I have Sony Ericson Xperia X8, i bought it from Italy 3mobile,but it doesn't work for other SIM, is there any method to unlock it, if i update the firmware,or unlock the boot loader can unlock it.
I have the code, but I can't get to the screen to insert it. It used to appear after the pin unlock screen, but I can't remember when it stopped showing.
I'm using nAa Kernel with miniCM7
no one can help?

Revert back to stock rom and kernel. Insert your foreign sim card. Boot up the phone you will then be notified to enter network unlock code. Enter the code. It will work!. Then flash back to whatever custom rom and kernel you are using.

Stock ROM: In my "Sony Ericsson" folder on MediaFire.
Flashtool: In my "Flashtool" folder on MediaFire.
See link in my signature.
I'll give it a try.
You maintain a very usefull Mediafire folder!
Thanks
Uh. I downloaded rom.7z from your MediaFire directory.
How can I flash it on my phone ? CWM does'nt see it.
And if I unpack it and zip it again (in zip), it doesn't work either.

The 2.1.1.C.0.0 7z?
Extract with any program capable of unpacking a 7-Zip archive.
You should now have a new file, about 250MB in size, carrying a .ftf extension
Copy the FTF into the "Firmwares" directory inside the Flashtool directory.
Start Flashtool.
EDIT: May I ask you about who told you to ZIP the file or do other things with it?
The FTF ROM image is just 7-Zip'ed because MediaFire has a 200MB/file filesize limit
It was my idea because I didn't get any .tft file by unpacking archive but a folder containing .img files.
So it looked like a recovery folder. That made me think to zip this folder.
I found some 2.1 tft elsewhere and now phone is Sim unlocked.
Thanks for your help.

Yes Astro was pre-installed. And there was no Box installed. This is the generic firmware "as-is". I did not add or remove anything from it.
Tried this last night and halfway through the flash one of the files corrupted.
Then the phone got stuck in boot loop and it took the best part of two hours to get it fixed again through SEUS.

The deal is there. All you need to do is install the box app from Google Play and register/sign on through the app. (Think part of the sign in needed a pc for me but when logged through the phone the account got upgraded to 50GB)

Hey,
in latest firmware there is a update to S1Boot (to Version R10A21). I think most users who DONT USE PCC/SEUS will not have the update because Flashtool does not decrypt it correctly.
I packed it up into German Firmware, so if you are interested you can flash this Firmware and then just reflash ANY OTHER Firmware if you dont want to stay on German one. After S1Boot got updated it will stay updated no matter what Firmware you flash afterwards, becasue normally it is not included.
File can be downloaded here from my Firmware collection, directlink to Xperia T folder:

It is included inside the SEUS files for the 195 Version, but "problem" is that we need to update Flashtool so that it decrypts the File correctly. For now we only added the "alternate" decryption for Loader, now S1Boot seems to be updated too Which is quite good, maybe they add features in future like button for recovery

Do your PCC Files are 3 or 4 Files? If your firmware includes the S1Boot update then it should be 4 Files!!
IT CAN BE that the branding firmwares does NOT include the S1Boot update, maybe that is the reason

But guess what, (Like a noob) i forgot i cant use pccompanion anymore because of unlocked bootloader..D'oh
Anyway, any chance of instructions on how to manually decrypt it (Probably nothing simple) or if I send you the files can you incoorporate them into my .ftf so I can flash it?

Difficulty
Easy
Time taken
I did it in less than 10 minutes
1. Download one of the .ftf's from the OP that have the s1 boot update in title.
2. make a backup of your current rom
3. Download, install and set up flashtool. (Link in the all in one thread)
4. Drag and drop the .ftf into the open window of flashtool.
5. Tick all the boxes that say exclude except the one that says exclude uncategorized Check the attached image
6. Flash the .ftf following flashtool instructions
7. Reboot phone and check your s1 boot version, it should now be updated
8. Reboot into recovery and restore your backup.
9. You are now on the latest s1 boot with the same rom you had before.
EDIT
Alternative Method.
Flash this LT30_7.0.A.3.195_Generic DE (S1Boot-ONLY).ftf - 725.46 KB
(N.B. It is reported to relock your bootloader, just unlock it again if thats the case, info taken from this post)
I just removed all the unnecassary files from one of the .ftf's provided by Bin4ry

Hi all,
I bought an Xperia T recently and I discover my locked bootloader when I rooted it.
Today since 2 weeks of testing my official .195 rooted rom I found that the phone is an energy eater.
So I tryed to find an upgrade of my phone with a custom rom and a custom kernel.
Obviously it's not possible, or I am not able to do it. When I'm flashing a new rom via CWM + flash CWM flashable and RebootFix no rom start.
So I would like to know which roms are flashable on a locked bootloader ?
Is there a list ? Which types of rom can I put to my phone ?
Regards,

I bought an Xperia T recently and I discover my locked bootloader when I rooted it.
Today since 2 weeks of testing my official .195 rooted rom I found that the phone is an energy eater.
So I tryed to find an upgrade of my phone with a custom rom and a custom kernel.
Obviously it's not possible, or I am not able to do it. When I'm flashing a new rom via CWM + flash CWM flashable and RebootFix no rom start.
So I would like to know which roms are flashable on a locked bootloader ?
Is there a list ? Which types of rom can I put to my phone ?
Regards,
N3o

You cannot use a custom kernel on a locked bootloader, so any rom that requires its own kernel you can not use (e.g CM, AOKP, PA etc)
There are a few roms you can use, one is mine and the other actually says in the thread title its for locked bootloaders. Its by hackitz. Look in the development thread.
As for a list, I currently have a list of all available roms for our devices in the all in one thread in the Q&A section, however, it does require a bit of reorganising and I am due to get round to it soon.
I will oranise it into
Device/LB or ULB/Version
Untill then I suggest you can try any stock based ROM. Follow the T/TX link in my signature to find mine.
EDIT, Now that I have ANSWERED your QUESTION, have a guess which section it should have been posted in

OK, but no need to say thanks on XDA, they have provided a very handy thanks button for that, so if you ever feel the need to express thanks to anyone for any reason on here, just hit their button.
If you have any issues with flashing my ROM just send me a PM.

Would this kernel function ? Advanced Stock Kernel V5 with Cwm. Init.d support and root package ?

if you are on locked bootloader then yes
EDIT....D'oh
If you are on a locked bootloader then you cannot flash the custom kernels anyway, so no point trying. Just flash the ROM and CMW flashable and rebootfix.
Ok, all is alright after flashing your rom.
There is one thing a few disturbing... When I go to Album app a popup with memory unavailable appears...
After umount & mount (sd & ext_sd) under Recovery I still have the issue.
Any ideas ?
Edit : I currently trying this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070547, I give you feedback as soon as possible.

This take a long time
I backed up the internal memory and erased it.
External memory is in progress, waiting to format once the backup is finished.
Issue still here after backed up, formatting ext_sd & int_storage

OK, try deleting the internal memory from settings/storage
Backup first obviously
Only one small problem... Take a look at the screenshot... What's this greeen square ? 2g/3g logo ? H+ LOGO is ok. And how to center the clock ?

Hmm, Someone mentioned that ages ago in my rom thread, not sure what it is because I dont have it on my phone. Have a search in that thread. Which phone do you have? Try turning data on and off.
To centre the clock you need a new framework, you could look in the theme and app section for a new lockscreen, but I didnt bother to centre it as I dont mind it over on the right.
This is the 3g+ icon that is not correctly inserted (i think because france have 2g/3g/3g+ and H+ logos)
I try to get a correction or I change the lockscreen if I can't move the clock.

I have been looking around here the last 2 days since I purchased a new white LT30p (9.1.A.0.489 firmware, 3.4.0 kernel, 6.0.1.2 CWM, locked bootloader). Great screen and Fast. I wanted to know if there are any roms that I could flash that have the CM/T-Mobile theme chooser. I don't want to unlock it due to it having to be done through Sony, so unless there is a rom I can flash with theme chooser or another way to unlock it,I guess I'll throw it on eBay, take loss and buy an unused white Arc S. Thanks.
For more info go to main thread posted by @kingvortex but use following kernels for your device (ZR):
MOD EDIT @gregbradley
Please re-upload to another download site that does not require a redirect to a commercial site.
Please check your PMs
Thread closed until this is fixed
P.S: These kernels are same for all Xperia ZR models (C5503 , C5502) because of contain kernel only so you can use them for both C5502 and C5503 models.

Extract kernel.sin and loader.sin from .ftf rom and copy them to a new folder
in flashtool goto Tools/Bundles/Create then select that folder and complete blank textboxes (double click on Device field and select disired device)
in the left listbox select both files (kernel.sin , loader.sin) and move them to the right side then click on Create button to make .ftf kernel in firmware folder which placed in installation directory of flashtool

Thanks for sharing my guide here.
The easier way to create a kernel only FTF is just to open a complete FTF in your archiving software (I use WinRAR) and delete everything except kernel.sin, loader.sin and the META-INF directory. That's it. It takes seconds.

If you updated via OTA, then root is usually kept in that case.

Lots of reasons:
If OTA isn't released yet.
To recover from a brick.
If you've modified /system then OTA will fail.
If your bootloader is unlocked then you cannot update by official methods.
Etc.

flashing this
Hi guys,
It may be another thread I know, but prior I wanna flash this, I am unable to make a proper backup either with CWM (skips backing up android installed apps so the backup is useless) or with TWRP. (it is just not starting the backup to ext_SD)
Can anyone help? those threads are kinda dead

I did an OTA update (about 130 mb). after long usage, my battery died and phone powered off.
When I tried to charge it, the phone was bootlooping. It happened for 1 hour and the phone was damn hot.
Luckily, I woke up took the phone out of charger -- otherwise i would have seen a "Xperia ZR Barbecue" the next morning.
The phone did not even get connected in flash mode or fastboot mode because of 0% battery.
I managed to charge the battery a bit and, thank god it got connected in fastboot mode.
I unlocked bootloader and flashed mokee 4.4.4 kernel. Then offline charging worked.
When it was charged enough, I relocked bootloader and flashed .101 JB stock rom, and did a fresh update through PC Companion.
Now, offline charging is fine. For a while I thought I had my phone bricked.
But thank god, I was able to recover it.
So the advice to everyone who did an OTA update is to check offline charging is working fine, before your battery dies.
please anyone upload Xperia ZR_10.5.A.0.230_kernel_only.ftf for 5502 variant
