6 Hour Karting Enduro for Charity - Off-topic

Hey guys if anyone has a few bucks to spare after the holidays, my friends and I are participating in a 6 hour karting enduro for charity. All proceeds will benefit DuPage PADS (http://ww2.dupagepads.org/) which is setup to help the homeless people around Chicago. You can donate any amount and pay with a credit card so it's super easy.
For the local Chicago folks, the event will be held at Chicago Indoor Racing on February 26th, 2012 from 10AM to 4PM. Stop by to witness the madness of 23 teams battling it out for 6 hours with different strategies and experience levels (from pro karting drivers to newbs).
You can donate directly to our team (Team VFC) or the organization by clicking the following link:

Don't Buy The Sun: Stephen Smith - Liar, Liar. Download 0.79p

Hi All
I very rarely post much on these forums but am hoping for anyone reading this if you can help a little in the following:
As some may know the Hillsborough Anniversary is again fast approaching, on April 15th 1989 96 Liverpool Fans tragically lost their lives that day and after a long & frustrating 22 years the families of those lost are still fighting for the justice that they and the 96 lost deserve, for more information regarding this please follow this link: Welcome to The Hillsborough Justice Campaign
Shortly following the disaster The Sun, one of the biggest selling tabloid newspapers in the UK printed many lies about that tragic day, putting the blame squarely on Liverpool fans and their supposed atrocious behavior, of course all those were sick, vile lies and since that day, Liverpool fans & Liverpudlians including the Everton fanbase have seeked to Boycott that vile newspaper whom still have yet to make any form of sincere apology.
If I can ask for one simple favour; Stephen Smith is a very talented music artist who recently released his album 'Next Train to Nowhere' on the album contains the song 'Liar, Liar' of which he has just released Monday gone (April 4th) in attempt to get it into the charts for the week leading upto the Hillsborough Disaster & there's also been a campaign by fellow Liverpool fans to help get the song into the charts and to raise awareness of not only the lies told by The Sun but to maybe even bring that deserved justice to those family members that one step closer to reality.
We ask that for just a paltry sum of 0.79p to download the song of which as mentioned above can really help bring awareness of the tragedy and what befalled it to a much wider audience and push that fight for justice one step closer to completion.
Not only will you be massively helping families who are still grieving to this day as they still have yet to receive the closure their loved ones deserved but the song in itself is worth purchasing alone written & performed by an exepetionally talented musician.
All proceeds from Liar Liar will be donated to the Hillsborough Family Support Group, Hope for Hillsborough and the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.

RIP.
On that sad day, my grandfather, auntie, two uncles and my uncles friend went to watch their team play a game. Only four returned home again.
The events of that day are widely reported and I've never heard them speak of their ordeal.
One of my earliest memories of my uncle was him on crutches for so long afterwards.
You'll never walk alone.

SimSportsWorld - Sports Simulation Site (Basketball, Baseball, Football & More)

http://www.simsportsworld.com/forum/register.php?referrerid=94
SimSportsWorld is a website created by Rob Gardener which has been relaunched in April 2011 with a whole new attitude. It is currently only supporting basketball simulation (we're in Season 2) and baseball is scheduled to be in full swing *no pun intended* within the coming week(s). Then, in August, football will be implemented as well. Down the road there is plan to add ALL KINDS of sports, including tennis and many many others.
The simulation is bar non leaps ahead of its competition. Rob is an absolutely devoted developing genius who spends hours and hours bringing the simulation to a whole new level. The current system in place for basketball allows development from high school, into college and finally the pros. You can create players or coaches. You are given three free "slots" when you first sign up to do what you please, be it create players or coaches (or a combination of the two). Baseball will also bring a high school level, college and the pros.
There are also points which can be purchased from the point store which can be used to purchase cards, buy shares in teams to become a team owner as well as boost your players. New sets of cards are released each season for each sport and can be collected and eventually will be able to be traded between players, adding yet ANOTHER aspect of the game and reaching out to other types of users such as those who enjoy collecting cards.
In closing, I invite you to take a look around this site, read the forums and see just what we as a community have to offer over at SimSportsWorld.
Yours truly,

Fight Gone Bad 6
On September 17, 2011, CrossFitters from around the world will come together to endure 17 minutes of one of our most grueling workouts in honor of those men and women who have given a lifetime of service and sacrifice.
For 17 minutes, we will push ourselves further, challenge ourselves deeper, feel the doubt and wonder if we can make it, but then remember why we are there and appreciate fully those who we wish to honor. We turn to you, our community of friends and family, to join us by donating what you can or what you are inspired to give to two phenomenal organizations that provide immediate and measurable support without waste or delay.
The heart of an athlete can change the game.
The soul of an athlete can change the world.
Will you support my 17 minutes?

You survived that!
Thanks again for your efforts. These days Capitalism is just legalised greed, and keeps the money from reaching those who really need it. Charity work helps address the balance! Keep it up.

Susan G Koman Race For The Cure

I just wanted to post a quick thread in regards to the yearly Susan G Komen Race For The Cure, which I assume most of you know is a yearly run/walk to raise money for Breast Cancer research/awareness/etc.
My wife does the race every year, started doing it two years ago, and this year I decided I wanted to do it with her. She makes ribbons, bakes pink cupcakes and raises donations at church each year. I decided to lend a hand and see if I could surprise her and raise a little extra money aside from the $150 she raised this year at church.
If you're interested in donating, you can visit our official Race For The Cure page. You can see from the page, it is an official page hosted by the foundation and all donations go directly do the cause. It does not go into my personal account or anything of the sort.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and go to a great cause.
Thanks,
-Jamie

[DevBlog] This is my Development Blog

The Programmer
My name is Jasper Fung. I devoted myself to game development since Summer in 2013. I live in Hong Kong, with my lovely wife and two energetic children. You are about to hear and discuss my gaming voyage, a compilation of failures, disappointment and frustrations. I hope you enjoy scolding at my stupidity, lacking planning or direction by replying this post. I'll check and reply as frequent I can. You can find my latest work via the profile.
Played far more video games than any ordinary teens would had in my youth, I played my first game, Romance of Three Kingdom 1 by Koei, on a PC 80286 with a 20Mb harddisk in it back to 1990. Since then I enjoyed much in the RTK sequels, the epic Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo series (which further deteriorate my studies). At the edge of being kick out from the University I managed to complete the Mechanical Engineering Degree after the SARS virus year (2003) in Hong Kong. My first job as an equity trader was breathtaking and I still working in banking till now.
What the... I spent 2 hours here just to hear you actually still working in a bank? Hell yes. And I will continue the story tomorrow.
