Samsung recently released a version of Tapatalk HD for the Galaxy Tabs.
Catch is it is not available in the US or for wifi only devices. If you have a 3G 8.9 and not in the US. Check it out

Or just go here to download directly.
great .... I'm going to try ......
not a lot of HD/tablet optimisation to speak of.
looks like the original app most of the time.
they could have done a far better job of it imho.
are there any forum app alternatives for tablets that actually make use of the screen space?

I would like to know about the alts you are asking about as well. However, it is still pretty speedy even though it closely resembles the origional app. Feels much quicker to me. Worth grabbing since its free.

is there a way to get this to work on one of the ics roms?
i made a backup on 3.2 and then tried to reinstall it on ics but im getting fcs all day long (was to be expected going from one version to another)
any other ideas how to get this working on ics?
Oh awesome, I was worried when moving from iPad to Galaxy Tab that there would be no Tapatalk HD, since all the other Android tablets I've seen running it are using a stretched out mobile version.

it worked on my 3.1 stock and 3.1, 3.2 overcome ROM's
i couldn't get it to work on my ICS one's
1) Shouldn't this thread be posted under Galaxy Tab 8.9 Themes and Apps?
2) Tapatalk HD is not compatible with ICS, but...
3) XDA Free is.
Learned my lesson: Read the posts properly. I'm Wi-Fi only. Bah!
i wonder why this keeps crashing on ics
Keeps crashing when i try to enter login info at forums, on ICS, so I'm using the normal version.

Get the free XDA app from Android Market. It's Tapatalk for XDA only and it works fine in ICS. There's a link in my previous post.

Hi all,
I purchased GoF2 a while ago from the market, and since i've upgraded to the Tab, i'd love to be able to play it in all 7"s of glory. However, it isn't listed in the market on the device and the web market declares my Galaxy Tab as not compatible. Is there any way to make it compatible and if it is already, retrieve the APK from the market?
You can try downloading "Spare Parts" from the Android market to force apps to load full screen... Be warned though that not all apps scale properly... Tried it on diner dash and it did not scale that well, it was better to play it on original resolution even though it did not fit the whole screen...
Might work on yours though...
Hope this helps...
It does run on the galaxy tab.
Period.
No matter what you do.

For one, its a tegra 2 game, 2nd its for ginger bread, but there is a modified version floating around that was modded for snapdragon gpus, so if you're on 2.3 you could try that version in conjunction with chainfire3d.
Just upgrade Tab to Android 2.3 and use Chainfire3D with NVidia plugin.

F-it, I will be honest....
Modded version doesnt work on Tab. Works on the G2
shhhhhhh
That's the question. I only know enough to copy the app from /system/apps and look for any associated files next to it in the list such as .odex. That didn't work for Swype and Polaris Office (pre-installed) or Tapatalk HD (downloaded with Samsung Apps). The last two are more important to me as I don't want to pay for them again. I can live with Android keyboard.
BTW, Swype installer will put Swype on the tablet, but I get constant dialogs telling me to contact Swype because it's not right for my screen resulotion.
If I can get them to work, I'd gladly spend some time testing the ICS ROMs out there.
Tks in advance.

did you try Titanium backup? Works for me.
Tks. I didn't think of that I'll give it a whirl.
i tried porting over the Tapatalk HD app that comes with samsungapps but was greeted with lots of FCs. i then tried the samsungapps so as to install Tapatalk natively on ics but it didn't even start.
honeycomb and ics are two different OS and i dont think its advised porting over apps. so far it never really worked out for me.
but go ahead and try it and let us know if it worked

I'd really be interested to know what apps you were able to migrate. I nandroided back to stock TW (is that a verb?) and installed Titanium Backup. What a headache! Then I backed up Swype, Tapatalk, Solaris Office and one user installed app (Logos). Back into Galaxian Soup ICS, only Logos worked. Swype crashed every 10 seconds until I uninstalled it. Solaris made it through the install wizard and crashed. Tapatalk showed promise after deleting all user data and cache and would actually show forums and threads, but crashed consistently whenever I tried loging in.

Yeah, I think that's the point, though I expected Tapatalk to work better, being a user-installed app.

not a solution for your other problems but there is a swype beta that runs fine on ICS!
beta.swype.com
just register and get it! it has more features and works better than swype that comes with the tab!
Check out my earlier post. I tried that and got constant dialogues telling me that my version of Swype was not right for my screen resolution and to contact Swype to fix it even though it was a fresh download/install. I noticed that the OEM install has addition graphics beside the keyboard, apparently to solve that problem.

One more thing. Why XDA App, based on Tapatalk, works fine in ICS but Tapatalk itself doesn't I have no idea.
Sent from my Galaxy Tab 8.9 using XDA App
Basically,
Sky Go came out today and it says that the Galaxy is is supported. But, when I try to load it up, it says your device is not supported and I take it that it's saying that because I've got AOKP ICS on there.
Would anyone know a way of fixing this?
Thankssss
Send them an email mentioning this

The resolution is fine after a minute or so.
Current problem appears to be that no other channel other than Sky news works, possibly because it is non encrypted.
Possible issue caused by rooted phones not being supported but that is a little unclear as people with unrooted phones are also experiencing the same issues, ie, the app is sticking at the buffering screen and shows no pictures.
Apart from that, its fantastic
I see there is a discussion going on here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22781731
They talk about apps that temporarily revoke root access to the phone to trick the Sky Go app into thinking you have a stock ROM. Sounds like too much effort for one app tbh, but I thought I'd share in case you hadn't seen it!
As I use GO Launcher on my Galaxy S 2, thought I would try the tablet version

cool will definately try this!!
sadly it aint really usable for me. im running the CM9 alpha and it seems like it doesn't recognize my tab as a tab. it thinks its a phone and tells me to get the phone version of go launcher for a better experience...bummer...
Tried this but adw still feels nicer...

So have had for a day so far and it is still in beta as some widgets don't seem to working. I was a bit hopeful as was so smooth. Am still with stock as am willing to wait till ICS so this new launcher may not be relevant soon anyway but thought might be worth highlighting to those on stock.
Quick question but is there a tablet version of ADW versus a regular phone version. Just had trouble positioning widgets.
I'he installed this one. Seems very good. Waiting for updates and more setting options.

I use Go Launcher HD on my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, but didn't like it as much on my 8.9. That was a few beta's ago though. Guess I'll give it another try.

I'm running the modded one now it feels great. I recommend it. Not that my recommendation means anything. It is nice having one that is meant for a tablet.
Give Apex a try
Cannot use the mouse wheel while using usb otg. On stock its working though. Will miss the theming though.

The download in the OP's post is 404
The download from the Play Store makes my Stock albeit rooted 8.9 unresponsive from the unlock screen, leaving me no option to reboot with a very loooooong press of the power button.

Requires ICS, does it not?
It seems Dolphin has disabled Flash. I tried to turn it on some time back and it gave some message about HTML5 and flash causing your browser to crash. I was just reminded of this a few minutes ago and wanted to update anyone who is interested. Anyway, I had side loaded Adobe flash some time back and it is still working on Mozilla Firefox. Not sure what other browsers support it except for Frost lite. Hopefully I posted this under the right topic because all of my posts always get moved, lol. I am not rooted because I like the way everything is currently and have no real need to root. So, I guess it seems dumb for me to post this seeing most on here are probably rooted? God bless!
As you can see it no longer allows you to turn it on.

This is old news I believe, I'm fairly certain Dolphin has disabled flash for months now.
Best bet for flash is the AOSP browser. At the same time, though, I feel that if a site still uses Flash, they don't deserve my clicks

Actually Firefox is the best bet. Doesn't require flashing, and works fine.
Puffin Browser works fine with sideloaded Flash 11 and Android 4.2.1
Boat browser mini work fine with flash and android 4.2.

The only thing is if you update it becomes bigger and bigger in storage usage. It already is on the "not-lite" side. I only use it for flash video. It's not my choice for browsing.

Interesting. I deleted Dolphin anyway. Never could see what all the hype was about. That fella who developed naked browser seems rather helpful. Wonder why the browser uses HTTP by default? By the way, I did ask him that question on his forum post. I am waiting for a reply. Thanks for the link!

I use Firefox for flash myself. I prefer the aosp browser but haven't rooted or anything so Firefox was the only way I could find to watch south park episodes on my tablet.
