No "Internet Call Settings" for LG Revolution / 2.3.4 Gingerbread? - LG Revolution

From the various source I've found online, including a video explaining how to set up a SIP account on Gingerbread's built-in SIP software, it seems that I should have an "Internet Call Settings" under Settings -> Call Settings. I don't.
FWIW, I'm using the GingerVolt 1.3 ROM (by mtmichaelson) and the Blitzkrieg kernel. I didn't check whether the pre-Blitzkrieg had this setting enabled under Call Settings or not (oops), so it may be the new kernel w/o SIP support? Or the GingerVolt ROM? Or did Verizon take the feature out of their Gingerbread 2.3.4 OTA update?
I'd ask in the GingerVolt/Blitzkrieg threads, but I'm a new user with less than 10 posts and can't post in development forums.

For those of you running Gingerbread on Revolution, do you have "Internet Call Settings" under Settings -> Call Settings?
Wondering if Verizon disabled this, GingerVolt disabled this, or if something went wrong in my setup.

I thought VoLTE was what allowed us to talk on the phone and surf/use data at the same time?? or am I completely nuts?

No, it is similar to the VoIP such as Vonage, Skype, etc. it is just over LTE lol. The talking and surfing is just he result of it having 2 radios, one LTE and one CDMA.

Well color me stupid for thinking otherwise....sheesh. Thanks for clarifying that MT.

I meant a VoIP / SIP stack that GB is supposed to have integrated. Google something like "how to voip gingerbread" to see what I mean.
So, I'm assuming none of you have "Internet call settings" under settings -> call settings?

This is what I'm talking about:

And no one has yet to answer my question... do you have an "Internet Call Settings" section under Settings -> Call Settings, on Gingerbread running on LG Revolution?

I think you will find your answer here.
I Recommend anyone interested in this topic and LTE education to not only read this particular page of the link, but to read all 7 pages. Tells a lot, and for those wondering about battery life... You might find something extremely surprising about 4gLTE signal, speeds, and whatnot, and why your 4GLTE phone uses more battery than a 3g.
One thing I wanted to note, is that it appears your phone (Yes, your LG Revolution, or most 4gLTE phones) signal indicator isn't giving you a 4g signal rating, but a 3g signal and that 4gLTE signal is actually likely lower than you think... Unless you have a new Galaxy Nexus, which actually shows 4g Signal... Read up on this entire article and see what I mean. Very informative.
http://www.extremetech.com/mobile/110711-what-is-lte/6
Not only explains your topic, but also many aspects of LTE service if you manage to get through the pages.
OP, Your post sparked interest in what you were looking for and it seems that it's likely the T-Mobile phones, of all carries, likely has the Internet Calling Settings you are referring to. So, looks like a carrier thing whether or not you have it on your phone.
EDIT: What MT said above in post just before this one, is right on target and basically said within the article (Link)

Surprisingly, the revolution is one of two LTE phones that shows 4g in the status bar... you can watch it under network status or whatever... scary the revo does something right that no other phone at its time did... unless that's the 3G dBm next to what says 4G even in the status...

The thing is, though, is the 4g under Network Status really a 4g signal? I ask because the signal beneath it is the 1x Signal. There is no indication of 3g.
Regardless, I was just noting what I read about the signal when on dual band phones, such as the LG Revo. If I cone across anything that tell about it more, I will post it.

Would this VoLTE also be comparable to T-Mobile's Wifi calling? I often work in areas where I get no signal but can get wifi signal. The business manager at my office has T-Mobile and is able to activate "wifi calling" which I'm assuming is just VoIP. I always wished and hoped Verizon would come out with wifi calling too so no matter what I could get/make calls.
Would the VoLTE be like Wi-Fi Calling(VoIP)?

I'm super new to all of this and have been doing a ton of reading and going through posts. I'm sure this was covered somewhere and I missed it. I did the same thing here, and I got the 3g back, but it won't give me 4g. Is that normal or did I miss something when I put the APN's back in?

It just doesn't have the 4G icon; speeds ought to be the same (since T-Mo "4G" is really a boosted 3G, so it uses the same towers).

It's not clear which model Motorola will ship as the 'Pure Edition', but either way they are locking it down and limiting it to lte 2/4/17, which is not the full spectrum of at&t, t-mobile bands and it lacks international bands. HD Voice = On T-Mo branded devices, it says HD when in a call. If you call someone else on T-Mo with a modern device, you should have a noticeably clearer conversation. HD voice is phenomenal. Voices are richer, etc.
VoLTE = Only will know if in an area with that coverage. If you get on a voice call and still have LTE, you are on VoLTE. Can Google your location to see if it is there. You could also check phone settings, see if there is an option for it.

Well, T-mo owns the Band 12 frequencies in the majority of the county I live in. It isn't active yet, but if I am buying a 2-year device, it had better support Band 12.
Seems like the XT1092 is the Sprint version that had all the Sprint & T-mobile LTE bands in preparation for a T-mobile/Sprint merger. Whether and where it shows up in the wild is anybody's guess.

[Q] Verizon Xlte and Verizon volte

Knowing that the nexus 6 include the xlte bands required on Verizon, I assume xlte works on the phone of of the box?
Also, does anyone have information about possibly baking in volte into this phone from looking at other Verizon variants that have volte?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
First one is sort of, need trimmed sim or nano, but it is hard to get the nano activated. I don't really consider this working out of the box
Second one, that is Verizon. We've heard different dates and had photos leaked. It will most likely come, but volte is something on Verizons side, not ours. So you can't do anything about that unless they end up supporting it.
Is the volte options Sim based or ROM/kernel based or both? Anyone know that?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Free mobile app
It is network based option. I'm judging based on what I've seen on my iPhone 6 Plus. The second verizon sent out an email stating they've enabled volte here, I had a new option upon network settings reset.
I have a nexus 6 on the business line and I've been very tempted to use that as a main device. Unfortunately, experience with it on verizon isn't as good as the iPhone. Voice + Data is a big one to me, it also doesn't seem to keep LTE as well in poor coverage areas. Also, verizon is odd... I either have 2 bars or 4 bars of LTE most places. With 2 bars I'm upwards of 60mbps and about 10 with 4. That switching happens most places I'm at. I'm guessing it is due to the bands that they use. On the nexus, anytime this switching happens I have just grey bars and service can be wonky.
Has anyone looked at there options on the Verizon website? I was able to add Advanced Calling 1.0 but I can't figure out how to turn it on on the phone. I rebooted but there are no options for it. I am stock rooted 5.0.1

For me it is listed as HD Voice on Verizon's Site. To verify on the site I go to Add Change Features --> Manage Your Products --> It should be listed there.
Though as of right now Verizon has not enabled it on their end for this phone. http://www.verizonwireless.com/landingpages/advanced-calling-devices/

3g on. Verizon

Do I have to keep my connection on global if I get to an area that my LTE drops off to get 3g? I had it set to LTE but got the roaming so I put it on global got 3g then got LTE when I got service back. Is this the normal process? I just got nexus 6 and wasn't sure if this is normal. Running cm12

Set it to Global if your outside of US territory LTE (Recommended) if you're within the US. Always remember to enable Airplane mode or Reboot when making the changes as a precaution.

Global and LTE are exactly the same if you are using a Verizon sim card. Global just allows you to use a GSM sim (typically for overseas travel).

Yes am on vzw can get 3g without enabling roaming on stock rom, on custom roms at least the ones I've tried roaming needs to be enabled to have phone switch between 4g and 3g. N6 has only two variants us and the rest of the world. The us version has a cdma radio don't know about the other. Also on verizon there is no voice and data at the same time... yet may have it in the future.

I have achieved 3G thus far, I've heard folks can get full 4G LTE, Maybe it's as simple as calling Verizon Tech support and they can assist me somehow. Was hoping I'd get some real help here on good 'ol reliable XDA first and foremost.
This phone isnt compatible with Verizon's 4G LTE. it does not possess the necessary band to achieve this.
You can set the phone to LTE only and get 4g data but no calls or text. Or you can go the regular way and have 3g data calls and text. Sadly not both
