i don't know but don't think because TW5 is heavy .

According to Samsung, no Because it would be too laggy. But of course developers will publish some works.

According to Samsung it also won't bei possible to release ICS for the SGS with touchwiz but it's working for me (used fr4gg0rs Touchwiz 4)

Lol? TW4 launcher is completely different than TW4. I used the sgs2 port and it was reylly unstable and slow (even tough it was an amazing piece of work from developers).

I think TW5 will be a lot more lightweight then TW4, because samsung won't bloat too much now when we have ics. Of course they will continue to bloat SGS2, but in the SGS3 i think Touchwiz will not be too visible (Mostly functional changes, nót UI changes), just like Galaxy Tab 10.1

Dunno mate. Maybe we should ask Samsung John.
It would need to be amazing for TW 4 to even be an issue/concern i.e. other launchers are faster and customizable (although Samsung are improving)
If it isn't included, I'm sure a ROM developer will port it over soon enough

[Q] TouchWiz 3.0 VS 4.0?

Hi , i'd like to know, what are the huge advantages of having 4.0 instead of 3.0? are there many huge differences? tbh, i kind of like the look of 3. (like the black background on launcher etc)
but i see everyone going to 4.0..
what are the huge advantages?
is it slower than 3.0? does it require more RAM to run? can you have both?
It looks MUCH better. Just search for 'Touchwiz 4.5' here on XDA. It's a heavy modified version of the original TW4.

TW 4 is better than 3. Try TW 4.5, it´s great.

Cheers for that, but is 4,5 the official version, or is it the xda version
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
4.5 is the modded XDA-version. Samsung didn't officially release TW4 for our SGS (only for SGS2).

Some one could just answer the guy, isit(T4) faster and what are the benefits over Tw3, he,s just being told "touch 4.5" is great. Probably is but we arn't getting to the root. Can't you just see the guy sitting there, to embarrassed to ask 1 more time, lol,.....any one know , he he?
Well, he should just try TW4, there are some ROMs with it too. It looks better (in my opinion). I would not say that it's faster.
And he doesn't have to be ashamed, XDA is a big forum and forums are here that people can ask questions.
Yeh haha xD
thanks for the replies guys!
When i get my sgs as a backup i will be looking to install touchwoz 4.0 then, cheeers

touchwiz 4/4.5 has loads of FC and its not stable for some users including me... even though its fast and smooth i still prefer launcher pro
definitelly TW4 is much better than TW3
- TW3 does not have the 5 icon dock (only modded versions do)
- TW4 has better environment for placing shortcuts, widgets, wallpapers
- TW4 has better options to organize apps in app drawer (folders)
- TW4 is easier to scroll to any desktop within a second
- TW4 needs more resourses, but e.g. on JUWE 5.1 and Talon kernel it is smooth
I have never tried the TW4.5

thanks! So touchwiz 4 requires more ram?
It flies on the sgs2, but wondering how it would cope on the sgs1.
But thanks for the info!

wonder no more: touchwiz 4.5 (you should probably get this one as opposed to touchwiz 4, but i can't since i haven't tried it) flies on sgsl as well; faster, in fact, than TW 3 (using xxkph, by the way; it's important because gingerbread adds 10 mb more to the ram)
it looks better, particularly 4.5 since i guess all those snazzy transition animations are xda's work (i've had hands-on time with the sgs 2 and those animations aren't there). and once you slap a theme over all of it...lets just say you're going to make your friends jealous
again, while i can't vouch for 4, 4.5 has one bug and it's that the stock samsung widgets won't work on it. it comes with a manager that lets you download fixed versions of those widgets AND sgs 2 widgets (all of them, except for calendar in my case, work)
trust me, take the jump to 4.5, you won't regret it (at least, i hope not )

[Q] Gataxy Note: What's the most clean and unmodified ICS ROM? Any Nexus ported one?

Guys, sorry if this is a dumb question. And sorry about my English.
Well, I need to say that I'm really jealous about Galaxy Nexus users and their original Android, with those main buttons on the screen, etc.
So, could you please say what's the most original Android ROM for Galaxy Note? The most similar possible to the original Galaxy Nexys ROM. Including those screen buttons!
Thanks so much!
If you want a pure vanilla AOSP galaxy Nexus like.. There's several options... Personally I'm a big fan of cm9.. That's what I run on my gnex my gnote and my gtab 10.1

Thanks! But what about Android Open Kang Project? It's not a more original Ice Cream Sandwich than CM9?
What I mean is, with less "human interference" in it's "natural state"?

AOKG roms have more modifications than CM9. CM9 is more like AOSP that can run on any device. AOKP is like AOSP with highly customizable user experience, lots of new features to do with the launcher, system etc.

Ok, got it! After watching YouTube reviews about AOKP I saw that I can even change/add those softwares buttons in the botton of the screen. Pretty nice!
In terms of stability/bugs, at this time, CM9 is better than AOKP, right? Or they are the same?
My personal experience was that AOKP had a very slight performance edge but it suffered from SOD issues. CM9 has been stable and I am very happy with it.

Keep in mind that you will loose advanced S-Pen functionalities (kind of essential for our phones, I think!) if you go somewhere besides TW stock ROMS

Yeah, you are right, but this may not be a serious problem for me as I never use S-Pen. And this is so true that I have Galaxy Note since march and the only time I used S-Pen for real was playing with a friend that game that we use "#" and put "x" and "o" in the spaces. (I don't know the name in English... hahaha)

After reading a lot, this is what I think also. Same stuff of CM9 + lots of customization. What I'm afraid is that I'm reading more bug/reboots/problems reports on AOKP.
And don't you prefer the original ICS visual? Don't know why, but I didn't like this Galaxy S 3 design, both in phisical and software terms!

Well to be honest I haven't noticed any bug or random reboots yet...to make it more clear..I am using it as my daily driver....so if I had any issues...I would have switched to any other Rom....and as far as looks goes....that's the beauty of the cm9 based roms...there are a lot of themes out there...including tw lookalike and even sense 4 lookalike...so for me aokp is the best out there....

Thanks again! I'll give a try to AOKP and wait for Jelly Bean on CM10.
And I need to say that even now, using the official Samsung LPT 4.0 ROM, I have sometimes some problems, even random reboots! So these kind of problems really can happen everywhere, with everyone, anytime.
But one thing is for sure. My goodbye to Samsung ROMs! (At least I don't use S-Pen!)
The pen works fine on CM9. You just can't use any of the button functions, but that's not a huge deal to me. Palm rejection was finally added, which is what I was waiting for the most.

Honeycomb rom for n7000???

Today i got a chance to see old galaxy tab 10.1 the first honeycomb tablet and i liked its UI. So i am curious to know if there is any HC based roms available for note???

That's only for tabs.. And why would you want an old OS when you have every kind of JB available for note?
UI from HC its exactly the same as ICS with lot less features.. Get another launcher or look for mods.. There's plenty

And I just checked the Mini Android Development. They don't have a Joyos ROM.

Yeah, even though I don't own this device anymore, Espier Launcher was just laggy and TERRIBLE overall. I tried iLauncher with a locker, apps to replace ios apps. Worked awesome. Then my galaxy got bricked by flashing the bootloader. So I got a new phone, the galaxy fame. Works perfect with my own rom. Thanks for all the suggestions though.
