[Q] ROM Manager usage - Huawei Ideos X6

Hi,
I came across ROM manager which can be used to perform CWM functions via a GUI. I chose the 'Download ROM' option and a prompt came up which said that CWM must be installed first and to 'Install the recovery through ROM Manager first.' When I chose the Install options, it shows me the following list to choose the appropriate Phone Model - Commtiva Z71, Dell Streak, Geeksphone ONE, Huwaei Ascend, Huawei Ascend 2, Huawei Pulse, Huawei Pulse Mini, Huawei U8220 / U8230, Micromax A70, Spice MI700.
Now I know that technically our phone is similar to Huawei Ascend. My question is:
1. Should I choose Huawei Ascend from the list and the ROM Manager would reinstall the latest CWM applicable?
2. Why is the ROM manager unable to detect the latest version of CWM available for our phone (5.0.2.7)?
Rgds
Sandy

AFAIK there is no ROM manager support to our phone.

Rom Manager 4 and CWM 5 Question

My phone is rooted and has CWM 5.0.2.7 installed. I just installed Rom Manager 4.8.0.7 from the Market but it does not seem to be compatible with CWM5.
If I try to do anything from within Rom Manager it tells me that I must have CWM installed. If I click "Install" it asks me to Confirm Phone Model but the Galaxy Note is not listed in the options. Help!!
You have already CWM installed - there is no need for Rom Manager which essentially is quite similar. Anyway Rom Manager is not compatible for the Note

[Q] Installing CWM through Rom Manager

I have successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note, but it still doesn't have CWM installed. So I downloaded Rom Manager from the market, and tried to flash CWM from there. However the "Confirm Phone Model" dialog does not list the Galaxy Note I attached a screenshot of the choices.
Which do I pick? Or should I install CWM the long way?
Saw this thread, proceeding to this thread. Long method it is~
^^
Yes U R on right track
I have the same problem, I was able to ROOT and install CWM (I have version 5.0.2.7) using the instructions in this post. But I cannot do a ROM Backup with ROM Manager because it does not recognize the Recovery as valid one, I can boot into recovery from ROM Manager but I cannot do a Backup, I tried with the Manual Flash Overdrive option in ROM Manager and did not work, please any suggestion how to make ROM Manager recognize CMW that was manually installed ?, thanks
i have the same issue with my Neo V. i installed CMW manually and wanted to do rom backups so that i can flash a new rom. unfortunately the rom manager im using wont allow me to backup telling me to install CMW which is redundant cause i already have CMW installed. and worse is its asking me to chose phone models where my phone models is not even supported. how do i get over these??? arent there any rom manager updates?
ROM manager is not supported to Note
Just open CWM applicayion, you will find backup option there only.

Latest Recovery?

I'm about to update my wife's i9000, but I wanted to make sure it had the latest available recovery on it. I did a search over at TWRP, but it doesn't look like they have a recovery for the i9000. I checked out the CWM website, and they're showing 2.5.1.2 as their latest offering.
I searched through the development forum for "TWRP", "CWM" and "Recovery"...and I didn't (easily) find what I was looking for.
I checked the recovery currently installed on the phone, and it's showing CWMP Touch 5.5.0.4. Is this the latest available for this phone?
I must not be on the latest...I just got a Status 7 error.

Why cant i Flash my rooted SGH-t599N...HELP!!

OK so... (and TO EVERYONE SORRY FOR THIS NOVEL, I JUST NEED HELP REALLY BAD)
First off i own two droid products
- Motorola Droid X2 (Rooted - Flashed with Eclipse Custom ROM)
- Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G (MetroPCS version SGH-t599N) (Just recently rooted today by way of Cydnia Impactor, SU access ready)
Now from page 1, seeing this thread is directly related to the SGH-t599N model, I have been sitting here for 5 hrs trying to flash the CM10.1 and gAPPs to my Exhibit with no avail... I've had slight problems rooting the X2 so trial and error is expected but this is taking to long and the install instructions on page 1 lack clarity...
I tryed with both Goo Manager and Rom Manager to flash the ROM in and get hits with these problems:
Goo.im(Manager app): Tap app<grants SU promissions< tap menu< tap Install OpenRecovery...<are you sure confirmation screen: YES< looking for recovery< No recoveries were found on your device (even tho i have both TWRP and CWM ready)...then i tap Flash ROMs<important message screen pops (you must have openrecoveryscript with two options
-a.)try to find one for me ((tapping leads to "No recoveries were found on your device"))
-b.) I already have one installed ((Tapping leads to No GooManager Folder...add and order button are there but clicking/tapping gives me the same "No GooManager Folder" response...Dead end.
Rom Manager(Manager app):Tap app<grants SU promissions<tap Recovery Setup< its ask to set up recovery by installing or update CMW recovery or option 2, Recovery already installed with listed options CMW and TWRP...clicking on either CMW from option 1 or 2 both lead to select model ((Samsung GS i9000, Epic4G, S3 MetroPCS, or Prevail 2 Boost Mobile which none are my SGH-t599N leaving me with the last option, "Device not listed above"< Tap "Device not listed above"< Message: SGH-T599N does not have an official supported CMW recovery yet, Have you installed a CMW based recovery manually...(asumming the CMW apk ive Downloaded i hit YES< ask for type CMW2.x or CMW 3.x+< ROM manager has been set to the existing Recovery< returns me to menu screen again with listed recovery as ((CURRENT RECOVERY: CMW 5.X.X.X Lastest Recovery 6.0.4.5 CMW Touch is available!...whatever that means...
then i click ROM manageement option: Install ROM< I select cm-10.1-20130922-Unofficial-codinamtr.zip and since using the basic version i can only do one zip at a time, its not loaded in the ROM addons section....heres were it gets weird....
I tap Install option: Reboot and Install< ask if i want to install in CMW< i confirm and it reboot to what looks to be some type of recovery screen, which ive seen before when rooting my DX2...but this time its missing the option to install Update.zip which was the option i chose to install my Eclipse Firmware on the DX2.. the blue text screen i see say and quote
Android System Recovery <3e>
Volume Up/Down to move and power to select
Reboot System Now
apply Update for ADB
apply update from exteral storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply Update from cache
# MANUAL MODE#
-- Applying Mutil-CSC-code: TMB
Successfully applied Multi-CSC
Click to collapse
this screen scares me a bit as when i was rooting the Dx2 I bricked my phone several times from this screen so knowing this i am hesitant from
select anything from this screen. so i click on reboot now and it returns me back to my normal setting with nothing changed and returning to full circle of trying to figure out how to flash the darn ZIP file........I am in extreme need of knowledgeable and successful people with the CM working properly on the Samsung Exhibit 4g (MetroPCS SGH-t599N)...
Any help? Sorry again for the novel, i just want to be as descriptive as possible

Custom rom is developed for my phone but Carliv Touch Recovery is unsupported

Hello,
i have some problems with my stock recovery for Alcatel OT4027d (a.k.a Alcatel Pixi 3 4,5 3g version). I decided to select any custom rom which is better for my device. I found some supported roms for my phone. I choosed this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65298270&postcount=629 but, there is some problem. This custom room needs to be flashed throught Carliv Touch Recovery. However, when i follow step by step tutorial on forum, how to install Carliv Touch Recovery, i got 2 errors. First, my device is not rooted but this can be skipped. Second, My MT6572 isnt supported. I dont know, where is problem? Custom rom is developed for my device needs CTR but CTR isn developed for my phone. Is there another way to flash this recovery to my mobile? Or How can i repair CTR error
BTW: 1.CTR was installed throught computer by Easy Magic CTR installer v 2.4
2. I downloaded CTR magic crate tool from another forum and there was that my MT6572 is supported but on
xda forum, there is that my MT6572 isnt supported.
Thanks for Helping. Have a nice day
