I did a search and was unable to find information on flashing stock Gingerbread 2.3.4 for the Verizon Galaxy Tab 7 (SCH-I800). Is this possible, and with root?
I would love to get a more stable build onto this machine. It crashes alot. also something more responsive would be great too Now that its out for the Sprint Vs. Does that mean its possible to get it on ours?
There hasn't been an official release of Gingerbread for the Samsung Galaxy Tab SCI-I800 (Verizon model). I'm getting very, very impatient and annoyed by it too, especially not that the Sprint model (VERY similar to ours) has already gotten that upgrade and we're still waiting without any details about when to expect it to come to us. VERY annoyed.
Flash the Sprint version that's rooted on here.
Hell, how can one root first?
I have tried NUMEROUS methods at rooting my Galaxy Tab, just to try and get the bloatware off of my device in hopes at making it work smoother, but that didn't work. Anyone, ANYONE, know a fool proof method at rooting the VZW Galaxy Tab 7? z4root, gingerbreak, etc, all didn't work. Ended up having to reset my device just to correct most major issues that the failed root attempts created.

Just rerooted mine (my original z4root stopped working after the last update) and after combing through who knows how many posts and methods, I got it to work with version 1.7 of superoneclick. For some reason 1.9 would get stuck in the middle, but 1.7 had no problem. Good luck.
Can we really just flash the Sprint version? That won't break anything?
Thanks!
It will not connect to 3G but it works fine on wifi. I have been running it for 3 weeks.
Awesome... I don't use 3G anyhow. Thanks a bunch!
I got my tab finally rooted. Now need to have fun!

There's also a leaked VZW stock rooted 2.3.4 in the dev section...
That stock vzw rom... Is it stable?

Why would a stock rom not be stable? Besides the thread is several pages long with folks posting their experiences, me included.
It is very stable, with all the bloat and everything. Suggest BTL Confidence & Paranoia v01 if you dont want any of the bloat. Stable with some minor bugs.
yes the BTL confidence and paranoia is a great rom, I have the sch-i800 verizon model too.
looks like i missed the boat on that one.

Use SuperOneClick.
Make sure you have USB debugging on.
Super no click for GB
Unfortunatly I have tried super 1 click 2.3.3 (with debug on and sd card out) and it dosen't work on the I800 2.3.5
I am going to try cubed 3.
all this just so i can use a six axis controller....

HOW!!!!!!?????????
my coworker just got a gtab wifi only, ive rooted a bunch of phones before but not this device yet. which roms will i be able to flash on this device?
thanks in advance.
It would seem at the moment no big devs are putting any custom roms out for the wifi only tab (GT P 1010).
There is one rom available but to my understanding its only a stock rom with some bloatware removed and extra language support. (Thread in tab development)
I myself have had the GT P 1010 for almost a month now, rooted with Z4, one click lag fixed but still running stock nastiness. I have posted up here about the possibility of getting a CWM running on our tabs, first priority for me personally, but no one seems to have any answers?
Oh and if my sig still says that its bricked, one word, ODIN. Bloody life saver.

I think he's referring to the Sprint Stock Gingerbread update/rom which i've heard does in fact work on the wifi only tab. There is a rooted version of it available as well. Check the Development thread and you'll find it.
Really!!!!! A gingerbread rom that will work on the wifi only tab?
I was under the impression that no roms designed for the GSM tab would work on the wifi tabs? Different hardware and supposedly a different processor?
Not that I'm doubting you but where did you get your source that it will work on the wifi only tab?
TIA.

Be very careful. I hard-bricked mine when trying to flash gingerbread on 1010. DONT DO IT, if its not stated it works with 1010
I recently purchased a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab and I flashed to Euro version to enable phone fuction. I love my Tab and it's so awsome far beyond the ipad that I used to own. Additionally, my tab current version is froyo 2.2 and im wonderding that is it possible to update it to Gingerbread os and how????
MILLions Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hop over to the development sub-section of the Galaxy Tablet forums. There are quite a few options for GB firmware, especially on a GSM Tablet.
Best idea is to check out the overcome thread, they have instructions and all else needed to flash gb.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab (Verzion SCH-I800). I have been searching the forums and Google for an ICS ROM to flash but I am not sure if the ones I have found are for the SCH-I800 specifically. I assume that having one for that particular model number is important? I see tons for the p1000, etc. The few I have stumbled across all had bad or dead links. Anyone have or know of a good thread for a ICS ROM with working links?
If there is nothing for ICS, does any one have a link to the best way to Flash this back to stock (root or not rooted makes no difference to me)?
Thank you in advance for all of your help!

I have the JB/CM10 on my Verizon tab and love it.
What version of baseband are you running? I really like the ICS and JB on my Galaxy Tab (Verizon) but my 3g connection keeps dropping out and not recovering. Before I left stock in the dust I was not having the problems.
Hello, I just got a Rooted Verizon Galaxy Tab and I don't know how to do custom roms on it. I can't even find any custom roms for it as it seems there are only GSM devs currently. It is currently running a Custom Rom and I did a Factory reset and the play store wasn't on it. I downloaded and installed the APK and it force closes. I don't know what i'm doing. I'm a pro with the Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V, I'm learning about the HTC Sensation, I'm not a total noob, but I don't know what to do with this tablet and I don't want to do anything to make it worse without some tips.
Thanks for your help.
