So I installed redy2006's CM7 kang & nova 11c kernel. For last 2-3 days, whenever I switch ON my screen after timeout, my phone takes a bit longer time to switch on the screen than usual & also I always get "SD card unexpectedly removed" & I cant access my SD card. I have to then reboot the phone & the same thing happens again & gain.
Can anybody please tell me what can be the problem here?
Do you have any app related with tools/utilities?

I only have ROM manager installed. OK, for last few hours, my device is running fine now. No issues with SD card also. Really dont know what was the problem.
Anyways, thanks redy2006 for the updated kang. I will flash it today only.
I was getting the same issue, but with ALL CM builds..
I get this on the latest #26 nightly (with nova v11c), and also on earlier builds. For some reason, I can't enable logging on this kernel, so any chance someone can provide a log with the problem reproduced so we could take a peek at what might be happening?
I've just reinstalled #26 but without the nova kernel, and I've stopped receiving these notifications. Can anyone confirm that they are receiving them *without* the nova kernel?
same here. Found that is kernel-related. Never happened with CM kernel

When I try to enable WIFI on my G1, for a couple of seconds it says: enabling WIFI, but then the phone becomes unresponsive (for about 1 second) and it reboots.
IIRC the problem started when I upgraded to the new CynogenMod ROM (4.1.99, but not sure), but it doesn't seem to be linked to the ROM.
I have always used CyanogenMod and update with every new version.
I tried to go back to the default HTC rom, but this doesn't solve the issue.
Does anyone know what may cause this or give me some tips on how to debug this?
I tried to run 'adb logcat' but it shows no info.
The exception browser in the CyanogenMod is also empty.
I don't know what else I could try.
Some extra info:
HSPL 10.95.3000
Radio 2.22.19.26I
CynogenMod ROM 4.1.99 is not the newest. Wipe, flash the htc image, flash cyan's newest and try wifi again.
No, I know, but I think that's when the problems started.
Latest version I installed was 4.2.13
I have installed the RC7 dreaimg.nbh now (used to root the G1), and when I try to enable WIFI on this rom, the phone doesn't reboot, it keeps working, but I get an error saying that WIFI could not be started.
I'm also having problems with wifi causing random reboots. For me it usually happens once a day if wifi is enabled and not at all if its disabled. Once the phone reboots, it hangs at the android screen and I have to do a battery pull to reset it. The problem also appears to be rom independent. Very weird, it has started happening in the last few weeks and I can't think of anything that has changed.

This is consistent with my experience as well. By far, the VAST majority of spontaneous reboots that have occurred on my phone have been when using wifi. Some of the older Cyan ROMs were really bad about this, but this continues to occur (although much less frequently) regardless of the ROM. I am presently using SuperD and have had one reboot in the past week.
This seems to happen most often when using the wifi heavily; for instance, I get a reboot probably every 3rd or 4th time when I'm doing my weekly podcast downloads. I don't remember any reboots when just surfing the web or downloading apps, though.
I have never had this happen when I was running cyan.
Are you wiping everything? Even EXT and dalvick?
Are you using any other apps when this is running and rebooting? Perhaps an offending app?
You should also open ADB and run ADB Logcat and try to replicate the issue and try to get a log submitted so the dev can help determine what is causing this issue.
I wiped everything and even without any apps installed, it just reboots.
adb logcat doesn't show a thing when the phone reboots, it just exits.
G1 wifi has stopped working and has 'error' listed underneath wifi option in wireless setting...
Also, the sd card doesn't mount... what's worse is this problem is intermittent..
I'm currently using FroyobyLaszlo 5 and the problems are both still here.. I was using cm6.1 for awhile and eventually tried a couple other roms, but the wifi error and sdcard problem carry over thru each flash. I forget which rom i flashed to where the wifi function broke.. I've flashed back to the cm6.1 2708port nandroid backup I saved (which was the last working rom where I had working wifi) and still the wifi error! I've tried a few different kernels as well and still nothing..
Can somebody help me get these fixed?? ..thanks

UPDATE 1: I began to re-flash the original tmobile nbh image in order to restore the phone and start all over again, but now I'm stuck with that image flashed and can't access fastboot on the phone anymore.. The phone probably needs to be re-rooted now, but I can't access wifi (which means I can't sign in to google in order to get to the phone's desktop and then perform the root procedure).. Now I can't flash anything!! HELP plz???

UPDATE 2 - Ok, I got everything (hboot 1.33.0013d , radio 2.22.28.25, laszlo 5.1 rom) flashed back to the G1 again, but the wifi error persists and so does the intermittent sd card issue.. I think the sd card problem may be hardware related..sometimes It'll work for a minute after I remove the card and re-insert it, then it'll stop working again..
*edit* Can someone or has someone already made a patch to disable the function of that little trigger inside the micro sd card reader on the g1?? That little switch that pushes in when u close the sd card cover.. Apparently, this might cause my sd card to not function, so I figured that somebody may have made a patch to disable this and make the sd card work outright without that little button inside needed..
First, try a SuperWipe. Sometimes junk gets left around even after a wipe through recovery that causes very weird problems.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834812
I haven't heard of a patch to do that. It might not even be possible if it is implemented in hardware. You could try opening the phone and modify it to always keep that trigger closed, as a last resort.

ok i'm gonna try to flash superwipe2 but atm the sd card isn't readable even in recovery, so I'm gonna have to play around and hope I get lucky and the sd mounts in order for me to flash superwipe... if/when it happens, i'll post an update..
finally managed to superwipe AND re-flash laslo 5.1..
the g1 still has the wi-fi 'error' and of course the sd only works intermittently.. I lost count how many re-boots and how many times i re-inserted the microSD card until i finally got it to work long enough to flash it this time
so what files are involved in the wifi anyway?? Can I manually replace a driver perhaps?... or something?!?
The wifi kernel module is located at "/system/lib/modules/wlan.ko". This really sounds like a hardware problem if it is occurring in recovery too. Have you tried ROMs other than laslo? Try a stable CyanogenMod or BiffMod ROM.

thnx , I'll read up on this..
and also, I've used cm6.1, 2708port cm 6.1, and sparksmod rom 2.. i had biffmod installed for like a minute or so before i switched to something else due to the wfi error.. maybe i could try it again, I can't remember if there was something else wrong with biffmod or not, but I do know the wifi issue carries over thru different roms.. pretty much on all these roms I've experienced lag, fc's, broken apps, battery drain, and now the wifi problem and sdcard problem..

so can I download and replace the wifi kernel module with any one I can find? or does it need to be a specific one? I still need to fix wifi... thnx
No, the wifi kernel module has to be built specifically for kernel. You can try flashing a different kernel (with a wifi module) though. Here are some to try:
2.6.35.11 by Pershoot: http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=1563
2.6.34.8 by ezterry: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11565574&postcount=670

for 2.6.35.11 pershoot, I get the 'failed' error when flashing thru recovery.. i used the nfs_32b_radio2708.zip
for 2.6.34.8, I've flashed and rebooted and still the same wifi error =(
Is the "wifi module" already included in each kernel zip?? Or do I need that too??
thnx

Read through the whole post again. That isn't the kernel.

It is included with the kernel.
a user on another forum posted "Could you guys check if your wlan kernel module is loaded? Open up the terminal emulator, then su to root and run 'lsmod'?
For me, I get 3 modules now: wlan, ramzswap and ipv6.
When it was broken for me, I didn't have wlan."
well I don't have wlan listed either, even though i have the wlan.ko file in /system/lib/modules...
EDIT: finally got 2.6.35.11 flashed and installed, but still same wifi error =(
I have just developed this problem as well...on one of 7 phones. I have taken it back to 29 on 2 ocassions, bringing it back to ezterrys gingerbread. at 29 I get wifi error.... at cm6.1 I get wifi error....and at GB also get wifi error. Looking in logs, I see (in RED) 00:00 00:00:00.000 E/WiFi Service (132) on next line (also in RED) Failed to Load Wi-Fi driver.
Reading thru these forums..I see a few folks having this same error....but no one seems to have a fix.
Can anyone shed some light on this topic...
Thanks a million.
Hello I am quite worried about my phone.
After a little while with a new rom installed widgets will FC and stop working and some apps will disappear (and if on home screen you see default image and clicking it it says"Application not found") This usually (if not always) happens after the phone for some reason thinks it is the first time it has been switched on and goes through the initial setup (asking about language, setup accounts, wifi etc)
I first noticed this happen when I had darkys 9.3(i think maybe 9.somehting anyway) and when I replaced the sim all the above occoured. Reinstalling the apps didnt fix them and most apps FC.
Since then I have tried many roms and most seems to get this affect after some time. I was using some 2.3 roms and they were great but didnt have bln + very bad battery so they had to go. I'm currently on a romkitchen rom and it was fine for a while then after a restart it did the initial setup thing again and most things are broken again.
Anyone know anything about this?
Any suggestions on what I can try?
Thanks
Try killing the rom that caused the problems the usual supect once again .
Flash to stock Eclair via Odin with pit 512 and repartition checked .
If thats ok upgrade to Froyo .
jje
Ehh, that sounds a lot like the Internal SD issue. Try a stock 2.2.1 rom with a recent modem and see how that goes.
Can you suggest any roms/modems? I'm from UK if that makes a difference.
Btw the most recent rom was all the newest stuff from the rom kitchen. I feel like there is something that is not being wiped from my phone on a reflash even though I have installed different roms/modems/kernels. I have even deleted everything from my internal sd (the bit you can see when plugging phone into pc) The only thing I haven't wiped is my external sd, could something on that be the culprit?
Oh also as I installed this latest rom no gallery app was installed? I thought I might have just chosen the wrong option in the rom kitchen but does that mean anything?
EDIT - Could it be this RFS corruption issue?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848471
Should I follow these steps or is there a newer method?
Hello,
So far Holic's ROM seems to be the only one without in-call volume problems on my Vivid (Bell Canada) but there are two problems, one more annoying than the other
first, most annoying problem: after I install, the phone will upgrade to the latest apps like Hangouts. Everything works great, I can start hangouts and chat.
But after some time (5 to 10 minutes) of the phone just sitting there, or especially after a reboot, I will get the "google play services is not supported by your device" error. I have to remove update to google play store and resintall it, and then problem goes away temporarily and hangouts is usable again, and after the next reboot same problems reappear.
Does anyone have any fix for this?
second problem, less annoying:
On the phone dialer, there is a button at the bottom right which looks like a button for calling voicemail (has some funny symbols on it)
if I press this button I get error message "Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly". Does anyone else have this?
My phone is S-ON
I reinstalled the rom several times. I do the full system wipe before from recovery, flash the boot image, install rom with WCX recovery, re-flash the boot image from the SD card
same problem every time.

What Gapps are you installing? Have you tried different ones?
CM11 in call volume is pretty much gone since about the middle of January (if you read the thread, you'll see good feedback about it from about the 15th on). Only issue is sending/recieving MMS. Might want to give it another shot since this seem to be the only one getting worked on by the devs.

I'm not flashing any Gapps on this, the ROM already comes with them.
This is a ROM based on 4.0.3 ICS, not kitkat
I actually tried two versions of CM11, one was the latest unofficial nightly build from february 19, and the other was the albinoman release from january 15. both have the low volume problem.
I also tried the Borked ROM, based on 4.0.3, and it has the same low call volume problem, but no other issues like hangouts not working.
What GApps should I flash for a 4.0.3 based ROM?
You don't flash gapps on a stock based ROM ever

Hi all, love this forum but dont post often.
Heres the problem: My HTC One m7 (international version) is acting strange:
* Sometimes when I turn on the display I have to enter my sim pin, as if it had rebooted itself, only I know it hasnt. It also happens regurarly when Im using the phone *poff* all of a sudden "enter sim pin".
* When switching from wifi to 3g/LTE it lags for minutes. It drops all connections, including regular gsm, and I have to enter sim pin maybe half the time I swith from wifi. Switching from 3g/LTE to wifi doesnt present the same issues.
* Its extremely laggy when these things happen, otherwise it works fine.
What I have tried so far:
* Old backup of Liquidsmooth 4.4. Works fine for a few days then these same problems starts occuring.
* Uninstalling apps. Thought I was onto something when I uninstalled SwiftKey and it worked perfectly for about 3 days! But then the problems came back...
* Tried other roms but I usually end up with the "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" when the rom is up and fully booted. Its a loop that just continues (when pressing ok) so I cant do anything but reboot and try again. I tried probably 5 versions of Liquidsmooth but also Beanstalk and other aosp roms, even Lollipop versions (the liquidsmooth one worked but the same sim pin problems occurred). Havent tried any sense based roms. Also tried several versions of TWRP, official and unofficial. Still ends up with the com.android.systemui problem.
* Tried resetting permissions, wipe cache/dalvik and also wiped the entire sdcard. Used adb/flash to transfer new rom for installation.
So I'm basically out of ideas and pondering going back to stock and sending it in for repair, unless someone here has some tips since I'd rather try myself first.
Thanks for any help or input!

maybe your sim is faulty. try to get a new one from your provider. or it just has a bad contact in your phone.
about the lagging: did you try a clean flash? is your storage full? my phone gets pretty laggy when my storage is nearly full..
Hey thanks for your reply! However I dont think its the sim card, and as I mentioned I clean flashed several times with several twrp version and also twice with wiping all data on my sdcard...
Sorry if I can't offer a concrete solution, but I had similar issues (especially the first one, but also lag when switching networks) on my HOX+. Turns out it was the sim.
Try to test another sim before returning, and at least try a sense based rom. Since you say that it works without problem for a few days with Liquidsmooth 4.4, and then it starts breaking again, it may be rom (aosp?) related. But then again, it may be just random.
Hope you figure it out soon
Thanks akpe! I ordered a new sim card, if that doesnt help I suppose its something hardware related...
Well, the new sim card didnt help. My problem seem very similar to this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...rops-on-some-nexus-4-handsets-fixes-in-sight/
Basically my whole radio disconnects and restarts itself when turning off wifi. Reading that androidpolice thread leads me to thinking about flashing an earlier firmware, from 4.2.2. I have no idea which one, or if I can use the one in that thread or not.
Any suggestions? I'd appreciate it, googling for hours and reading catlogs for days isnt getting me anywhere..
HELP!
Hmm wasn't that a Google issue which got fixed by HTC in the latest OTA? Try a ROM which has the hotfix (like latest ViperOne, 7.0.2) and see if you still get this

Hi akpe! I took your advice and am now running ViperOne 7.0.2 and so far it WORKS! So it seems it was indeed that google bug. HUGE THANKS!
Is it possible to have the aosp lockscreen when at the same time using a pin? I can't seem to figure that out.
Thanks again!
Glad it worked
As for the lockscreen, no idea mate, I'm using the stock one :/ Ask around in the ViperOne thread, maybe someone there knows
Ok, thanks again!
Another thing I cant find is profiles? Need it to make whatsapp notification sound silent when listening to music..
