the problem is only with that particular app, every other app runs smooth, the 3.5 was installed using a cab
and what do mean by "what rom"??
thanks
nevermind, i just had to restart the phone, thank you anyways.
Watch out for Advanced Config. Some (like me) have found that it screws up basic function like being able to answer a damn call. There's a thread about this on PPCGeeks somewhere.

Hi ,
I am using an R3AA stock rom
would love to know if there is anyway that the USB to PC screen pops up everytime I attach to the PC USB.I never had this problem using my HTC DIamond.
its a difficult process changing it in settings everytime I had to make a switch
Thanks
(btw I searched and got 0 results)
I think it should be possible. I believe there is a so-called notification event when the phone is connected. You can have this notification fire an App. The Exe is \Windows\USBToPC.exe To creste the required notification you will need a tool like SKTools or MemMaid. I think the USB connection event is named "Start if RS232 connection ha sbeen detected" (Although this is not quite correct ). Try it.

Which ROM are you using? This option is not available in the official R2A. Is it a novelty of R3A?

I'm using cooked ROM from Agent 47_Valkyrie. But I think this is available somewhere in this forum, as a cab
edit: follow this link for the cab file which you can probably try, if you want. Am not sure if it works on official R2A though.

Okay, this seems to be an alternate Exe and driver for USB... That's heavy ammo if it's not already built-in I think you can do it the way I proposed.
You'd need the USBtoPC popup which ain't on the stock X1 ROMs. I've tried a couple of the cabs that are floating around and haven't found one that works. Currently am using a custom ROM that has the USBtoPC popup builtin.

Huh? It's just one of those ROMs cooked by the chefs here. Am currently using Touch-IT.
i tried messing with the notifications using memmaid !!
no use
my knowledge bout reg modding is useless
maybe someone can try that
Cause I wanna be able to do that without installing any custom rom

If you have not tried it yet, I suggest that you try the custom ROMS cooked by our great chefs. There are fast ROMs on this thread and one example is by following the link below reading and downloading the ROMS that might fancy your taste. I suggest that you try ITJE, Smaberg, NRGZ and Agent_47' ROMS which are all great..If none are to your liking, you can always go back to your old stock ROMs.

Hi Folks,
I use a HTC (Touch Viva T2223), I was not sure if this Vogue or Opal. (I have a RAM – 128 MB, Flash Size – 256 MB). Can you please redirect me to the download link of the Android Kernel.
I am not aware on flashing my mobile. Please let me know, how do I do the same. Will the language setting be a problem? I am referring to the keyboard layout.
Also, it would great if you can share information on how do I go back to Windows Mobile, if I had any problem with Android? How will I load Windows on it again?
Thanks in advance for clarifying my queries.
Cheers'
Vijay
Viva = Opal
At the moment, there are now Android builds for Opal. The only thing on these
forums related to Linux is this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462188
I only got my device less than a week ago, but I'm planning on experimenting with this when I can. However, I'm still far from being an expert. So I'm not sure how helpful I'll manage to be.
hmmmm...Thanks for your reply dude!!
Well, dont we have a kernel for our mobile Yet? Doesnt the same build of Touch fits in?

Apparently there are three "Touch"s: "Vogue", "Elf" and "Elfin".
Vogue has a different processor so it's useless. Even though Android can run on it right now.
As for the other two, the difference between them is RAM and ROM sizes. The ELF has less than the min required for running Android so it's a no go.
And nobody managed to get Android to work on Elfin yet (at least as far as I managed to find). Although it's running another Linux build.
Great to know that, the progress is being made..and now we hv a linux on.
Things which amazes me is, HTC touch with lesser RAM, is running Android.!!
Well, Do we have any basic requirements for loading Android OS? I mean, required RAM? Does the email in Android support Microsoft Exchange server?
Heylo Folks.. Any luck on Android for our Opal?
I have one now and guess if its possible.. there is a video that shows it working :S

Android on HTC Touch Viva
Hi guys,
Sorry if any of this was addressed on any other forum (or thread); I looked around for a little while but couldn't find it...
I have a HTC Touch Viva (T2223 - Opal) running WM6.5 after flashing it a couple of months ago. Battery issues appart I'm quite happy with it (sort of, since the only improvement was really the looks on the GUI and now my keyboard is limited to English only). However, this Android thing has been banging on my head and I am looking for a ROM that will make it on my device.
Any clues were I can find it?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
D#1

I think what D#1 is that if Android is available for opal itself right now.
Well to that question the answer is yes and no, yes because it exists and is functional and no because its not complete and has umpteen number of glitches. Ppl have been working on it for sometime now and I think we need to show them some appreciation for their consistency even with no incentive at sight.

Hi, thanks Mr. Zeus... Does that mean I should revert to the original WM 6.1 ROM prior to try to run android on my device?
If so, is there any place I can retrieve the 6.1 original ROM for the touch viva t2223?
Thanks for your time (and patience for my newbie questions)
Regards,

You could try calling your service Provider to give you the Sim Unlock Code or you could pay someone to get you the code.

I posted this response to this same question over in the ROM development forum.
I too am a relatively new user to this board and a complete newbie to flashing the ROM of my Touch Viva. I wanted a newer more finger friendly ROM for my touchscreen Viva and getting the exact answer to how to flash the phone wasn't easy.
I read through different posts and basically pieced together the information that I use from many different posts. I too was concerned about "bricking" my phone and wanted to get it right.
I've flashed my phone with roughly a dozen different ROMs and have finally settled on one that I like and have also flashed a second Viva with an upgraded ROM also. So if you take your time and have a little patience you can do it.
I hope this helps.
Jagan2's guide
I found a great new post by Jagan2 on how to install/flash a custom ROM. You can find it here.
By the way, he is also the chef of a very good custom ROM called Evolution 2 which is what I'm currently using. I'm patiently waiting for his upcoming 2.5 version.
yea man im using evolution too its amazing rom for WM 6.5 ... give it a try and everything and all the steps u will find the in the fourm about hard spl and installing the rom too lemme know if u need help

Ativ 3 ? link to that phone please.
I would go for Donut , and when you hacked the "bios !!! " you are almost there.
so your steps to do:
hack IPL bootloader.
hack sbl1.
hack sbl2.
hack sbl3.
hack UEFI.
make drivers for the whole OS.
build a rom.
boot android.
have fun and please post here again when you have it booted

Unfortunately at this time, installing another OS on the phones other than what is already there. I'm a little confused with the ATIV 3 device. If you're speaking about the ATIV Tab 3 and not the ATIV S Windows Phone, then this is the wrong forum location.
If you can reply back with some clarification, I'll be glad to help.
Yes, im sorry i cannot quote i m on my phone, but as you said is the ativ tab 3
here you can see it
This one comes with w8 preinstalled but i ... hate ... windows 8. And i wanted an alternative to this software on a tablet that has a really good hardware and a lot of memory and hdd to spare, iknow that dual booting is possible but apparently only with androidx86, thank you for your answers
OK, that's a moderately-cool looking product, but there's a reason we hadn't heard about it here:
This is the Windows Phone 8 forum. That is not a phone!
