My friend wants to revert his phone back to stock from CM7 after getting tired of the bugs that are still in CM7. Unfortunately, I can't find any backup of the stock ROM that he used to have on his CWM. After googling a bit I couldn't find any more information about how to revert, since everyone suggested that i simply restored from the former backup. If there is a way to revert without it, it would be awesome if anyone of you can point me in the right direction about how I should do that!

I've tried to open SmartFlash, but it didn't recognize the phone even though I used the LG drivers that was linked to in the guide.
I even tried to flash the ROM found in this thread/reply but only ending up in a boot loop. Is this because of some EXT3/EXT4 format problems...?
Anyways, have reverted back to CM7 now and are still looking for help...
You could flash the latest leaked stock V20o from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408919 - using CWM.
revert from cm7 to stock
.i used smartflash but im still on caynogenmod 7.2 so there is nothing happend
what to do
If you used smartflash you can't be on cm7 anymore. There must have been an error during process and flash had abort before the end.
Just redo it, and be sure you phone was correctly detected.
And try eventually nvflash to come back to stock ROM. See dedicated threads.
I used the link provided by nundoo and it worked. Thanks for all your suggestions!
Striatum_bdr, I didn't do anything to the phone with smart flash because I couldn't start the process (the button was grayed out and I couldn't select a COM port). Thanks anyways!

So if I reinstall the stock ROM from another Galaxy Ace (same one this thing shipped with), the phone doesn't boot, at all.
I put Cyanogen back on, and it boots fine, but my data connection never works and my voice/messaging connection constantly craps out and I need to reimage again. (Weird...if I go back to a working image, then reinstall my current one, it works fine.)
I'm at a loss...but I'm only one step away from returning it anyway.

Something like that, only it doesn't loop. When I load up a stock rom, it simply hangs at he startup "Samsung Galaxy Ace" screen.
after installing your stock rom wipe your cache and dalvik it will work , if not , use odin and flash a different stock firmware first may be KPN or KPH
Irishred is that the stock koodo 2
3.4 rom? I've been looking everywhere for that, could you post a link maybe as I'm sure there are others looking for this also.
Thanks

Well, if you can't flash the stock rom, there's only one thing to do then.
Use ODIN. T_T
It'll push your recovery back to the stock crap too, but then again, there's no reason why it shouldn't work, anyway.
there might be case that it works but you are too lazy to find solution for it to work
what problem you have when you flash stock roms with odin??
You have to flash via Odin, because your internal memory was formated to ext and the stock rom uses a different (I don´t really know which is used by stock rom, but you can google it.)

This is what I was suspicious/worried about. Okay...now to learn to use Odin.
I just found this on sampro.pl I'm at work now so I can't download. Have a look

EXT format issue ?
Just a thought...
I once installed a Cyanogen rom on a Galaxy S that changed something in the memory - and stock rom was not working afterwards. I had to go back to Cyanogen. Too bad if you're planning on selling it in stock rom condition.
The only way back was to find a stock rom that contained the whole package - including correct pit file, pda, modem and a repartition of memory.
Flashed via Odin.
Is it a one file/multiple files package? Kernel update?
I hope any of this is can help you solve the problem.
It is a one file package. Password is sampro.pl. It is multi-csc for koodo & telus. Mine loaded up telus so i had to change it. It works great. I will go back to myth ics rom. Its just nice to know that if I need to return to stock I can.

Wow, been looking for this
Will give it a try, Thanks!
Edit: Works great, all back to stock Koodo (temporarily). Thanks again for posting Spider, XD
just to add...
I experimented with a few custom ROMs but they rendered some functionalities un-usable. I tried to recover from a full system and data backup which failed.
From that: 1)Followed instructions from androidadvices.com (androidadvices.com/update-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-xwks9-gingerbread-235-firmware/-- page 2) But used stock ROM for Koodo (GT-S5830D S5830DTLKI4) from spidre9909's post;
-- a download link to ODIN is included...
2)Rooted the phone and re-installed Clockwork;
3)Restored my full backup created just before my trials with custom ROMs
Now I am back! At this point, follow unroot procedures — if you want to…
Hope this helps...
DXKPB is the firmware I know that includes data.rfs (which means your /data would get formatted with rfs, and that means stock ROM will love your phone again)

it's interesting you mention that your wireless connection doesn't work properly. I flashed the newest firmware (something from vietnam I think) and the same thing ... my connection keeps waffling back and forth from H to 3G to nothing at all.
Hi Guys I'm a complete noob so please no pointing and laughing!!! lol
I recently bought a second hand K990 which was rooted. It was advertised as a k999 and me rushing, flashed a stock k999 firmware to the fone without checking properly, I have looked but cant seem to figure out how to flash it back to standard k990 firmware any help would be much appreciated, but please bare in mind I'm new to this, I dont want custom roms or root just a stock standard K990
cheers guys

Wait, did you mean p990 and p999
?
yes sorry p990 and p999.
I think I have flashed the wrong rom for my model, all my serial numbers and paperwork say p990 but it wont run any p990 roms just boot loops all the time I can get it to run p999 roms but it has the unknown baseband issue? can anyone help?
I'm flashing with cwm...
The easiest way to whip it back into shape is probably to NVFlash an old rom, root it and install CWM and continue from there.
Sorry do you have P990 or p999? And is a stock P990 or stock p999 in your p990/p999? I'm confused at the moment.

Sorry forgot to post that I managed to get it back by using this exact method installed CWM and flashed an old rom to the phone, then wiped the lot including cwm I was then able to connect to nvflash, it wouldn't do this while I had the p999 rom installed, once NVflash was done installing a stock rom I managed to boot up and now have the fone working thanks for all the intended help guys ... I dare not touch it now as it's quite finnicky and I dont want to mess it up again! so looks like Froyo for me lol thanks again.
Hello there. I am running the official ICS XBSA404 port on my Trill, flashed with the LG tool. I am having some problems (camera is upside down and I have low ram). Phone is rooted without CWM recovery (for some reason it is impossible to install CWM recovery on it, it soft bricks). Can anyone PLEASE help me get back to stock?
Many thanks in advance...

Answering your question, I don't have service with a company in the U,S,A, anymore. Now I'm here just on vacations. I just purchased this Thrill without testing a sim card (I won't pay that expensive roaming from my overseas carrier). I plan to unlock it and use it there.
Thanks for the above link but... will this work on a Thrill (not optimus 3d)? I haven't tried the custom ICS yet, I would like to if it doesn't have those problems with the 3d camera. Can I move from the rooted Official ICS (no CWM) to the custom ICS?

I don't think the 3D camera is fixed on any of the custom ones yet. I haven't checked in a bit, but from the last one I tried it wasn't. You're probably going to have to use CWM or TWRP to flash the custom ICS ROM as well.
The LG Optimus 3D and the the LG Thrill are essentially the same phone. The LG Thrill is the US version of the Optimus 3D. Those instructions will work with your phone. If you would like to install CWM you can use the following instructions to install the recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859662
The download link is for the .apk file and is best downloaded from your phone, if that is possible. You need to be rooted for this to work. I am using the following ROM on my LG Thrill with excellent service.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956347
If you decide to use that ROM or one of the other Custom O3D ROMS, you will need a baseband called "LGP920AT-00-V18a-AMA-XXX-OCT-28-2011+0_CP.fls" to work in the US, found here
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zv3qpd6jylvqg31/9jm_8omNov (Thanks Tactics119)
When you take the phone back overseas, you will need to change the baseband to one that works for your area. You can determine which one you need in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958484
You can obtain whichever baseband you choose, from the same place you got the previous one.

No. You have to install the baseband and the original ICS port through lg flash tool if you are updating from gingerbread. If you already installed ICS then all you have to do is install the baseband through the same tool. But if you are flashing only the baseband, when it finishes it's going to say invalid ap path. When it tells me this, it flashed my baseband, but it normally has an AP (in this case, ICS) along with the CP (normally the baseband) which is why I think it gives this error message. So you can just restart your phone.
Hello people,
when i got my lg 2x speed last week I updated to ICS via the lg update tools, it worked fine so far but I wanted something else. Came home today and wanted to flash Eaglesblood rom (v. 4.0.4.) booted into cwm (v5.0.2.8) and after formatting and selecting the rom it said something like: "code 7 installation aborted". I thought it may be an old cwm so I wanted to flash cwm touch 6.0.1.2. Guess what... installation aborted. Now I don't care too much about the installation but when I reboot it's stuck on the pink LG logo (30 min waiting and no change whatsoever seems pretty stuck to me).
Has anyone got an idea how to fix this? Maybe the the AllInOne toolkit with kdz + BB files? Pls help me.
You flashed an Old gingerbread bootloader ROM since you upgraded too ICS with the tool you now got the new ICS bootloader and now your partition layout is messed up use the AIO (all in one toolkit) @ the android development forum follow the tutorial an nvflash to the new ICS bootloader this will fix your problem abd don't try to flash old bootloader roms again on a nee bootloader.
Beware : when nvflashing make a backup of your whole internal sd card since your sdcard will get fully wiped.

Well, I succeded to get it booting by changing the partitions and flashing cm10.
Is there a way to get back to GB btw, I fellt it quite a bit more responsive and less laggy.
If there is anyone still wandering around these old relic halls I have a quick question. My aunt just got the LG Thrill 4G P925 from a friend. It keeps saying there is not enough storage and will not install any apps from the market or anything at all. I intended to just root it and flash a custom CM Rom or maybe another stock rom. I think that would be fine for her. I expect whatever is wrong is probably software related as storage in settings shows plenty of internal and SD storage.
I rebooted into recovery and well, would you look at that? It booted into CWM v6.0.1.9. Ah hah, It is already rooted with Super User installed but it is running FROYO with Baseband version 01.1042.00 I believe I need to update to the newest baseband? I assume that once I do that I can flash any ole rom via CWM just like I would normally do. Where do I get this update tool to update to the newest baseband? Is there just a way to flash that via CWM as well as that would be ideal. Working on these old low end spec phones is difficult as there tends to not be much support or development. Any ideas or help would be great. I was glad to see it was rooted but I hate to have to update via LG Tool and then have to reroot.... ugh. Thanks if your out there!!!!
Alot of these links are dead. I have the LG Flash tool but I'm not sure what to do with it. I guess I need a. .dll file but I'm not sure which one. Or perhaps a .kdz file?

Is it not possible to just flash a baseband in recovery? I've done it on the Nexus, my G2, etc. If I could flash the right baseband I could just flash an updated rom and be done with all this....
