Try to replace your kernel with speedmod k3-3 then factory reset your phone. I was having the same problem and now is gone.
Why dont you go back to GB and start over from beginning.
Lol because i just broke my computer's hard drive. Anyway how do i go back to gb? If i want to?

select any pre-rooted Gb (me, KJ1), n simply flash it thru PC Odin.
Hello forum, well the wife at the moment is on gingerbread, but she was on ics which i put back to gb using pc odin..
We also have the thing with brickbug too
We want to go to a ics custom rom instead of ics stock we had originally....
Are all ics kernals with the bug or is it just stock kernal???
Correct way to clear old stuff on phone? I did clear phone using mount/storage area (was this okay???)
Thank you for any help!!!

It's only the stock kernel which has this brick bug, if you flash a safe kernel you will be fine and can safely do a full wipe.
I would recommend trying cleanote rom and kernel its very smooth and fast and stable and is close to stock.
Start by upgrading to ics again and then flashing speedmod kernel in odin

Eventhough the brick bug scripts are disabled in many kernels it would be preferably safe to always flash abyss kernel 4.2 before a wipe. You have nothing to lose spending a few minutes more. So time to time before switching between roms and doing wipes think and re-think. be safe.
I flashed a custom rom for the first time ever using a tutorial from roottgalaxynote.com. Everything went fine and I'm using a custom rom now. I was just wondering what the wiping is everybody is talking about. I didn't do any kind of wipe, I just installed the rom on top of the rooted stock rom. It seems to be running fine but II still don't know what a wipe does. Any help for a noob? I thnx
Look if u r on ics then there are risks gb is completely safe from this emmc brickbug
Use abyss kerenl it is known to be a safe kernel if you want to wipe
And if everything is working fine than dont wipe

What do you mean by look if you're on ics. I was on standard ics now on. Criskelorom. I did use the abyss kernel. I'm save from bricking using this kernel right?
There are three separate wipes:
1. Dalvik cache, and cache, clears any settings, usually first port of call if experiencing and boot loops or fc's after flashing (Dalvik wipe only available in advanced recovery, not on stock Samsung e3)
2. Full data wipe, aka factory reset, clears all data and settings off device, returns to stock.
Usually when changing from stock rom to custom or different rom types like aokp to cm9, you can get residue which means you'll often get lots of fc's when you boot up. Most people panic when they experience this and do something stupid and end up bricking. Performing a wipe just clears out any debris that may have been left. If you're running smoothly, there's no need to wipe. And yes, you're safe from emmc brickbug, above poster obviously didn't read the CUSTOM portion of your rom description.

I understand that you installed Criskelo ROM. The OP of the developer clearly mentions that do a full wipe, after you have flashed Abyss 4.2 (RedPill). I think you need to read the sticky thread in the Gnote forum first as well as the Public Service Announcement regarding the brickbug, before you do any kind of flashing in ICS.
For the safety of your Gnote pls. pls. follow the installation instructions to the point otherwise you may just brick your device. Yeah your device may be working correctly right now, but it is highly recommeded to follow the installation instructions keeping in mind the brickbug issue.
thnx for your reply. I did read a lot of information on this forum, but to be honest I don't understand it all. As a former iPhone user I'm really new to this stuff. I've been waiting for months to flash the kernel because I was afraid to brick my precious phone.
Is it correct that I'm safe from brick as long as I flash abyss kernel first? So after flashing kernel I should be safe to do a wipe before installing a new rom?
You are on ics, you cannot use abyss. The abyss42 kernel is used specifically for flashing purposes.
Safe kernels for ICS are speedmod and notecore. But even then, i do all my wipes from within abyss, install my ics rom then reinstall a safe kernel.

So the abyss kernel is a safe gb kernel for wipe and installing new rom. Since the kernel is part of the rom another kernel will be installed with the custom rom. Am I right here? So every time I want to use another rom I have to flash with abyss first. But is there still a risk of bricking using using this method? I will never just install a leaked rom or anything.
thats what i do, use abyss to flash any rom even if my current rom is already on a safe kernel like speedmod, notecore or goku.

Ok thnx. Should I only flash roms that use speedmod, notecore or goku? Or do most of the roms use them? Roms like cikrelo, kingdroid etc.
Hi All,
Can anyone guide me with the installation for this rom.
My current setup :
1. Hydracore kernel 4.3b
2. Running ICS Stunner
Can i directly full wipe and then install the asylum build 5 or need to do anything else.
Thanks all!
Yes.You are on a safe kernel as so you can do a full wipe and install the rom
Yeap. Hydracore is a safe kernel.
So, have you installed the build 5?

hello all i flashed jb xxlsc on my gnote rooted and having cwm
after intsalling apps from app backup when i flash anything on it like playstation certificates or xperiia launcher for our device it just freezes at galaxy note bootup splash screen it never gets boot till i factory reset my phone i tried differnt rom like ultimate rom latest and firmware zslm5 all have same problem i am using philz kernel latest. plzz help i wasnt having this problem on ics . plzz help this is a request
i got this problems wif xxlsc too....
i think u need to do it all over it again by not restoring any backup data as most of the custom rom might not tally wif ur previous rom.
cuz different romers have differents deodex system. check it out or someone will give u the right answer !
so far i'm not getting any bootloop when battery is flatt or during screen on pulled out battery n it's startup normally
just like official rom does !
What data are you restoring? Restoring system apps can cause boot loops or force closes.

Just manually paste the apk's which are needed to be in system otherwise try installing them normally don't use titanium for restoring system apps.. Just a advice
