IP help - Motorola Droid Bionic

Where do I find my bionic's IP address?
Sent from my DROIDX using xda premium

Search the market for "ip address" and choose an app. There are a few widgets out there that will display your IP.

If you have terminal installed you can run ifconfig in terminal. It's the linux version of the windows ipconfig command.

I have not ever had any trouble with it working, its just always worked for me. I'm currently running cog 2.2b6.
When you go in into mobile ap and select the check box to turn it on does it even act like it is working? Can you change the id and toggle on wpa encryption?

Does your computer see the wireless signal? Do you get the notification that it is active on your phone? The blue wireless icon?

For me, mine takes forever to obtain an IP address. Do ipconfig from dos and verify if your adapter is being assigned a DHCP address. For me, it can take up to 2 minutes. It is not my laptop either, this happens with any device I try to attach and my laptop works fine with any other AP.

Has anyone tried this app?

It allows you to view/interact with people's Facebook/youtube/etc. when they access it from a pc using the same WiFi network. I seem like a creeper, but its hilarious when my brother comes over and I wait for him to hop on fbook so I can change his status. http://faceniff.ponury.net/

Settings, change device profile (generic ics/jb (wlan0), enable mms clamping and routing fix.

It would be helpful to mention these directions are for the root wifi tether app and not for anything built into the phone. There is no working solution without root as of now if that's what you're looking for.
