Hey! New MIUI V4 it's just amazing but I wondered there are no working themes for it. The normal themes don't work and I don't know if it is a problem by the rom or the themes are not compatible.
Anyway, can somebody find working themes for miui v4 or know how to make them working?

i guess if you check the filenames, and change them if needed, they will surely work
the guys making the rom changed a bit on the file structure for v4
I thought that if I whould check the default theme mtz file and look up what are the changes, I can modify other themes to be like the default one :-?
But do ya know where is located the default MIUI theme?

only if you added some customized parts in it. the default theme is integrated in the framework.

i just see little in default.mtz of one rom for Nexus S
Take a look inside all file in system/app and "framework-res.apk" and "framework-miui-res.apk" and i think we have almost we need, except icon for setting for Statusbar icon, it just has "E","G","3G" and "H" .. icon and arrow icon for up & down is separate hope i help you

then you should decompile framework-res, framework-miui-res, settings, systemui and all the apps you want to theme and compare the filenames in drawable-hdpi mainly
I'm on miui v4 too
If someone can help to port theme i can test it

Then i applied a theme that was working on gb.
The only things not themed were the launcher, because they renamed that to miuihome, and the dialer. I don't know why the dialer/phone wasn't themed. Even it's icon wasn't themed.

Are you on Galnet's MIUI V4?
The 2.3.7 MIUI Themes aren't compatible with V4 versions, so I decided to make a quick Template for all you MIUI Themers out there.
Template will work for all miui versions and phones as long as it V4.
*Reason why they don't apply right is the package names are different. so It's trying to apply to packages that aren't there anymore...
My quick Template has the right package names.

No problem. To my knowledge zip files can still be accessed though the theme manager however, to change the zip to an mtz all you have to do is rename the file and replace the .zip with .mtz. Future releases will all be given in mtz format.

As of right now I am leaning towards a "donate" version of the theme that will include all icons. However, two things: I don't know how I am going to implement that and I am afraid XDA will boot me if I do.

That is the folder icon. I don't like to see what is in my folder because I only use the folders for my app drawer.

here are some stock apps (from zeus v1, thanks heuxx) with ICS icons....i use ZUES v1 with the ICS theme by gabwerkz (thanks). just replaced the stock icons with ICS ones to get a streamline look
btw, the mms, contacts, phone and browser are the ICS themed apps from the chinese ICS theme.
try them if you feel fit. check the screenshots.

Some of them yes. Some are not. If this is a framework stuff it absolutely will brick your phone. Why don't you use ICS theme for CM7 theme chooser??

I mean the launcher does that work on cm and so ted could you give me the Original one with the Original icons
no it will not work on cm7
this is just the LG home with modified icons. it requires the framework to run.
i made it to get a streamline look with zeus as i was using the ICS theme by gabwerkz. every app with ICS icon is stock LG app, along with the home.
hope i cleared any doubt.
*just a small app* i don't know if it is relevant to post it here, but there is an app from SE in the market called "appxplore". it's very small (<50kb) and shows the certificate, flags, si8gnatures,permissions, activities, source and data directory, backup agent(if any), debug info, etc. it's a handy tool for any1 who like wants to port an app which has framework and library dependencies.

Just wait for a few hours, I did not like the dialer theme, so I have made a new one. Isn't it foolish to talking about a theme without th theme itself, or even a preview! That's why, I will be back soon with my very first theme for MIUI (V4).

Dialer theme changed, themed the status bar, toggle settings, messaging app, file manager, new colorful icons in settings, new background in contact app, changed the orange glow to blue, and so on.....
And yes, this is simply a mtz. Copy and apply, that's it!
you sir are awesome if this is true. I will donate for your hard work as well! Keeping fingers crossed that it's a dark theme.

I unzipped, left alone tried everything. Doesn't show up in the theme manager.
This is awesome! Way to go.
The version of miui I'm using I had to place the mtz file in emmc/miui/theme.
So to say, the mtz themes are placed on the external SD card with the build I'm using.
Try creating data/system/themes in the root of you phone SD. See if that works.

I just extracted the .mtz from the zip and imported via Theme Manager.

I'm personally not using an MIUI V4 rom at the moment, due to the early beta-ness of our only MIUI build (for the Note) but I just wanted to say that this theme looks fantastic

Thanks! Here they are, lge-res.apk is part of the framework. This is from the Optimus L7, its the same LG UI 3.0 and it has the same resolution so its easier to port.

For now I advise to use only MMS and Contacts. Framework and systemUI are still with some bugs.
The background on settings should stay white, the original LGUI3.0 its white.

After trying every ROM that seemed promising, I came back to Emanon for its stability and performance.
I just don't like the stock interface that much. So I themed our Emanon in the ParanoidDarkness style.

-SMS app (you have to use Memo skin)
-In-call interface (I don't use the stock dialer so I didn't theme it)

1. flash emanon
2. keep the above theme in sd-card
3. boot into recovery
4. mount system
5. choose this zip and flash it
6. after flashing wipe cache
7. wipe dalvik cache
8. reboot and enjoy the theme..
Since it is a flashable zip, I thought it doesn't need additional guiding.
Wiping cache and dalvik-cache isn't necessary because android detects that the apk's are different at boot and reoptimizes them.

I've tried with gingersleek, i used your mms.apk modded but didn't worked.....it doesn't appaear...

No, it doesn't work. Emanon is stock odexed and has some framework modification. The Emanon mods are not compatible with other roms.

You need Apk Multi Tool to handle the apk file. You can find it here:
APK Multi Tool Download
After you set up the multi tool, place the Mms.apk in the place-apk-here-for-modding folder, run the Script.bat from the main folder and choose 9 to decompile the apk.
You will find the decompiled apk in the projects folder.
Make any changes you want then compile the apk by choosing 11.
PS: When you edit the .9.png files you have to be careful not to edit the black edges of the pictures.

I modded most of the pngs (message bubbles, backgrounds, headers etc.) and edited some of the colors and dimensions in values/colors and in layout/
I don't remember every xml I edited.
I remember modding:
compose_message_activity
conversation_list_item
conversation_list_screen

Yes, I know. This is the only bug I can't repair. The "black on black" occurs only in the power menu and very very rarely in some other menus of some apps. I don't know how to fix that.
