I bricked my Bionic while installing the TH3ORY ROM. I was using the Liberty Rom before.
[Fastboot Files] Gingerbread 2.3.4 for Droid Bionic XT875 Verizon USA has not worked.
I’ve used this method successfully before, but now it does not work. It gets through all the steps and says "pass" is the results tap, but the phone reboots to the following screen:
---
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.61
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invailid CG OTV (CG: cdrom): Invalid SP Data
Invailid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invailid CG HAB (CG: system, status: 0X004E)
Invailid CG OTV (CG: system)
----
3L3AS3DRoot and 43V3R root for the BIONIC v2.1 was also unsuccessful for me.
Any suggestions?
I have not found any solutions using Google or forum searches.
I don't know where your system got messed up at, but you need to pull your battery out before it dies. If your battery gets too low you are not going to be able to fix your phone without another charged up battery or the Motorola Factory programming cable. At this point, the only thing that I know you can do to fix your Bionic is use the RSD Lite tool to flash the stock fastboot files to your phone. It's going to return it completely to stock, but its better than having a bricked bionic. If I were you, I would find the img from an older Bionic update. I have bricked my Bionic a couple of times and this is the only thing that I would do at this point. I can't stress enough that you need to remove your battery until you have the stock img and RSD lite downloaded, and ready to use. I would read any posts you see explaining how to use RSD Lite and stock images to get back to stock, be safe not sorry in this situation. Good luck.
I have an external battery charger lucky. I am having no luck flashing to stock using this file VRZ_XT875_5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01.xml.zip. I have done it before, but this time it won't work. Maybe, I bricked beyond repair this time. I hope not. Does anyone have another file I could try, or a different solution?
I found a fix: droidforums.net/forum/droid-bionic-hacks/191459-fix-cg-boot-flash-failure-status-7-sideload-package-zip-ro-build-product
Just .html to the end of the link.
Thanks for all the input!
I'm having the same issue, I'v been trying a few different things for a few hours now and nothing seems to work.
I first tried FXZ but it either gives me an error or says it passed but then I get a boot failure with some Invalid CG errors.
Code:
Invailid CG OTV (CG: webtop): Invalid SP Data
Invailid CG HAB (CG: webtop, status: 0X0035)
Invailid CG OTV (CG: webtop)
I have tried both of these guides.

I tried flashing the unblurred rom onto my bionic, i wiped everything as told in the insturctions after making a recovery from bootstrap. When I went to choose zip file, there was no files to be found on my device, so i went to try and recover my recovery made earlier since i wiped everything else. Now my phone is stuck at:
AP fastboot flash mode (s)(boot failure)
0a.53
Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Invalid CG OTV (cg: webtop): invalid sp data
invalid cg version (cg:webtop)
invalid cg otv (cg:webtop)
I have tried flashing with RSD Lite and it fails every time, and i have tried flashing with the one click restore, it goes through the whole program and when it reboots, it goes back to this screen, how can i recover from this.
Try pulling the battery, plug into computer, put battery back in... hold down volume, push power button....that should bring you back to fast boot.....now try one click...

yes i did and after it flashes the restore files i know get this at the bottom of the screen under where it says usb connected:
invalid cg otv (cg:system): invalid sp data
invalid cg otv (cg:webtop): invalid sp data
invalid cg version (cg:webtop)
invalid cg otv (cg:webtop)
bummer, i have been there before, and pulling the battery solved it....Wish I had more man.
---------- Post added at 04:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:28 PM ----------
another suggestion....i went through another period where nothing would work and I ended up reinstalling the moto driver...when you double click the driver to run, it will pop up saying something about the driver exists and a choice will come up "fix"...click fix...once its done, try again....crossing my fingers
so thank you all but whatever i did totally bricked this thing, luckily vzw had no clue about it so they are overnighting me a new bionic. i hope its not a refurbished unit.
Hey man if you get a refurbished bionic check the earpiece, the one they tried to give me was crackling really bad even at low volume. I sent it right back.

I know your getting one sent to you but you also might want to try the 1-click method. RSD never worked for me but the other method (1 click restore + root) worked great.

One click always seems to work miracles for me. If you can get to fastboot, you can probably restore.
Exact same problem here...

You ass.. You soft bricked your phone and return it to VZW??? It is because of people like you that bootloaders continue to be locked.
Hope you enjoy committing fraud..
Don't play the game if you are not prepared to pay!
I haven't tried the 1 click restore and root yet, but I probably should as many times as i SBF.
I just use RSDLite to restore and pete's moto root tools to get root again.
Those of you having problem with RSD Lite, you're probably on a 64bit computer. I notice there's some compatibility issues with RSD and 64bit. That's why I have a 64 and a 32bit desktop side by side
It's actually pretty easy to get dumped into fastboot on power up, especially if you've been poking around in fastboot.
Some of the fastboot commands trigger a state where the phone thinks you're about to reflash and considers it a failed attempt if you don't, booting you back into fastboot so you can try again. This is pretty easy to figure out; just hold both volume buttons on powerup to get the boot menu and then try selecting normal boot. If normal boot works, then you can either keep using that at bootup or flash any cg and it'll stop going into fastboot.
Still not working? All of the partitions (cgs) are signed, it's a cryptographic checksum at the end of the partition that proves nothing's been modified. When the signature doesn't match the contents you'll be dropped into fastboot with complaints about that particular cg. Only option is to reflash that partition back to stock. The large partitions like system and webtop only need to be checked once, and after the phone is happy that they've been checked you can root and modify them as long as you're careful not to trip up whatever mechanism forces it to recheck.
So today, my data completely quit working. Called VZW Tech Support and they couldn't help because I didn't have access to another phone, this is my only one. So I just figured I'd try to get it working myself by restoring to stock and installing the latest updates. Well, I couldn't get the 5.7 to install using any of the methods I've seen here. I decided I'd wipe everything and use R3L3AS3D 2.1 to restore. In teh process of wiping data and such, I accidentally wiped the webtop partition. THat is the only thing I did that was out of the ordinary. I tried to use R3L3AS3D to restore adn it seemed to do its thing, but I can't get past the fastboot screen. I have also tried to use all of the FXZ files with RSD Lite, every tim eit says flash failed. On teh Fastboot screen it says
Invalid CG OTV (CG: webtop): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: webtop, status: 0x004E)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: webtop)
I hope I didn't screw up permanently. CAn anyone shed some light or have any suggestions?

You're only bricked if you can't even bring up fastboot. Try the one click restore and root program.

I've tried that several times as noted in the OP unless there is another one. It seems to work, but when the phone reboots it goes directly into the fastboot screen.
everything I do throws an error flashing the boot image
Have you tried both of these from step 1?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320414
I have tried both several times. Nothing is working.
Seems similar to this thread. http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...ill-not-flash-boot-fastboot-2.html#post107344
Posted there for help as well.
What kernel are you on?
I have a feeling updating to 5.7.893 effs some stuff up in fastboot
I was never able to update to the 5.7. I was on the 5.6 kernel.

Maybe 5.6 too then.
I'm still on 5.5.893
I saw no reason to try and upgrade.
Did you try holding down the volume rocker to get into the boot menu and select "normal boot"? I was just having some issues with RSD Lite and had to unplug because the file I was trying to flash (a stock /osh partition) wasn't working. It kept coming up with the fastboot "SBF Flash Failed" screen every time I would power off/on the phone and I had a serious pucker moment. I tried getting into the boot menu and just choose normal boot and it worked.
Did you pull your battery at all after the issues and then try the forever root method where you go back to 5.5.886 image and then do the forever root???

You can't flash a boot image on a phone with a locked bootloader, follow the steps in this link to get your system and webtop back to stock. and then got o post 2 for the one click root. http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-bionic-forum/9800-how-get-your-phone-back-upgrade-path.html
so I started out on stock 886 rooted and installed Liberty 3 v1
yesterday my phone restarted and was stuck in a boot loop.
so I tried to FXZ back to stock 886, it booted up but had issues, I could not even get to the home screen and kept trying to connect to the verizon backup servers.
so I FXZ again, now it wont boot and I'm having more issues so I start looking around for other options. so far I have tried the following fixes for my issue:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13485-unbrick-your-bionic-here/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421536
http://bestandroidsolutions.com/update-motorola-bionic-with-android.html
R3L3AS3DRoot and 43V3R root
I'm sure there are others I also tried and most of them I end up with the following error displayed in fastboot.
Code:
Invailid CG OTV (CG: webtop): Invalid SP Data
Invailid CG HAB (CG: webtop, status: 0X0035)
Invailid CG OTV (CG: webtop)
I'm not sure what else I can try I found this post and the person seemed to be having the same issue as me but I tried it and it didnt work.
Thank you in advanced.
try the pathsaver method, it has worked for me many times. here is the link
http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-bionic-forum/10577-bionic-path-saver-1-click-method.html
I'v also tried something similar to that since my first post, here is the link I got it from.
http://www.bionicforums.net/forum/d...ic-path-saver-1-click-method-3.html#post28273
but I'll give it a try anyway.
that didnt work. it trys to push updates and fails which is fine cause I just want to recover, then it does that part and once my phone restarts it goes to fast boot with this error
Code:
Invailid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invailid CG OTV (CG: webtop): Invalid SP Data
Invailid CG HAB (CG: webtop, status: 0X0035)
Invailid CG OTV (CG: webtop)
I'v also tried this guide
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/8838-100...ot-erased-using-bionic-bootstrap/page__st__-5
are you using a laptop? there has been lots or reports that if your having problems. also use a usb port on the back of a pc. it seems you have tried almost everthing out their. hope you get it fixed
nope, I'm using the micro usb cable provided when I got my bionic and its plugged in to a usb extender which is plugged into the back of my desktop. Thanks me too.
have you tied without the extender? got nothing to loose
yea I'm trying that now
nope same thing as before
I solved it. thanks for trying to help
Glad you got it working. How did you fix it?
well, I thought I did, I got to recovery and then I was able to boot the phone up. but after a few minutes it rebooted and now I'm back where I started. and I cant reproduce what I did before.
ok so i was surfing the thread about best apps and read about the ROM tool box. installed it and started looking at it. I saw the section for boot screens and thought i would install one. Well turned out thats a BAD idea. I am stuck in fast boot flash mode with a boot failure it reads like so...
Device is locked, status code:0
Battery OK
Ok to program
Connect USB
Data cable
Invalid CG OTV (CG:system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: system, status:0x0056)
invalid OTV (cg: system)
I am not sure what to do now... anyone have any ideas?
Same Problem
I'm having the same issue, I've tried flashing numerous roms via fastboot and nothing works.
I will start with the back story and the stupid mistakes I've made so far. I had my Bionic set up with Safestrap 3.11 with a 4.22 rom in slot one. I erased however my stock rom by accident. From there it always booted up in AP fastboot. I could go in to normal bootup and select the 4.2.2 rom to run but is was buggy. In an attempt to fix it and start all over. I've tried running through the RSD lite and FXZ with the .246 file. Well now I get
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.72
Battery OK
Cannot Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invalid CG OTV (CG:system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG:Ststem, status:0X004E)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)
I can hold down both volumes and get the phone to allow me to select AP Fastboot, however from there is I run RSD lite and .246 it runs through the entire process saying PASS, bit when it reboots, it shows the above screen error. If i try to select recover, it shows the Boot Failure message above.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if Im out of luck. Please tell me so I dont waste any more time on this.
Thank you!!
It needs to be erased entire internal storage... have you done that to or you have modified xml?

Check into the house of bionic. That might help you. Read read before you try though.

Other than that start up screen, that's all I have access too. Is there a way to erase entire internal still? I don't know what a modified xml is. Can you tell me what I need to do?
