i would post this in the developers thread but I don't have enough posts. I have a bolt but a friend bricked his revo into fastboot and I'm trying to get it back up. I've searched the internet for ways to fix it, but nothing has worked yet. I'm losing my mind here as I have been searching for hours literally. I have fastboot and sdk working but the commands to flash recovery and erase it fail on me. I've installed the drivers from lgs website. Any help out there for someone who I stuck?
Try a different cable, usb port, or possibly computer. According to thecubed, lg's can be picky about that stuff sometimes.

I got this exitrecovery.zip file from someone. I booted to CWM and used it.
Getting out of fastboot was a little tricky.
You have to push a recovery image via command line to the phone
fastboot flash recovery <name of img>
How to i flash a boot.img using a cwm zip?
Can't seem to be able to mount mmcblk0p9
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
My guess would be to use advanced restore in CWM. Just a thought though. Don't know if it will work. You're working a a new boot screen, I assume.

Edits to the rooting on the boot image.
I have the boot.img file but cant figure out how to get a cmw zip updater.script file to push it back
Can i generate a new md5 that cmw would recognize?
Then i could use advanced restore.
I would rather use a zip.

Hey k0g, just woke up, if you can upload the boot.img and pm me the link, I will make a cwm zip for you. It's kind of hard to explain but I can make it and you can check it out.

In the default.prop? It's funny that you brought this up because I have been looking into it myself the past few days lol. The only problems I see are we need a copy of the v6 boot.img, and we need a way into fastboot when on stock v6. I think if we had a way into fastboot we could just push a cwm recovery.img, boot into recovery, and flash the super user and su and set proper permissions. The only problem is I don't know how to force fastboot on the phone. It sounded like thecubed has gotten into it since he bricked his phone through it so I have messaged on how he got into it. I have already also messaged the guy that dropped us the tot file for v4 to see about v6 but haven't heard anything there.

The tot would have to come from lg, but I don't even think it would be necessary if we found a way to enter fastboot mode on the factory v6 recovery. I could be wrong there, but there is only one way to find out lol!

This happened to me recently as long as you can get into recovery your should still be fine. With TWRP you can use Adb sideload to push a rom back onto the phone.

Holding down the power button long enough like 30 seconds should power off the phone. Maybe try to hold the Vol down button too like your entering the recovery. that might trick it to power off or reboot.

Thats good you got to recovery if you have TWRP you can use the ADB sideload commands. other recoveries may have a similar option. Here is a guide how to sideload.

You don't need to switch to a different phone. Just try to learn how to do this stuff. Go to HTC's and Sprint's Web sites and download drivers. Then, try to flash a ROM. PM me, if you want, and I will try to help.

I was too up until last week when i found all these guides and tools available here. Plus there are plenty of people available and willing to help here no need for a new phone. Install the drivers on your computer, reboot into recovery and use the adb guide to sideload a rom all these processes are well documented.
Download the tool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40341536
Download a Rom you want.
Then connect your phone to your computer while in bootloader, click sideload Rom from the tool you downloaded, then select your Rom. Profit.
You may need to click install HTC drivers from the tool as well if your phone isn't recognized by the computer.

My point is if you learn to DIY most members won't freak out as much because they will have the knowledge to hopefully fix the problem.

HI ALL,
I have successfully rooted my HTC and Samsung devices before but I am very new to LG phones.
I did root with ioroot22 (worked perfectly).
Then I attempted to install CWM with flashify app.
But in the process I flashed CWM incorrectly (I think)
When I boot phone I am just stuck in fastboot black screen.
Am I screwed? Seems like Sprint TOT or KDZ files are not available yet.
Anyone know what I can do to get phone working again. Any help is very much appreciated
Please note I can get into CWM when I press - & power but can't really do anything beyond that.

So you are actually able to get into recovery and use it? What happens when you try to make a back up? Does it let you? I know these questions don't help you. I could probably upload the factory recovery and we can try to put it back on in fastboot mode

Seems you should be able to get your kdz file from LG.

Repace xxx with your 15 digit imei.
resultant page has a url about half way down. Use that and it downloads your firmware from LG.
Haven't tried but you could maybe use this installer to reflash:

To the other poster, mrphil101, putting my IMEI didnt work on that website. Dont think LG has publicly released the kdz file yet.
Regardless, i was able to bring life back into my phone with the help of a member name, wolfgart. He was able to somehow provide me both the .tot & .dll for my sprint variant.

to bad...T-mo just released their phones too. Must be a sprint things. ISP's sure can hose things up with their firmwares, all that bloatware crap and untimely updates. To get the KK bootloader, I flashed the latest OTA through rsd lite. It should keep the boot loader unlocked but will remove root. If you plan on using a stock ROM, Q9Nap's GPE is very smooth and stable. Their thread gives links and instructions on how to flash OTA.
So the Frog has officially Croaked his Phone.
Yes you heard right I have managed to kill my phone. Only good thing is that I couldn't use it for much more than a mini wifi tablet so I didn't really loose anything.
I could not get Twrp 2710 to work was because I had the old boot loader So I decided to update the boot loader which I did but now the phone will not go out of the boot logo screen. I have successfully reinstalled my ROM and still will not go past the boot logo screen. I have tried fastbooting back to the old bootloader but no luck there either. I have spent about 2.5 hours this morning trying different things to get it to work and nothing I have found or came across will work. I have however successfully installed twrp 2710 and now have it working. Considering that is the only area of the phone That I can actually get into i guess thats something.
Some of the older Roms won't boot on the kk kernel they will not boot past the boot logo... When you upgraded did you flash the entire kk firmware via rsd? And it wouldn't boot past the boot logo...
