What size/speed of SD card is included with the HTC Vivid?
AT&T Branded Vivid - No MSD is included.
Cheers

Sweet deal then. I already have a 16G class10.
There are only 10 kinds of people. Those who understand binary math, and those who don't.
The Rogers HTC Raider also doesn't have any MicroSD included, since the phone already has built-in memory.
I'm still rocking that old 16 GB that was included in my old Xperia X10a !

So my question is whats the swap for? And can I choose a higher allocation when partitioning my sd card? will i get speed improvement? in terms of phone usage?
Currently Running:

Superfly TCBY FroYo v1.1 for D/S, Release v1.1
DANGER SPL

8GB PNY Mini SD Card
I suggest to not use swap. In most cases it will slow down your phone. If you need a bit more memory, using compcache could be a way to go.

thanks for the advice but my questions are not answered =[ but can you ellaborate on compache though?

Swap and compcache are virtual memory, i.e. memory that is used like ram, but really it's on disk. The kernel is 'swapping' in and out parts of the memory to disk and back to memory. The same is for compcache, but here a compressed ram-disk is used., so you will gain a bit of memory, but always related with slowing down your phone.

Hi, quick question.
I have a modified ROM (still 2.1.1) Running on my XT701, and the biggest favor I could get from u guys is a pointer in the direction of how I can accomplish to have
APP2SD work on it.
I have already partitioned my class 10 16GB card with ext3 (and swap) but I think my ROM does not support it.
my ROM is "black sea droidx" and u can find it on modmymoto...
Thank you so much!
Hi
I want to buy a refurbished Nexus One to install Android 4.0 or 4.1 on it. and this will be my first android phone
But I'm worried about it's little ROM !just 512MB
How much memory will be available after installing 4.0 for apps ?
Can I install apps on SD memory card completely or they will use some of ROM memory too ?
Does installing 4.0 courses my apps and games run slower than before ?
Thsnks a lot
if u need to run anything beyond 2.3 then u need to install BLACKROSE (a custom bootloader) and change the hboot partitions.
and yes u need to partition ur sd card and apps should be placed in sd ext, which might be lil slower

If I use SD Memory ,internal ROM will not be used for apps at all? You mean the partition on SD memory will be used instead ?
Can I use SD mem on 2.3 version too ?
Can I use a high speed SD to speed up running apps ?
Can I do All this thing with HTC Desire too ? these two phones are so similar !
Thanks

yes you can. you need to create ext partition first. provided your rom/kernel supports it(which every rom/kernel does)
yes you can do this wid gb roms too.
u need a fast sd (class 6 or above) for apps n games to load faster

Although the N1 has only 512MB, don't underestimate its ability to take on ICS and JB ROMs The latest JB 4.2 ROM can be flashed on N1!!!
I read this article about increasing the RAM on Android phones, basically it included partitioning your SD card and installing some software. And I was wondering if any of you have tried it or think it works with Desire C using CM10? Here's the link if you want to look for yourself: http://www.technodify.com/how-to-increase-internal-memory-and-ram/

Having more ram doesn't make your phone faster. Partitioning your SD card means sacrificing storage for stuff that most of the times don't work that well. My personal opinion is to not go there.
Hello devs,
Our htc one is the greatest and powerful smartphone in the market. but still it have many drawbacks. The biggest is that it does not support ext sd card. And in 32 gb model there is only 25.49 gb available to the users.
I know this left out space is for OS and rom types memories and some tools...But 6.5 gb is very huge space..
So can we increase this internal storage to more like in many low end devices like explorer, wildfire, wildfire s, desire, etc..
Plz devss make a fix for it as i know you guyz can only make this..
You guyz are great.. thanxx
Best of luck devs

Not that huge imo. A stock ruu.zip is about 1.1gb compressed and some space required for cache, app data and user data.

you can't... it's just space that isn't there for you. there are several other partitions that use the memory... so you won't get these gigs.. and you also have to calculate these 32 Gigs like this:
32 Gigabytes for intelligent people: 2^30*32 bytes! -> 34'359'738'368
32 Gigabytes for vendors: 10^9*32 bytes! -> 32'000'000'000
And there you see... then just calculate this way and you get what the android system shows you:
(32*10^9)/(2^30) = 29.9 Gigabytes...
What you see now: You lose(at cause of other partitions) about 4.3 Gigybytes... so that's what you actually can get... but remember, the system and all the other partitions are very important too, and stealing their space could cause insability!
