Hi,
Anyone else had this problem? I plug my phone in and am not presented with any form of USB options.
Thanks,
Jim
Anyone?
EDIT: When I plug the phone into the PC, it charges and the "USB debugging connected" notification appears, but I cannot transfer files or enable HTC Sync.

tried already. not working
If u can use adb still with ur USB u can boot the phone into fastboot and enter this command (fastboot enableqxdm 0 fastboot reboot) that might help but I can't use adb with this prob since it requires a working USB connection. There is also some good help if u search for how to fix USB and SD card not reading. If ur rooted u can force a file to ur sdcard with some root explorers like root manager sufb and file expert by manually mounting it as read/write.
try uninstalling and reinstalling htc sync
the only times i have had issues with sd card mounting is when trying to root before unlocking the bootloader. need to unlock bootloader prior to rooting. if bootloader isn't unlocked then root is temp but sdcard mount is lost and may effect usb being recognised. am i right in assuming that you tried the rooting method prior to attempting unlocking of your bootloader? if so you should turned device off and on and sdcard would have appeared again and available when plugged in. id suggest turning device on and off and test. if these problems persist you may need to revert to stock rom using ruu file and start over

Going back to stock will lose root and if u hhave a USB and/SD card issue fixing that can become difficult without root. I have HTC Incredible and went back to stock using the PB31IMG.zip method from Hboot and it didn't help anything and gaining root again seems to be next to impossible without USB/SD card working properly so think things through before going back to stock.

Spot on. My only problem is that I'm having this problem with the stock ROM.

Well if u can use ur sdcard in recovery there's a method that's supposed to work to fix the USB u will need to find out if u have a bad block, mine is in ./dev/block/mmcblk0p1 if I could reflash that block it should fix the USB. You need 2 files flash_image and mtd-eng to reflash I will post a link to my dropbox with the necessary files when I get home. But do this at ur own risk I'm not responsible if u brick ur phone. Sorry I dobt havr links right this second, but theirs a thread somewhere that has em too if u wanna search for it.

You née to run ADB from a stock rom it will give u temp root and fix ur USB so u can gain permanent root. First launch ADB then boot your phone into fastboot befor you plug it in your computer if you have the proper Hboot driver installed it will say fastbootusb. Next start the ADB server it should be a cmd that looks like this from cmd prompt C:\androidsdk\tools\adb.exe fastboot oem enableqxdm 0 fastboot reboot if done correctly it will say success but u may need to try more than once. From their you can run this C:\androidsdk\tools\adb.exe remount that will remount ADB as rw or you cam run C:\androidsdk\tools\adb.exe root for temp root access how you root your phone is up to you. Let me know if you need any help I was able to solve it fairly easy once I paid attention.

Hello, I've unlocked my Velocity (Telstra) ICS, thru HTC Dev, and am about to use the Vivid all in one tool to root my phone.
I know it's probably a silly question, but after watching the video, do I run the tool in Hboot mode on the phone ?
I am very new at this, any help would be very appreciated !
Easy, really.

After some googling, I figured that you boot into Hboot, select fastboot, then plug the phone via usb to the computer.
The phone menu will say Fastboot USB, in red letters.
I then ran the Vivid all in one tool, and had no problem installing CWM recovery. But the tool wouldn't work for "root",
giving a "device not recognized" error. The command prompt window also said that Superuser zip couldn't be found on sd card.
So I booted up the phone, used MyphoneExplorer (brilliant app) to access my sd card, and copied " Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip " to the card.
Then I used recovery to flash the zip, and that was that. The phone is now permanently rooted.
I've installed busybox, and also Root Checker ( app by Darken ), and it's all good !!
Glad you figured it out, but for the future you don't have to put your phone in fastboot/hboot before using the tool.
Just go under settings then develop option then enable USB debugging
Once USB debugging (aka adb) is enabled plug phone into USB run the tool kit, choose an option. It will open a command window which will reboot the phone to fastboot for you, apply the option you selected then turn the phone back on.

When I plug my phone into my pc via usb on the pc it comes up as unknown device and I can't access the storage it just charges. This worked before just one day it stopped working. So I tried to do the fix by using flashboot but that doesn't work either as it doesn't go into the flashboot usb, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but still no luck. I can't access the sd card through a file manager either it just says it's not mounted or it's plugged into the pc. I've tried to mount it in recovery and it still doesn't work. Any advice would be appreciated I'm desperate at this stage I've tried all the fixes I could find but I can't get any of the zips onto my sd because I can't access it.
PS. I'm pretty lost I've just tried another pc but I still get the same error about it being and unknown device, also when I go into dropbox or anything like that it says that the sd card isnt mounted and I have formatted the sd card from recovery and still no luck should I try it again? or format the whole phone? any help would be amazing thank you in advance!
After trying over and over to see if fastboot would work I restarted my phone like 10times and it worked for a bit I installed twrp and tried to mount but it wouldn't let me again and the fastboot is gone back to not working. I have tried to toggle usb debugging on and off and it hasn't changed it.

idk if it will work but i am releasing a tool tonight with an sdcard fix by anders3408: you could try that when i release or you can flash it in cmd by execting 'fastboot flash zip (filename).zip'
by the way the reason your phone is an unknown device it probly because you have windows 8 or an error on a previous windows, you can fix this by going into device manager and updating the unknown device to 'android'

Windows 8 need a specific way to have adb working. There are plenty of them if you use search or Google.

Any fixes for windows 7 I've tried it on three pcs and it won't detect the device as a phone it just comes up as unknown on all of them and I can't mount in recovery I've tried twrp and fastboot and it just won't mount at all.. would that mean it's bricked? should I wipe the whole phone? I can backup and restore and download apps but I just can't access the sd using anything else.
Anyone have any advice? Is it soft bricked? would it be worth going back to the store even though there is a custom rom on it?
Is there anyway I can reset the sd like I tried in storage settings but it just bugs out and I've wiped it in recovery and still the same. I'm desperate.

Im having this same issue, after trying to flash android revolution on my unlocked/rooted rogers One, it froze on the successfully installed part and I had to wait for it to die to try to restart it.
I cannot boot into recovery or connect it to my computer in any way, ./adb reboot bootloader doesnt work it says cannot find device.
When I vol down + power the bottom lights just blink and the phone does nothing.
Any idea on how I can reflash the phone?

I have this same problem as well. I also believe I have bricked my HTC One (ATT) and I tried to flash the stock boot.img but when connected to my computer, the phone is completely empty with no download folder, apps folder or anything like it was on stock. I'm on TWRP Recovery but how to I reinstall the boot.img and fix the phone and put it back into factory settings?
ok, so my phone is screwed.
Been trying touse this thread to recover it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2325853
I have no SD Card, I can not mount SD Card in Recovery.
I have from what I can tell installed the Android SDK and when doing 'adb devices' I get 'error device not found'.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled HTC drivers and sync, does not recognise my phone. Device manager shows my One but can not find any drivers for it.
I have tried the All In One Tool to sideload, does not work, does not reboot to bootloader etc due to drivers not working.
Basically my phone is dead as, what can I do? Take it to HTC, how much would it cost to fix?
Cheers
EDIT: If i reboot system from Recovery it tells me it does not have root, do i want to root it? I say yes and it reboots to splash screen, nothing else
What operating system are you running?
If you're using Windows 8 search for the thread with the windows 8 drivers.
I accidently formatted my SD card while I had no rom installed. It took a while but eventually ADB picked it up and I was able to push the rom to my device using ADB push (I was also getting the "No devices found" message). This was before I found the windows 8 driver thread, it just randomly started working after many resets of both my phone and computer.
What recovery are you using? Do you happen to have a flash drive and a usb otg cable? This is an other option.

that is easy dont panic
1- if the drivers is not installed properly you cant do anything from PC and send it to the device
if you are using Windows 8.1 there is NO drivers for it,
if its Windows 8 there is NO official driver yet but you can install Windows 7 drivers
if its Windows 7 or earlier make sure its installed correctly if you dont know reply to my comment i will tell you anything you want
2- it happned to me too No Root and NO Rom installed, i simply copied the ROM to a USB Stick and using a USB OTG cable ($1) i plugged the cable to the phone and mounted the cable and then installing it from there,
tell me more about what you have and i will help you
Spent a few hours last night working on this with the help of Matt from here
I have CWM Touch (latest) and he was able to fix the driver issue, and we got sideloading working.
Will push the rom to phone, install, start roms splash screen but go no further. Still no SD Card or missing the mount points to show SD Card.
Attempted to S-Off, failed, unsure if CID 11111111 was successful. (Not CID11111111, was HTC_039 now VODAP21 or similar)
I has told/read an article that if you flash a differnt base (eg ICS to JB) that it will replace a script that handles/writes the mount points..
That worth a try but I believe all roms are JB. Any idea of any ICS roms for the One??
I can not find a RUU for 1.29.980.2 to try, only Nandroid Backups that I can not use as no SD..
EDIT: what does a flashing red led mean too? Cheers
I am currently getting error: device not found
i am on a windows 7 64bit pc that has been formatted since the last time i installed a new rom
i am also using a usb-otg cable with a 7gb FAT32 thumb drive
after a complete wipe in recovery I cannot get my phone to recognize my usb-otg and after trying to do an adb sideload adb will not recognize the phone.
I need to either get usb-otg to work or adb to recognize my phone. I think my problem with ADB is a driver issue on the pc, I have tried various driver instillations from http://adbdriver.com/ , http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/ , and the driver download link in hasoon2000's AIO kit, as well as the xda guide at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232799 .
however i am always left with M7wls under other devices in the device manager
I have also tried restarting the adb server and checking adb devices, but the phone never shows up
update: I was able to install cwm in fastboot usb hoping i would get the usb otg to work, but usb otg still will not mount
2nd update: the phone is now recognized as My HTC in fastboot and seems to work fine with fastboot commands and is now recognized as One in CWM still unable to sideload
I suspect my problem might be that i never had my phone connected while it had a rom installed so it never discovered it properly, instead it is trying to discover it as whatever the recovery says it is?
I am also still unable to get my usb otg to work CWM says "error mounting /external_sd!" if the usb otg would work my problems would be solved, can someone tell me how to prepare a thumb drive to work with usb otg in twrp or cwm

that did change the phone name in the device manager about a minute long enough to sideload once, but when trying to sideload again the cmd said the server was out of date and closed, and looking at the device manager the name reverted back to M7WLS
do you have the sdk tools up to date on your pc?

what root folder are you placing the zip file to sideload?
I believe it will not sideload because your rom zip isn't in the correct folder on your computer. With the sdk installed it would have to be in the platform-tools folder with hasoons toolkit I don't know.

How did you fix the recovery? I'm having the same issue you had but I'm using PhilZ Touch 5 recovery. This is why I hate HTC for not adding a SD card slot in this phone and its the last phone I will ever get that doesn't come with that option. If this were my EVO LTE I'd be up and running in minutes. Its been two days now and this damn iphone wannabe crap is making me sick. I regret this phone so much but you live and you learn. Anyway can you please help me figure this out for PhilZ Touch 5. I don't see how it wouldn't work any different than TWRP.
I use this video to help me but when I get to adb devices my phone isn't found.
