As long as you haven't installed a custom recovery to root your ROM, you should be able to install the OTA. If you have installed ClockworkMod or EXT4 recovery then do not attempt to install the OTA.

ARHD for Sense 3.0
Viruous Affinity for Sense 3.5
I've experienced no forced close or bugs in either ROMS.
I stuck with Viruous Affinity for the Sense 3.5 experience. I think Sense 3.5 is superior to Sense 3.0. Also the fonts in Sense 3.5 are smaller and better scaled, in Sense 3.0 everything look blown up.
In Viruous Affinity you also have a "ultrasmooth rosie" option which does stuff like disable the 3D effect in the HTC widgets but keeps 3D rotation. That option boost the fps in transistions A LOT.

The security warning usually means that the main_version value was incorrect for the OTA you are trying to run. Since the RUU for the OTA is out now, there isn't any reason you need to mess with the OTA any more. You can just go ahead and flash the 3.08.405.3 RUU.

I've helped my friend to flash his Incredible S and i've experienced problems in the process. He Has a HBOOT version of 1.16.0000 and has a radio version of 3805.09.03.27_M. I've attempted to unlock the bootloader using the htcdev website's method. All the steps went well but after all the procedures, the phone still appears as S-ON. I've managed to flash the recovery into the phone and used it to flash a custom rom (Android Revolution) and rebooted the phone after the flashing is complete. The phone just gets stuck at the HTC logo with white background. I've then decided to revert everything back to normal by flashing back to stock with the official RUU but i had error 150 while flashing. I've also tried renaming the rom.zip into PG32IMG.zip to flash it through HBOOT but nothing happens. I'm really lost now, can someone give me a solution to it?

s-on will be there...u will just be able to use custom recovery. try flashing a custom rom different from Android Revolution . by the way ..in android revolution you can also try to flash the "revert to stock 1.0 Ghz" patch because sometimes it causes that problem due to OC settings not suiting a phone.
want s-off too? See this

One other tip since you are dealing with an unlocked HBOOT version. When you flash a custom ROM in recovery mode you must then manually flash the boot.img file from the zip file in Fastboot mode using the command:
Fastboot flash boot [path to boot.img]

ok so my HTC Vivid is unlocked and rooted.
i have s-on
HBOOT - 1.85.0024
microp - 0360
and i have the ics recovery which is the wcxrecovery.
now i want to get ICS. how do i do that? i tried using the RUU but that keeps saying error
and i dont thnk there is an actual ICS rom out there.
you can download the stock ics ruu from htc to use it you have to relock your bootloader
im on a stock vivid rom i dont have any custom roms on my phone
like if i relock it, i dont think itl matter cuz ill still be able to use the stock rom
are you on gb wanting to go to ics if so stock or custom if you want custom go to wildchilds site if stock relock bootloaders hook your phone up to your computer in fastboot mode and run the ruu
http://www.wcxxperia-nce.com/index.php
you need to register to see vivid roms
http://www.htc.com/us/support/vivid-att/downloads/
no i am on a stock vivid rom that i used from an update of an ruu. i dont have any of those like reumraider holikaked, none of those.
so you want stock ics or custom ics
can you provide me a link with both? i would really appreciate it thank you very much!
for now i will do the update that is on my phone apperently there is an update on it. ill see what happens with that and if you can still put the stock and custom ics links please
4th post down and you might want to check but i think the bootloader has to be locked to do the ota update. wildchild has a video in the op in his vivid section ics rom that walks you through all the steps to install his rom
---------- Post added at 02:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:06 PM ----------
also the ruu will wipe your phone and make it like out of box

Hey everybody; searched for this topic but couldn't find anything so I'm hoping someone can help.
Bell released the OTA update for the Raider today - I downloaded it and went to update - the device powered off as expected, when it restarted and tried to begin the update, it just freezes at a screen that shows an exclamation point (!) in a circle and a little green android.
I'm running the stock rom, but rooted with unlocked bootloader. Does anybody have the same issue and if so, any solutions?
Thanks very much in advance,
-GB
Before you OTA update you need to unroot it and re-lock the bootloader, can you boot into H-Boot?
how do you unroot it? I've been stuck on that step. Re-locking the bootloader was the easy part
I can get into H-boot - no clue how to re-lock the bootloader and unroot the device.
Any chances you can pull the update.zip from your sdcard?
To re-lock the bootloader you should try this tool kit
HTC Vivid All-In-One Toolkit V2.1
To un-root it right after you re-lock your boot loader you should
(And this is straight from the super guide)
- Put the PH39IMG.zip file on a microSD card
- Power down the phone, insert microSD and boot back into bootloader (power button + vol down)
- It should automatically find the zip file and flash the stock image (this includes recovery, system, everything stock.)
And can we use that ph39img.zip on canadian devices too?

Do you need the stock rom?
I'm in the same situation. I rooted and un-locked my phone but am running the stock rom.
I'll try to back everything up before I update it. Woohoo... ICS.

There is a Rogers one as well and it seems that is the one for Canadian devices. The link seems to be down so I will upload my copy.

So you should defiantly revert your Raider back to stock before you do the OTA ICS update to avoid any complications. You should back everything up, however when you restore some of your files from a GB back-up to ICS you might get some errors because some files might not be compatible on ICS.
Here is the link for the Rogers PH39IMG.zip
http://www.filefactory.com/file/zqampvpiw5r/n/PH39IMG_zip
I'm on Bell. Where can I find the stock file?
sounds like he is saying the rogers one should work for us. Hopefully that is the case. although I would think the stock roms would be different due to bloatware
I relocked the bootloader. Do I have to flash the stock Rogers rom first and then OTA to ICS?
I don't get why you'd have to reflash the ROM again if it's stock.
---------- Post added at 11:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:54 PM ----------
Hmm... ok. Ran into a snag. I tried the OTA update, it downloaded and starts the update. It shuts down and reboots into the bootloader and shows
*** security warning *** under the *** RELOCKED ***
Are Bell and Rogers updates the same?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338919 to get the stock ROM, it's the one labelled BM.
I had also been getting the ***security warning*** when trying to upgrade, without having made a backup of all the bloatware the only thing I could think of was to reflash the stock ROM, and the OTA update worked.

No, just unlocked bootloader and rooted. Although in the last week, I think I lost root because superuser and titanium backup won't work because it says it doesn't have root.
I downloaded the Bell RUU ROM and will flash back to factory and re-run the OTA update.
Will update this thread when I'm done.
thanks for confirming the BM meant Bell Mobility, thought it did but didn't see any hard evidence. i've downloaded the file and will flash and update tonight.
Well, after flashing the Bell RUU, the OTA update ran smoothly and all is updated.
The Sense ROM is still quite the same as the GB sense. Have to clean up all the bloatware and junk that's on the phone now.
Thanks for the replies, everyone. So is there anything special we need to do before we try running the RUU? Again, I'm running stock GB with root and unlocked bootloader, that's about all I've done to the phone so far. Also, will we still have root afterwards?
Hi there,
I had and O2 UK HTC One.
I unlocked my HTC One and rooted it to use TWRP.
Lately I was propmted to Update through an OTA to get KitKat but I couldn't automatically update due to TWRP.
I flashed my mobile using a stock ROM and now am running;
Android 4.4
HTC Sense 5.5
Software number 4.06.1540.2
As soon as I flashed this rom I checked for updates and I was prompted to update to the below version,
Software number 4.06.1540.3
Where can I find this OTA to flash it on my HTC?
Is there an easier way to keep up to date with these OTA through TWRP?
Thank you
Mark

You must use stock recovery to flash ota, not twrp. When you are prompted for an ota update, just flash your stock recovery over twrp, go back in your phone, download and apply the ota. Then flash twrp after the update and re-root.

Btw you only had to flash your stock o2 recovery to install the ota, flashing another stock rom wasn't necessary. At least you made a good choice going dev edition.

Thank for the reply... I did not have a stock o2 recovery.
I found one over the internet (...htconeroot.com/htc-one-stock-roms/android-4-4-kitkat-sense-5-5-stock-rom-for-htc-one/)
I currently have this flashed on my mobile but when prompted with an OTA and try to install TWRP comes up. How can I fix that?

If you can, s off first while you are on a lower hboot/firmware and then install your custom roms. It's so much easier to return to stock if you are s off for warranty purposes
Its already s-off, hboot 1.57,and unlocked with another pc im going to install revolution hd thanks for your help
