Hi Guys
Is there a way to change the default lockscreen?
Here is my situation. I installed a corp version of Lotus Notes Traveler so I can access work email. This software forces you to setup a lockscreen password via the stock locckscreen pin setup. If I disable the stock lockscreen pin, the software package automatically disables itself and unnstalls.
I tried downloading GO LOCKER, but whenever I lock teh phone, first the stock lockscreen and then GO LOCKER comes up.
I don't mind having to put my pw in, but I would like to change the default lockscreen....any suggestions?
Thanks
Based on my history with phones and policy pushes involving security on phones, you cannot disable the default lockscreen in favor of a replacement and still get your email unless it is done at perhaps a ROM level. The PIN code or password authentication is directly integrated into it. Third party apps do not have the ability to replace this policy as best I have found (I have tried).
However, some third party apps will try to auto-slide the default for you on the default locker so it is less annoying having 2 lockscreens, but have never worked well for me.
Same problem here

Hi there,
Im stuck with the same issue. On a previous phone running CM7 I was able to completely bypass it using the options within CM7 to disable lockscreen. I have a new phone now that is not supported by CM7 yet. So Im facing the same issues you are. Any thoughts on this? :highfive:

So I've been spending the better part of an hour trying to convince widgetlocker to block sms popup but can't seem to figure out the proper system name. I have tried "SMS Popup", "android-smspopup", and "com.smspopup.*" any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to data/app and try to find it.

why not just uninstall SMS popup or tell SMS popup not to try and unlock screen?
It doesn't unlock the screen. It pops up in front of widget locker instead of waiting for me to unlock it like it does by default. I tried the whole trying to figure it out through installed apps thing too. Even tried finding it before the names changed in running apps list. Not happening.

I'm also trying to figure this out... I love the customization for individual contacts that SMS Popup offers, and I'm not ready to lose that.... so if anyone can figure it out... haha.

I have never once said it unlocks the screen. And it never unlocks the phone on any setting. It does turn the screen on by default but I turned that off long ago. the problem is when I turn the screen on sms popup sits on top of the lockscreen with widgetlocker. Widgetlocker has an option but you need the actually system name such as "com.handcent.nextsms" to handcent. I just need that one little line of text to fix this. Just don't know what it is for sms popup.

Handcent has an option to enable/disable popups on top of the lockscreen
Ahh but I am using sms popup as I like the stock sms app.

Oops, my mistake.

All you had to do to get that line was navigate to /data/app with root explorer and find SMS popup.
net.everythingandroid.smspopup-1.apk
Its a liveable issue. It doesn't wake the screen at least but I know there has to be a way to figure it out. Its probably not even that hard but I don't know enough about programming or how android works to do so. I've been on vacation since the issue started and getting on a plane home now. Hopefully ill be able to figure it out with a better workspace blah.
Edit: either you posted that while I was typing or im blind. I actually tried that my device just showed smspopup.apk I thank you very much sir.

Couple of quick questions.
Camera quick launch stopped working for me. I can double tab the home button and it doesn't start. If I go to the camera settings and toggle it off then on, it will work again for a little while, but shortly after it will stop again. Any suggestions?
Second thing, I use Google Now launcher, but wanted to turn TouchWiz back on for a little bit, just to play with it and see if I wanted to stick with TW for a while, but when I go to settings, Default apps, Home, Google now is selected, and TW (as well as TW Easy) are greyed out and say "Doesn't support work profiles". I don't see anywhere to change work profiles, or set up profiles at all...
Thanks,
TR

I'm actually having these exact same issues, I thought I was losing my mind. However I'm using just the S6, not the S6 edge. Does not support work profiles makes me think that it might be related to Samsung Knox?
Edit: Apparently the quick launch feature is, understandably, permanently greyed out in the samsung knox version of the camera app. Perhaps some of the settings are spilling out into the regular phone environment?

Well, since I posted this I reset the quick launch (again) and it seems to have stuck this time. I turned it off, rebooted, turned it on, rebooted, and it seems to be sticking now for several days anyway.
Regarding TouchWiz, I uninstalled MyKnox that I had set up for work email (they want device admin, so I only do it in Knox so they can't erase my device), and I could pick TouchWiz again, so that was it. I quickly went back to Google Now Launcher again anyway .
Maybe Quick Launch of the camera has been working because Knox was uninstalled? I'll re-install and see what happens.
Hi.. I am having the exact same issue with my launcher
But I don't see where I can change the settings for the work profiles
I never apply for any work profile/Samsung Knox.. So i really have no idea to change the settings
Please help
I have a XT1053 with stock 4.4.4 and have been having this problem for the last few months.
Somehow, the touchless control is now stuck behind my PIN lock. I have encrypted my phone, so the PIN lock is required. I used to be able to do things like "OK Google Now, what's the weather?" and Google Now would open and show me the weather, or send text messages. Basically the usual use, but recently the touchless control screen doesn't show when I say "OK Google Now", just the PIN screen. I can tell that the voice recognition is happening because Google Now will read me part of the weather, but usually gets cut off as the device goes to sleep before it finishes.
I'm not prompted to say or enter my PIN, I can enter it and get into the Google Now screen but not without using my fingers.
I haven't been able to find anyone else having this particular problem so I don't really know what to try. I've tried disabling Touchless Control, retraining, uninstalling updates (Moto Voice) all to no avail.
Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?
Oh thank you. I was going nuts because I thought I was the only one. I posted on here as well and no one responded. I have been having this issue for the last few months ever since a Google search app update.
I have an exchange work account set up that forces me to have security on the lock screen. I have the pattern lock set up.
At this point I'm waiting for the lollipop update and hoping that it will fix that problem
Don't know why I didn't think of this before, I uninstalled updates to the Google App and everything is as it was before. If I can find a repository of various versions I will experiment to try and find which version broke.
Just FYI, I got the 5.1 update over the weekend. The updated Moto Voice app, and the latest Google search app are once again working together. I'm able to use the voice control without entering my PIN again.
Same here waiting paid off this time
So with the recent system less root and Android pay being functional, for the first time I'm actually using a pin on my phone. I thought the default behavior when opening the camera on the lock screen was to be able to quickly open and use it but not access any other part of the phone. But apparently it goes straight to the lock screen. I thought I would function like Google maps. You can use the app, but when you try to leave it, it asks for the pin. Am I missing something in the settings? Running cataclysm 6.0.1
That's how mine works on 6.0.1, swipe up from corner and camera comes on, photo preview has a lock on it and when you go to view pics it asks for pin

Nope. It is working as it is supposed to. Soon all apps will work that way. As working like maps is now is a security hole.
Well that's disappointing. Thanks for the answer
Hi, I'm on stock 12.0.9.0 (QJOEUXM - global EU channel)
This update redacted the facility to lock apps in memory and select Split Screen from the Recents menu (apparently it was unstable for some users - it's to come back in a later update)
So, as it stands when you long press an app in the Recents menu, instead of being offered Split Screen, Lock, Info, it just takes you directly to App Info
Until it's fixed, does anyone know of another way to lock apps in memory?
It's getting very annoying having miui kill processes all the time
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
Did you try to change settings?

Very definitely, yes! I'd been scouring the settings menus to find this feature again but couldn't find anything relevant
This morning the miui Security app opened up and offered me the chance to Lock Apps in memory, meaning I could select the relevant apps which are now shutting down less often
Unfortunately I can't find any way to find this menu again! Miui settings menus are a maze!
And the answer is:
Security app » Settings cog » Boost speed » Lock apps
Thanks to u/sparklesunshine777 on Reddit for that

Hi. so this means apps that are locked don't get killed all the time? There is a lock function in the settings but that just prevents apps from staring without a finger print or pin I believe.
I found an option in CustoMIUizer to stop MIUI force closing selected apps. (but that needs root.) and it seems to help so far the app (RL Bubble) stopped only 1 time today instead of every hour or so but that is still 1 time too many.
So I added it in the security app too. Who would think to look there in stead of the settings. Great find! Thanks.
I think that they make the phones more and more complicated by hiding/relocating/renaming the settings every android version.
Hi, a quick question. I do lock apps in the background, but i notice sometimes the padlock is lets say highlighted and sometimes just dim.
Anybody knows what that is?
Thank you.

Jesus, finally. Thank you man
I have an issue related to this in stock miui with netguard vpn - basically its still killed once in while even though:
Its already locked as described above including autostart;
its already set in stock android system settings for battery use as "not optimized"
its also set with the miui app settings battery saver as (no restrictions)
it's set under network settings as (always on);
So what else can I do non-root to prevent this happening?

Super annoying stuff. especially when you want to multitask, the last resort if not buying a different brand phone is to install a custom ROM, and get rid of MIUI altogether. Imo, even tho battery is not as good is a good sacrifice for sanity.
