt flash it yet, still waiting for a bug free one. (And dont have time to mess or have a 50% working phone
But i will never get if why mobil standby and idle eat the most of my battrry, and wifi also btw, but screen noting.... (but that is what the stock battery info thing says can that it is wromg but still....) os did you try diverent roms? And see, i have no time for that with svjool etc...

Thanks bro and agreed with you my galaxy fit had awesome standby I also will never buy lg Samsung gives best standby have galaxy s advance it's awesome with heavy usage it can Carry 2 days without any charge and that also on stock and lg I tried almost all roms lg is really bad at making phones especially Android

need help
i bought my SGA last year and i flash roms..
currently im on SGSII V9 4.0.3 rom
Now a days battery is getting drained very quickly[since 7days]
before a week my phone used to give 12hours of stand by time with music,internet(on wifi,not much time i will browse) and apps running
but now when im using internet and music...im getting only 3-4hours..
is my battery drained? if it is then i should buy the same 1350mAh battery or can i go for >1350mAh

yes continuous use of internet .... battery lasts for 2-3hrs,,,, urs is a good one...... i am using ace for a year now and i know that this much is one of the better performance by battery.......
dont go for any battery like 2450mah for ace........ they are fakes...
BUY ANOTHER BATTERY OF ACE FROM SAMSUNG......if u need it...
as i can get charge whenever i need it i havent used it.... also i use flight mode when hearing music or when i think there is no need of others to call me

.i have tried speriance rom , apocalypse and droid ace all consume a huge amount off battery .......
.i just want battery to last atleast 24-26 hrs
my usage is whatsapp( data network on allday) and a little bit of calling

The myth 2 is the best for battery and speed. I use it every day with wi-fi or data activate using whatsapp, sms, and music without battery problems
But i haven't activate the background data!

which app2sd script will suitable for myth 2

Correct me if I'm wrong but CM7 consumes more than stock (bloatware free), so I'd suggest optimized stock roms instead if you want battery. There are a2sd for stock as well.

I have no complaint's about using Stocklite V7.1, I too use whatsapp all day and I usually have around 30% left.

I'm using the myth 2 for about two weeks now and i have to say it's one of the best stock based rom i've ever seen.
A2SDGUI is preinstalled in this rom and working perfectly for me.

With data network enable all day I don't think there's any ROM can make your battery last for 24-26 hrs. I think The Myth 2 probably the best ROM about battery, but I don't think it can make your phone survive for 24-26 WITH data always on...

i've been using Apocalypse for a while now can get around 24-30 hours out of it with 3g n wifi on most of the day but i have underclocked with setCPU to save that bit more power and dont use video on there that much

Stocklite is the best!
Even a Adrenaline rom is pretty good.
Go for a stock rom, You'll get more battery life

Myth 2 best
I am using Myth rom for more than 2 months now without any problems..................try it once i think u will never go to any other

I am also searching the answer for this question that is there any rom can last about 12 hrs continuous data uses on 2G?
But unfortunately there is no rom can fulfill your expectation.
But here i have some suggession
Install stocklite 7.1,battery extender version 1.5, slaidboost 480 and set a profile of underclocking cpu in set cpu.
This is enough for it or otherwise
You have to change battery with more mAh like 1600 mAh or simply change the phone.

Problem with OB batterylife.

I have huge problem with my OB batterylife , my phone discharged in time about 5/6h , but in this time i dont use him. I dont know , it`s problem with battery or phone maybe?My OB have android 4.2.2 with zerogravity kernel. Today i unpluged him from charger at 9 o`clock and.. at 12o`clock he have only 50% battery..

If you are running a rooted OB, download "No-fills CPU Control" from the Play Store.
Set the governor to "interactive" or "performance", and the scheduler to "row" or "cfq".
Press "Apply", then exit.

He didn't say much (probably not enought to help him a lot) but at least he said that he uses a ZGK so in this case your reply is not completly right. Some (I think most) us OndemandX by default and that is already a good one, better than interactive. I think best might be LionHeard, but that might be different with each kernel and for sure how he uses it.
BTW 5/6h might be OK, at least for the first CM10.1 versions, I think even with the latest versions 9h is very good, especially if you do some gaming. So maybe don't look first at the governor, select the right ROM first. Maybe a newer version, a different one or maybe just CM10, I heard some of the newest ones are rather battery friendly.

check in Battery Usage if the phone have a wakelock, use BetterBatteryStat to find what is a wakelock.

I gonna try a official ICS rom , maybe this be helpful?

Of course. All CM10, CM10.1 roms are battery drainers!

i support the post above me, try IZS or Marvel roms, they have great battery life. i used them both and with friendly usage i get my phone running all day from 7 am when i disconnect it untill midnight and even more.
by friendly usage i mean : about 15 short calls, around 1 - 2 hrs of wifi, few small DL, texting a bit, around 1/2 of gaming.
this is what i get with the roms i mention above.
BTW dont forget if your OB is old enough, there might be a problem with the battery, since all batteries have limited charging cycles, depend on the batttery maker and so on... bla bla bla...(dang it reminds me to search for a battery in nearby shops here lol)

My OB have 5 months Hmm i use my OB only 4 texting about 150/170 ina day and music about 2-2.5h ina day. Now i use cm 10.1 and this is terrible.. with this batterylife. I thinking about ICS , i think it can be better than CM for now.

150 messages a day? and 2 hrs of music? dang bro you type a lot, so suerly when screen is on, you drain battery, and music also drain power,.
yesterday i travel for 6-7hrs which in that time i went out home with fully charged batt, used a bit of wifi and music for around 2 hrs and 2-3 short calls, the rest of the time the phone was idle. my batt went from 100% down to 58-60% in all of the travel hrs.
so my conclusion is that: be smart as you smart phone, and do compromises with usage in order to get great battery life. oh and its not so bad to have a charger or that handy battery pack that you can use to charge your phone from.
since im not a heavy phone user most of the day when im out at work, i manage to get up to 24 hrs of battery per day. but when i mess with my phone on travels or so, i get around 9 hrs of usage until i get to 45-50% with the Marvel and IZS roms.
