Is their a way to lengthen the time before the phone goes to sleep during a call or when at the lock screen? It seems to take about 5 secs after i answer a call or go to the lock screen before they shut down. Its really annoying for me. THANKS!

I have my screen timeout set to 15 sec. That's just fine if you're not using your phone but there are moments when this timeout is not needed.
e.g. When I'm reading something on a site - screen times out in those 15 sec
when I'm writing a message and I stop to read it and then want to delete last part of the text, I hold down backspace and screen times out in the middle of erasing text - so it means it only picks up touch when I lift my finger off the screen.
I guess a quick fix would be to change screen timeout to those 30min, but then I'd always have to turn off my screen manually if not needed.
So I'm looking for a "smart" screen timeout solution if anyone knows any.
Thank you
Why not turn it up to one minute? It's easy enough to turn the screen off manually when you put it away, so you don't really end up wasting battery power. And it's almost always enough to keep the screen on when you pause to read something.
Even if you do forget to turn it off, it's not long enough to waste much battery power and it should be pretty safe, the capacitive screen shouldn't react to anything when it's in your pocket.
Why do you set it so low? So you can avoid turning it off manually? For me it's a habit to hit the power button as soon as I'm not focused on my phone, but I can understand if some people don't like it that way.
That is weird that it times out while you're holding a button. I would have expected that to keep the screen awake.
I would expect that any app running in the foreground would disable screen timeouts, but.on the other side that would be killer if you forget to go to home screen - it would eat your battery.
I guess that 1min timeout is only solution for now.
TY for your reply.

Is there a way to NOT have the SMS wake my screen? It gets annoying as the screen turns on then just drains until I turn the screen off. I don't want to have to set my screen off time to something quicker... just wondering if its possible?
I'm using a pin lockscreen. I cannot get the display sleep time to stay at anything other than 15 seconds. I can change the time to anything else but once I leave setup it's back to 15. Any ideas
Did you set both the Automatically Lock time under Security & Screen Lock and the Sleep time under Display?

Yes, Lock screen after 30 seconds, Sleep after 30 second of inactivity.
I have an odd issue where when I get a notification or wake my phone to the lock screen but not unlock it, the lock screen will never timeout. The lock screen just stays on until I manually sleep the screen again. This happens 9/10 times. If I wake the phone upright, the screen will go back to sleep in the normal 10 seconds. Also if I wake the phone while it's flat on a table, then lift the phone, it will dim, then go to sleep as usual. I tried a factory reset without restoring from a backup and it's still going on. Anyone have ideas? It's killing my battery and it hardly makes it through a day.
Hi guys,
I've been trying to find a solution to this issue for a while now and it's driving me crazy. I love my ROG II but my only complaint is that the screen timeout is SUPER short. Its like 10 seconds and then my screen goes dark. I have to constantly be touching my screen so it doesn't go to sleep while I'm watching a video or reading an article. Even when I'm trying to show someone a photo or anything on my screen they always say "Oh, it turned off". So annoying! I went through all the settings but can't find anything! Please tell me I'm missing it and that there is actually a solution to this! Thank you so much!
You should be able to change the time out in settings > display > sleep
It's currently set to 10 mins. Still goes to sleep after about 10 seconds of inactivity. ??
