[Q] Music Stuff - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
A couple of quick questions please.
First. Is there any lock screen for the Note that allows you to have music controls for jumping forward, backwards or stopping on it please? I have looked but have yet to find anything as of yet.
Second. Are there any headphone kits anyone is aware of that will allow me to plug in my existing hedaphones to it and again jump forward or back, stop or start music please?
Many thanks in advance.

the lock screen of galaxy note has the music controls, while playing the music from custom music player. i haven't checked the other music players so far.
i didn't understand your second question. are u asking about headphones with music controls on it? if so, i think some nokia headsets have that feature. i'll find out and let you know

Many thanks for your reply. Sorry I didn't explain myself very well. I realise you can control the music player but only if you don't put any codes on it which rather defeats the object of the screen. On previous phones I could control music even with the screen fully locked by pin code. Is there a lock app. that I can use to achieve that effect.
What I am after for the 2nd item is a hands free kit that can skip tracks in the music player etc. but allows me to use my own choice of headphones. Samsung do these but they do not allow you to replace their headphones, ear buds, with your own.
Many thanks in advance.

sorry for such late reply. i have been trying many lock screens with music controls as u have mentioned.but so far couldn't get any. i'll post as soon as i find one. please post if u find any.

***Request*** Turn off Automatic Music Player when connected via BT

I use my Atrix BlueTooth in my Pick Up for all calls. When I switch the stereo to BT Audio the Atrix automatically starts Music Player. Is there a way to shut this off? It is a pain in the butt when I want to watch HBOgo movies or listen to Pandora....I have to pause the Music Player because there is no way I know of to shut it down.

Ah you beat me to it
No problem, I see so much outrageous spelling and grammar on these forums. Don't try to correct someone if your post is going to look so atrocious.
that must be a 3rd party music player doing that. when BT audio connects to my phone it doesnt auto play (but I would like it to)
Stock Atrix music player. I wish we could trade problems. Hah

Had the same problem. Here's my fix:
Download AutoStarts from Market. Open the app and scroll down to "Media button pressed". Open up that option, and disable the Music app. Save, exit, reboot and you're done!
Downside is that AutoStarts costs $1.

Music player question

Hi. Looking to see if there's any mod that can make the music player have an alphabetical list at the side similar to the Galaxy s4s. Rather than scrolling through all the music to find the song you want. Thanks.

You're better off with a third party application, I can't even find one on the Play store though. I assume you mean a function similar to the Music app on iOS, where you can tap on the alphabet column to go to songs starting with that letter?
Zplayer i think :good:
you even listed your post as a question yet you post it into general...people these days.

music control

Im not sure if its a glitch with my Pebble, or a problem with the software in general. Using the stock music player, i am able to correctly use the controls; play/pause, next and previous track. however even though the Pebble is set to use PowerAmp for my music, the display only shows one song and it isnt the song thats currently playing. Nor does it change when i go to different tracks
Anyone else have this issue? any resolutions? I also wouldnt mind a recommendation for a music app to throw on here, the only ones that looked decent are paid
Your music app on your phone isn't broadcasting AVRCP, common issue.
To fix this and get a vastly superior music control watch app - get Music Boss for Pebble.

You don't need to pay money for silly music pebble apps. Go to the bluetooth settings in power amp and toggle metachange intent to ON. That is all.

I would hardly call the best App for Pebble, written by the most responsive and user focused Pebble developer, "silly".

Default Action/Music player when you plugin USB-C Headphones

Hi all,
I've just gotten this phone and what's driving me nuts is every time I plug in my headphones it tries to start the default music player which has only one track which is like a ringtone. Pressing any of the buttons on the headphones remote controls this player instead of SoundCloud or Spotify that I have playing.
Any way to fix this??
No one else having this problem? No one got any solution or method they are using for getting around this?

Can you not change this in Settings > Apps > Default Apps? Pick a different one for Music?
It's currently set to VLC yet it still pops up with the same default music app when I put my headphones in
One real big pain from this phone so far!
Same problem for me but not with headphones (not tried them) but when Bluetooth car stereo connects. Very annoying.

Go to "Settings > Apps & Notifikation > Apps > Music" and then "Draw over other Apps" = no and "Write Systems Settings" = no
That will deactivate the Autostart for Music. But I didn't find out to activate other Apps to autostart with the Headphones
KR Raffi
Thanks
A2DP volume can do it. Not old and ugly but will auto start whatever you want.

Unfortunately this issue is still there even after this step.
Seems impossible to get their default music app to not jump in and interrupt after plugging in headphones.

Exact same thing happens when I dont have Play Music open when my P20 connects to my car audio via Bluetooth. It's the ONLY gripe I have with this phone
From settings got to 'Apps & Notifications' - 'Default apps' - 'Music' and then select your music app. Worked for me.

Sorry just noticed someone has already suggested this. I use poweramp but playing music via bluetooth in the car or headphones always started the preinstalled music app. Changing the default settings fixed it for me.
A bit related: VLC app stopps playing sound over bluetooth after about 1 minute, which seems solved by setting "manual" under battery optimization. Unusual that an actively playing music app needs that...the standard music app does not need this.
But default music player doesn't list Pocket Casts, so I can't change it. I know it's not music but many problems are shared
