[Q] has anyone got modern combat 3 running on ds7 - Dell Streak 7

hey I'm trying to find a working link for modern combat 3 that will run on my ds7.
Any help is appreciated.

If it is made by Gameloft then i wouldn't hold your breath.

But I have a few gameloft games already on my ds7

Runs absolutely fine for me. Excellent graphics.

no success while trying to run it on HC ..tried different versions

Try changing your dpi. Mine was set at 120 on HC, changed it to 160 dpi and ran ok. Since then i have gone back to 2.2.2 with 160 dpi and all gameloft games perfect
Also for got to mention that i set the build prop to;
change your build prop to G2x:
ro.product.model=LG-P999
ro.product.brand=lge
ro.product.name=lge_star
ro.product.device=p999
(Thanks for "theguy" for this bulid prop)

Thks diddy' ' after editing build prop it works like a charme

you are very welcome, don't forget to click thanks.

I didnt backup my stock build.prop , can you post the original content of the four lines please

Not sure if this is my original because I only have wifi. This should get you started.
ro.product.model=Dell Streak 7
ro.product.brand=t-mobile
ro.product.name=streak7
ro.product.device=streak7
ro.product.board=t20
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7a
ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi
ro.product.manufacturer=Dell Inc.
ro.product.locale.language=en

ver. 1.1.0 and 1.1.1
works perfect without root or build.prop edit
download from approb .com
OR
acer-a500.ru/games

I changed to 160 dpi on HC and got stuck on the Dell logo looping on startup, had to do factory reset.
I don't recommend changing the dpi.

[Q] SD Card r/w speed ATTN DEVS, Is this of any use to us?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010807
I just tested my cappy running Firefly 2.7
R/W speeds were 14.2/4.5 MB/s
When I navigated to the file it said that the cache was 4mb, but upon opening the file to edit it was actually 128kb.
I manually edited the file, to 2mb
speeds went to 29.4/5.0 MB/s
I then edited it to 4072kb
speeds jumped to 29.6/7.8 MB/s
Is this mod something that can be incorporated into the roms?
EDIT: Loading the gallery after these changes is Lightning fast! This is using the internal sd card as well.
I applied the CWM.zip from that thread, but it still reverts to 128kb on reboot.

Check out my kernel here
I've included the tweak in the init scripts on boot.
Was this possibly left this way on purpose so as to not fry our internal storage?

no. running sd cards at their rated speed would not damage them.
And to OP, trust me the devs already know. been talking about it in so many threads.. for the past day and a half. welcome to the party!
oh wait you might want to tell the devs that the fix needs to be renamed to S77sdcardspeedfix in the init.d folder or in the zip before flashing for the fix to stay after reboot!!!

EDIT: my bad forgot to ,mount system R/W
3072kb gives me the best results so far

This seems to be using cache on subsequent runs and getting faster with each run...

If kernel devs dont want to add it in init.rc or as a script in init.d, you can add it straight in the source

Instructions for the program say to exit out completely and restart it for each run . Or you will get results like that.

How did you go about updating the stock side? I have Phiremod as the first boot, and stock Nook as the second. I've updated Phiremod before just using Clockwork, but not sure how I'd update the stock side.
thanks!

Are they using Dal's kernel?
Any kernel version changes?
what wifi improvements? adhoc/infrastructure fix maybe?
Is it safe to allow the update to go through if you are running CM7 off of SD?
I would hate to find any nasty surprises like a force boot from emmc only.

No way. The boot firmware will always boot the sd card first. If it doesn't, I will personally go to the closest BN store and punch the first staff person I see.

Lostboy, how did you do the update? I was thinking that might be able to by just booting into Nook OS and doing the update. I am dual boot with CM7 nightlies.

According to the developer of DVD Catalyst 4, the 1.3 update solves the video playback degradation issue that was introduced with 1.2:
http://www.tools4movies.com/2011/08/bn-nookcolor-1-3-update/
That's very good news for anyone who wants to stick with the stock OS.

That's good news, that means new video drivers and/or kernel, once B&N releases the source for 1.3 the benefits should come rolling into CM7.

Droid 4 build.prop and safestrap?

So I edited my build.prop changing
ro.product.model to LT18I
ro.product.brand to SEMC
ro.product.device to LT18Ii
in order to install and play modern combat 3 as I haven't safestrapped my phone yet I naturally wanted to change it back to the original values to prevent any complications. I did it from memory and I think I got it right but I haven't rebooted yet, could anyone tell me if these are the correct values?
ro.product.model DROID4
ro.product.brand verizon
ro.product.device cdma_maserati
(Also like to add changing the build.prop files worked wonderfully, did not even have to reboot to be able to install MC3. Even after I changed my build.prop back I was still able to play)
Also I'm trying to safestrap my device but hashcode has moved his blog and I CAN'T FIND THE DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL FILES . Anyone know where I can find these ?

Modern Combat 3 issues

Got it working! i've had loads of people PM me about this issue so i have now edited second post with the fix to the issue
Hi All, im having issues getting MC3 to run on my HD2 i keep getting a bootloop on 2 of my roms, im using SD builds of AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7.2 and NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA-SD V2.0 and it will start to load, download the last 4MB of the game using the Asus TF101 Mod v1.1.1 apk then i click play it goes through the first video then as it gets to start loading the menu it will loop back to before the video, edited my build.prop on both build so phone appears as the Desire HD and im from the uk so language is already UK in android OS, what else do i need to do? i've tried several apk's and several sets of Adreno SD data, not sure what else there is i can do? any help will be appreciated, thanks
To get MC3 working on my HD2 i first had to switch to a Android NAND ROM im using tytungs NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.1 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r2.4-uniMAC) i then had to edit my build.prop to match this, its from the Inspire/Desire HD
i'd recommend getting ROMtoolbox, backing up your current build.prop then editing the lines mentioned below
ro.product.model=Desire HD
ro.product.brand=htc_wwe
ro.product.name=htc_ace
ro.product.device=ace
ro.product.board=spade
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7a
ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US/UK <-- Depending on your region, mine was set to UK as its where im from and users reported UK can help as some devices won't boot the game unless system language isn't set to UK
i used this apk *REMOVE WAREZ* then downloaded data etc via wifi if you then wish to you can backup the modified build.prop and then restore your original build.prop in ROMtoolbox but market and everything else works fine for me without restoring the original build.prop
if you have any more issues PM me and will help you out!

besides changing the the build.prop one should go to settings/applications/all/google services.../ and clear data. should work

if there isn't that line you have to write it: ro.sf.lcd_density=240 (240 is standard)
But you must have modified kernel (omar's) to change it. It's not possible to change screen resolution with stock kernel.
