Titanium backup fails - LG Optimus 2x

Hello,
Today i changed rom, i made a backup with titanium backup of some of my games and offcource my contacts. They are foldered on my sd card, but after installing the nieuw rom he cant find these apps.So i cant restore them!
I went to my sd card and i see a map titanium backup with my old apps in it.
What is the best way to fix this?
Tnx allready

Go in settings , backup parameters, and make a new search on sdcard.

In the backup/restore tab, click edit filters, the select "Uninst." in the "By type" section, then apply. That should show up your backups.

Yes lol forgot to say that, by default titanium shows only installed apps.

Hmm, last time i tried to import my Apps, half of them werent able to start...

This problem appeard again and i really dont know how to fix the map with tibackups in it is on my phone and on my sd card and it just wont work!
he does not show options at restore!

had this issue when I had the paid version of TB....then I was suggested by one senior to have the latest free version and using the paid key....I could restore the apps using the TB batch restore....maybe you can download the TB free version from the market and install it...dont forget to uninstall the old version....force stop first and then uninstall...
Hope it helps...it worked for me

REQ: App to make backup and restore all application in one step

Hi guys
i want an application to make a backup from my Application but i want when i want to make a restore operation to install all application without any help or touch from me in other word ( automatic ) is there any program to help me to do that
Sry for my English and thanx for anyone will help me
Titanium Backup...but you need the paid version to do what you are describing.
Titanium Backup is about the best but don't expect it to work perfect..I have paid version on mine and partners phone and on both Titanium Backup often just closes and you have to restart and continue from where it stopped... As yet I have NOT found a good solution for backing up and restoring on Android...
This is one of the reasons my WinMo is still my primary Phone and Android is simply a TOY....
Give Titanium Backup a try may be ok for you...But you will need to paid for it to have the so called on click solution...
thanx guys i will try the paid version and comment about it here soon
Astro has a nice Backup/Restore feature too and its free. For me it always worked perfekly as it creates APKs from your apps (but it does not resore APPdata) and it does not do it in one step because you have to always install the apps separately.
I just threw this in here^^
Titanium Backup is the best for this. It has batch backup and install. So you can install all your backed up files at once, not clicking through each one like all the other programs (Astro, AppBrain). Also it will backup your layout as well so you get the apps right back where they were on your homescreens.
Like mentioned above though it can sometimes be buggy but it is well worth it. Knocked off about 3-4 hours of work each time I flashed a new ROM as I didn't spend all that time messing with apps and layout etc.
Titanium Backup when restore will it ask for each app to give access or not??? as i am using app backup and restore for that it does ask me for each app to install or not.
You need the paid version for it not to keep asking

Is there an app that restores missing market links ?

see title ^^
Apps restored from backup, but backup were corrupted.. could save app+data but no market link so no update notifications, doesnt wanna "over install" 40apps from market (search name, install though already installed)
aTrackDog e.g. shows all apps and if i click them , opens them in market.. but i didnt found a way that it just adds the market link to the allready installed application^^

Look up Titanium Backup.
Open the app, press Menu and select Market Doctor.
This would only restore market links from apps i've backed up with titanium backup with market links. But they come from nandroid and went missing :-/
Titanuim backup not restoring. Links for me. Donate version.

try installing a new app (you can unistall it later)
normally it will recover then.
hey, i wanted to find an answer to this as well. i don't think there's a way to do it if you didn't back up the links.
before flashing a new ROM, i pulled all the .apk's from my phone so that i could install them via "adb install" later. they installed fine, but didn't show up in market.
i think there's a database that holds links between the market and apps you install via the market. titanium backup will back up those links, and restore them later. it doesn't "create" missing links by scanning the apps you have installed and then linking them to the market. it only restores links that it backed up.
installing a new app to "refresh" the market links only works if you've restored previously backed-up links.
if someone can prove me wrong that would be great, cuz i hate installing from the market.. so damn slow cuz it tries to do a bunch of stuff all at once. plus it's easier to script the adb installs.
From settings go to Applications, Manage, click All select market and delete the data. Reboot phone and it should rebuild its databases

There is one on the market for free, eris market fixer or similar.

[HOWTO] Backup my SGS, Backup Apps, Best practices before & after flash

Good evening guys,
I tried to backup my diary entries using Titanium Backup, but when I tried to restore them on the new Firmware they didn't appear. Same for my SMS Messages...
Could you tell what exactly I have to backup?
Thank you for your help!
Backup Methods Before Flashing?
I've been using MyBackupPro, but it does not save any of my settings. I have to set up a lot of stuff like email accounts and so on every time I flash.
Is there a better way?
Have you tried titanium backup? I find it works best.

No I haven't yet. I read reviews of MyBackupPro, saying it's the best So I bought it.
Does Titanium Backup save preferences, including passwords and email settings?

Hey,
I believe it does, it saves all of my preferences with games like Alsphalt so it should do the same with your e-mail.
Try it, it's free.
stupid question: Is somebody working on a custom recovery image with Nandroid or something?

I hope someone is, that would be best option, titanium is brilliant though and has saved me a few times, I have it scheduled to backup everynight.
I also use Mybackup pro for sms and call logs etc.
neither can bring your homescreen widgets back as before.
Is there anything that saves your facebook/google links in contacts? That's the thing I find most annoying having to go back through them one by one...
Titanium backup in its current form is not functioning correctly on my phone aswell as many other galaxys users
yes - unfortunately Titanium Backup currently won't backup the databases :-(
Best backup app for galaxy?
Is there anything out there which will backup our apps, contacts etc before I flash a new rom to my phone? Is it possible in kies? I'm loath to have to link my face book and google mail contacts again
Backup apps/settings to PC? possible?
Hi all, i have seen many threads regarding backup apps such as wave/titanium pro etc but im wondering if its possible to backup to a PC?
as much as its a naughty word, i liked apples way of backing up using itunes. you simply plugged in your phone and voila its backing up into a friendly restorable format.
i just want a simple backup of my device encase i flash to others roms.
is this possible?
i don't know of such application.
but what is so bad about backing it up to the External SD card?
you want your backup to be with you all the time, so in case of "OMG! happens", you can easily Hard Reset, then restore from backup from the SD card.
once on the SD card, you can easily copy it over to your PC, the next time you hookup your USB cable.
if you want it done automatically, you can always create a script on your PC to grab X files from X folder every time the USB connects to X device
I love the backup software from PalmOS, they works automatically just as you wanted.
I never found a good one that actually works on WinMobile
in Android it's almost perfect, it just missing the part to sync the backups to the desktop automatically.
But that's a minor thing, as you can do the batch command mentioned above.
you can try this one for size, see if you like it.

Nandroid v2.0 - Full NAND backup and restore tool
else you can go for PAID applications such as... Titanium Backup and many other ones
never thought of it like that.
as for backup apps which one is proving decent? i see alot about wave and titanium backup.
Yeah... Titanium Back-up is great. You can even try MyBackup Pro. Both are equally good.
MyBackup Pro restores all the apps perfectly but is not able to link those to the Android Market...
what do you guys use to backup all your data before changing firmware
I already flashed my girlfriend's galaxy S twice
and each time i was installing and configuring the device as she want...
Once again there is a new firmware that correct some interesting part (GPS)
but i REALLY don't want to loose 2 hours of my time to
a: install the apps my gf has
b: configure the device (font, ring tone, volume ...)
so question : what are you using to save the time of installing/configurating...
thanks in advance
I'm also interested to know how you make it.. Thanks

Titanium Backup and Restore?

How does this work? I have a full Titanium Backup and I remove a few Apps if I do Full backup again will my Removed Apps be totally gone in the Backup Folder or are they still there from Original Backup? If they are still in the Backup is there a way to get them out so if I need to restore the Removed Apps don't reappear on my phone?
Thanks
They will remain there.
To remove them you can either scroll to the bottom in Backup/Restore and select each one then hit "Delete" or Menu->Batch->"Delete backups for un-installed apps" then Menu->Refresh apps list
To batch restore apps without restoring specific ones Menu->Batch->"Restore all apps with data" then uncheck the apps you don't want to restore, and begin.

To MAKE SURE they are still there you need to HIT the menu button once you have opened up Titanium Backup, then HIT Preferences, scroll down to MAX BACKUP and change it from the default (1) to whatever hou want/need. I have mine set to three. This way it can save older versions of the appear. I have found that on occasion the newer version of apps sometimes have an issue so I go and use the previous version saved. This will also keep your uninstalled appear at the bottom with a line through them. You can usually just click on the lined through app and hit restore. Then choose either app or app+data. Also I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the paid version. It will do the batch restore with one click of the restore appear+data. The free version will also batch restore them all but it goes through each app and you have to say okay each time for each app. Specially if you start trying out different rims every couple days like a lot of us do. Also the paid version (not sure.of the free version) let's you back it up to the external sd card. You just go to preferences, backup folder name, then type in external_sd/ in front of the TitaniumBackup that is already there and it will automatically change it to mnt/sdcard/external_sd/TitaniumBackup.
JUST MAKE SURE whenever you restore NEVER choose to restore system app and data. ONLY restore app+data or you will end up with force closes.

I do not have the paid version but I have a question about the free version. After I backup all the apps and system data, I removed a system application such as "My Files" which didn't cause any problems. If I try to click on the backed up (crossed off in TB) to restore it, I do not have the option to restore.
Is this normal or should I be able to restore a system application that I have backed up?
I've never restored a system app, and maybe that's a paid feature. If there isn't a simpler method, it's pretty easy to copy back in if you're running a custom rom.
Open the customrom.zip, copy system/apps/MyFiles.apk from it and put it in /system/app on the phone.
There are around 50 way to do that. Via USB copy the file to the phone and then use Root Explorer to copy it from /sdcard to /system/apps for example. If you don't see it again in the apps folder, reboot.
I never thought to open the custom rom zip file. thank you!
A tangential question
I've done the TiBu backup but don't see quickoffice in the backup file. Does anyone know why?

[Q] Apps storing

Hi all,
Is there a way to save locally all the apps installed on the phone? My HD is rooted and I like to test new Rom, but I do not like the fact the phone have to download everythime I flash all the apps from the market. I bought a very powerfull backup programm... But I've to download it every flashing time. Is it possible to copy the *.apk from the system/apps folder and put there again once flashed?
Any suggestion?
I think what you are describing here is the Google back up service that reinstalls all you apps at once after a full wipe. This is optional and can be switched off
Personally I use titanium backup and on the occasions I need to do a full wipe I keep the titanium apk stored on my sd and then when the green robot appears on the welcome screen I press all for corners of the screen to exit the set up. I install titanium from the SD and use it to restore my pro key version. Then use batch restore to restore everything it takes a while but its automated at least.
After that has completed I log into my Google account and run the market to check for updates since last backup.
I'm not sure if this is faster than using Google restore but it means you can restore without wifi.
If your talking about being able to wipe the phone but leave system apps in place. Then I don't think this is possible.
