Why do you put your phones in your signature?

Ok, i do it too
But why is it that almost 80% XDA members list their phones/tablets/devices they own in their signature?
I only do it because everyone else does it. But why? Is it some sort of tradition?
Some people put their devices.. But some go to the etreme to listing every aspect of their phone, from the hboot, kernel, radio, cpu set up, ad even apps installed!!
Who actually bothered?
And what is the point of it? Do you do it to show off what devices you own?

It does it easier for other people when you need help.
Example:
"Heeelp i did this, and then that happened!"
The natural question to ask is what device, ROM etc. he has. By having these things in your signature makes it easier and faster for the "helper(s)".
And of course, it's a smartphone forum. We like to talk about our phones. Go to a car or computer forum and you'll see the same.

Well, i dont intend to buy any app ... specially when i can do my work for free the free xda app is great. It just doesn't have some features i don't really care about

There are no devs right now working on the device (well, me, but i'm not really a dev )
I'm trying to port a fully working CM9 to device, after that, many more changes can come, so, don't despair

That's poo but go you dude if I can help in any way giz a shout I can't test any roms or anyfin the missus won't let me use her phone for testing lol but if I can help in any way am willing to I also wouldn't mind learning how to do all that stuff myself lol

I'm still a beginner so, all i can say is that there is a looong, long way to go from wannabe to dev, i think i'm somewhere in the middle
But there is always a start for everything, i got a passion for this since this summer when i released my first ROM that is basically a CM7 modified and tweaked for Dell Streak 5, and i use Android Devices since last summer, i'm still young, the rest is biography

EDIT: I will try to continue developing the rom in spare time, but I am currently doing Year 12, and am studying TEE Subjects

You should keep developing the ROM, as there are few developers around that are actively working on the device, any should do, so give your ROM a name, make a big thread with many details and pages and images and good luck

Yeah mate, given the lack of roms/developers I think everyone is willing to try out any rom. Good Luck!

This phone definitely worth more work on it and i agree with everyone anything would help. Great to see some movements in Development section since last few days.
