[Q] a question about sensation XL screen - HTC Sensation XL

Hi everybody;
Today something attracted my attention. When i use an application with the whole white colour, the bottom of the screen contrast is not like the middle of the screen or upper part of the screen.
I can see this when i use facebook. And also, the heat of those place(some colour like light yellow) is hot than the real whiter areas of the screen.
The Xl users, can you test this on your phones, simply open some program, check the contrast of the screen( bottom and middle part), and please check if the bottom is hot than the middle or upper.

[Q] display problem

Hi I have a small problem with my galaxy and I wonder if it is a common thing or is it a sporadic case. I recently took my galaxy in assistance for the replacement of the screen (between lcd and capacitive glass had a hair) Once again after a while 'I realized (I think that there is a problem from the beginning) that appeared on the display strange signs. Initially I thought it was a lcd problem then I tried to shift the LCD image and saw that signs remained fixed as if they were between display and glass. I brought the phone back in service but they said there were no defects. For sureness (they were very nice) they showed me another galaxy just out of the box and presented the same peculiarities. It seems to me (but I'm not sure) that the first galaxy that I had not had this feature.
If you want to help me try to manually set the display brightness to low and pull down the curtain of the notification bar, or choose a dark gray background and gimme an answer.
thank you
i attach a photo
anyone?
I saw that many people have downloaded the image.
thank you
Can you explain what is so peculiar about it ? I dont see anything wrong with that image . Is it the three orange color curved lines ?? (though that looks to me like a reflection of something).
Are you talking about the red haloing effect around the white text?
Apart from the orange claw 'reflection' in the top right there is nothing discernible about that image.
orange signs are camera lens reflection. I talk about grey zones of images. If you watch closely you notice that some grey pixel zones are different from other. With a kind of green blur.
thank you for your answers
Is this what you are concerning about?

Non-uniform intensity across screen at low-brightness settings?

Hi,
Has anyone notciced un-even brightness across the screen at low light levels (for darker colors)? I thought it was just the nature of these OLED screens, but I don't see this with Galaxy Phone with similar display type, so I'm wondering if I just have a defective unit with bad display.
To test it:
- Do this at night (when ambient light is fairly low).
- Lower brightness down to the lowest setting (turn off auto-brightness)
- Open Chrome browser, and close all tabs, so that you get a blank dark screen with just the "+" icon. This leaves a dark gray background, just enough to notice if there is any uneveness in brightness.
On my unit, I see about 3-4 inches of bands/streaks of darker areas at bottom half of the screen. If I rotate the tablet, the darker areas stay in their physical location (so these bands become vertical instead of horizontal), so I know it's not a software issue.
I have a couple of weeks left before I need to decide on whether to exchange the tab, so would appreciate if anyone can help me verify if this is normal thing with these screens.
Many thanks, Tony.

I have notice a similar thing, mostly on gray - dark gray backgrounds, and not necessarily at lowest brightness (low enough though). I wanted to check about it on a couple of devices on display at retail stores but it's hard to test there.

Hi tonyc1,
Having had 4 of these I can confirm that this unevenness is normal on the 9.7" screen but was not present on the 8" model.
I went through 4 to get one that was reasonably even, 2 of them were pretty awful to the point that the greyscale was all over the place.
The unit I settled on has a slightly darker band in the middle of the screen and a slight darkening at the very top.
I owned the original tab s 10.5 and have to say the screen on that was more even and detailed, I prefer the former factor and speed of this S2 but the screen is a step backwards.
Hope this info helps.
Cheers
Thanks for the notes and confirming this is a somewhat common issue. I guess I will live with it for now..

2 issues i have noticed so far. Display,Slow motion.

Yesterday i got a mi 8 6/128 and i found for now 2 issues till now the first one is that when i want to take slow motion video it flickers a red light like hell, the second one is the screen itself when holding the phone and looking at it straight in front the color of the screen seems a bit yellowish also the colors are a bit under saturated when i see the screen from a side view even from bottom or from any side the colors pops out and the white backround is white as it should be i think it has something to do with the front glass that covers the panel and i don't know if there is a way to fix that, i use cool color reproduction on settings but it still annoys me.

Yellow tint/shadow at the bottom of the screen

Hi everyone, it's been ten days since I've had this phone after a few years with an S6. The problem is that I see a yellow shadow at the bottom of the screen, which is observed no matter what screen setting you set. Is very annoying because just when I open something with white background the shadow is noticeable at first sight and if you rotate it back vertically, the yellow tone disappears and gives the white tone that it is supposed to have. But not only that, if it slightly tilts, the shadow appears again and the yellow tint extends towards the top of the screen.
Is this a normal "problem" of IPS LCDs or is it just my phone (defective screen diffuser)?
Thank you.

Yellow tint on top of the screen

While I was watching a video, I noticed a permanent yellow tint on top of my screen (where signal/time/wifi are located, in those spots). The yellow tint is permanent and it's more noticeable when the brightness is on max, especially on white screens), it doesn't go away nor it changes (for example on yellow tint, i can see some past 'time' and notifications). I am not sure how to explain it better. The phone never fell down, nor It has any damages. I have it for a year and I never had any issues.
Anyone with the same problem? I mean it's something terrible but it sometimes it's annoying.
I also wanna say, if I take a screenshot of my screen, and then check that screen on my PC for example, I don't see the yellow tint.
That's exactly how it looks: https://cdn57.androidauthority.net/...17/05/aa-imgur-galaxy-s8-burn-in-1200x675.jpg
Screen burn in, I imagine? Plus I can see my Google keyboard clearly on a fully blue screen. I wonder if the problem is just the screen or the frame underneath the screen as well. I guess it's not fixable unless you replace it...
