Modems

Could I request that someone make a sticky in the dev section with a collection of all the modems available for the tab. We have one in the captivate section and it's extremely useful.

I am looking into doing that. A collection of flashable zip modems in CWM recovery thanks to Alterbridge. In the process of collecting modems.

Awesome. I have a question. My tab refuses to get 3g or hsdpa. It does just fine it ottawa where I am from but doesn't in other places. I soul just chalk it up to the network but both of my captivates get 3g and hsdpa in the same area. In the process of trying as many modems as I can now.
Any explanations would be appreciated.

Do u by any chance know which modem came with your rogers tab. Am assuming its rogers galaxy tab canada right?

@Beny check the apn settings. If they are empty. Get them and put them in. Your carrier should have it.
Will soon post the thread just need to get permissions and collect more modems.

Didn't think to check that but after checking, all devices are on the same apn and still no change. Tab only picks up edge.
Would love to get my hands on whatever modem the rogers tab comes with.

That is a good idea, Rogers might bring a different result.

Us cellular mesmerize

Hey guys can I flash a us cellular modem and still get it to work with continuum 6? I know they are different networks, but us cellular has better signal in my area. I'm not so worried about 3g, but need the signal in my area.

Which SGT would you choose??

Ok so now I have 4 SGT's and I don't know which one to keep I have two of each of the following
Sch-I800 from verizon. With a sim and is a US spec sgt
Gt-p1000 unlocked with sim and is UK spec
Not sure what tab to keep for myself. I would guess the p1000 since its unlocked but maybe I'm wrong

I second GANJDROID. There's not much happening with the other varieties of tab at the moment... Too many people own the Euro model and not enough the other versions for developement to be started...

Keep the 1000: you get a complete experience - phone, 3g data, wifi, take it and use it anywhere in the world.

[Q] cant get 3g/edge signal on my tab. need help.

anyone from the phillipines? also on sun cellular network?
need help. i cant get 3g or edge signal on my tab. i did everything. i setup apn turn on packet data and even try reboot after setup but still cant get 3g or edge signal.
im running overcome kratos.
pls help me.

1, I assume you have good phone signal.maybe internet signal.weak.in your area?
2. Try another sim maybe smart or globe?

i tried using globe. 3g/edge works fine but with sun its not working. i think my apn is wrong but i alrwady tried every apn setting for sun that i found on google but still no signal. i doubt that it has something to do with no signal in my place becuase no matter where i am its the same still no signal.

Obviously if globe works then nothing to do with the tab ;-)

Hi! Have d same prob, i dont have 3g/gprs signal., i'm using globe, it happen when i flashed OC.KRATOS, i followed all the steps.. help plz..

Same here too with overcome kratos. I had signal until (I guess) yesterday, but now...only wi-fi. I don't know what happened. No new prog or anything else. I tried restart (twice), set the APN again, change SIM... :-( but nothing...

Confused

Ok I have a galaxy tab 7inch I purchased from tmobile but the forums confuse me. I don't know what roms I'm able to flash. I can't find much about the t849. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

It is exactly like p1000
But the modem radio is different.
It is the only one that allow user to get 3g on tmob network.
