[ROM] 16/Nov r1 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC Wildfire with Online Kitchen

I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC Wildfire (this is the version based on the 1.37.405.1 release)! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
Remember that if you use this ROM, you do so entirely at your own risk!!
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. A MCR release is designed to feel as far as possible like a stock ROM, with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, you must have a custom recovery image installed (Clockwork Mod).
Features (these are the features for the currently posted prebake, please check the changelog for any pending changes that are in the kitchen)
Based on the 1.37.405.1 release
Pre-rooted with su and Superuser Permissions by ChainsDD
Insecure boot image (ro.secure=0)
Optimised with the MCR build process
All components updated to the latest versions
ROM is de-odexed
Please note that this is the first release, many more changes will be added now via the kitchen and periodically updated prebakes (as per normal MCR builds!)
Changelog
Please see 2 posts below this one for the changes in each release.
Installation
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the online kitchen! In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.
DOWNLOAD
Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
And finally...
Details on how to donate should you wish to do so are in download topic at MoDaCo.
Enjoy!

Changelog
16/Nov r1
Initial Release
This is the first release of the ROM - I will start dropping in the usual MCR features quickly going forward (via the kitchen first as usual, periodically building prebakes).
P
is there apps 2 sd?
You should add on option for my kernel in the kitchen
If I remove Sense and the HTC Lock screen can I use the default lockscreen AND use the alarm? (previously, from what I know, removing the HTC lockscreen rendered you unable to hit the snooze/cancel alarm buttons because they would not appear.)
I haven't tried the Kernel from HCDR.Jacob but it would be great if you could add an option for it. I think a lot of user would use it.
And maybe the option to replace the standard launcher by ADW Launcher or Launcherpro which are the most famous ones.
except this, it sound like a really good rom and I will try it the next days
If you remove the HTC lockscreen you end up with a bastardised standard lock screen that has the tabs and clock vertical instead of horizontal. Would be pro if there were some way around this. OpenFire and Cyanogen both have the stock lock screen without this bug.
Market seems not to show all the apps e.g. 2 results for ROM Manager instead of 10. The market fix on this board is only for froyo and buggars up the market if you try to install on MCR. Perhaps there is a way to make it work with 2.1
Other than this it was great to bake my own ROM to my own tastes and have it run nearly perfectly.

The only fix that I found was for HTC Hero, it would be cool if somebody would port it to Wildfire:http://geekfor.me/hero/fixes/vanilla-lockscreen/
Guys, download link seems to be broken (i cannot download it from modaco website too (i'm registered there)). Could someone put the file on a fileshare somewhere?
1 thing i dont like on this rom/froyo, on statusbar dont show 3g or 2g, its not modaco's fault, its googles or htc
bad rom = =

Anyway, this rom was a piece of ****, with absolutely 0 support from the dev.

[ROM/DEV] Unofficial CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC0 "GalaxyMini" Port

Note: This port is 100% built from source, heavily based on my "Galaxy5" device sources. The reason why I have decided to develop/release this ROM is that I prefer to use a vanilla CyanogenMod build (with no customized/extra apps included), and I noticed some issues with all existing builds (e.g. FM radio, audio device routing, native CyanogenMod USB tethering) which I have already fixed in my Galaxy 5 port.
I don't actually own this phone, but I will offer support in my free time while I still have the device in my possession, and sources are provided.
CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC0 "GalaxyMini" Port
Latest release: v1.2 [26 January 2012]
Latest Google Apps package: official: 20110828
Hey folks,
This is a port of Cyanogen 7.2.0-RC0 (based on Android Gingerbread 2.3.7) for the Samsung Galaxy Mini (GT-S5570) phone. The current port status is stable - most hardware is working correctly, but see post #2 for known issues.
Thanks to all who have contributed/shared code from the Galaxy 5 port, as well as coolya, tj_style and teamhacksung for the kernel patches and reference Tass device configuration.
Pre-requisites:
Your phone must have a Gingerbread bootloader installed (as it uses the 2.6.35 kernel & Gingerbread proprietary files).
Any version of ClockworkMod that supports EXT4 partitions. Unfortunately, the build supplied with ROM Manager doesn't seem to be compatible.
Recommended: ensure that you have a backup of your current ROM and user data.
Installation:
Note 1: you always need to re-install the Google Apps package after installing a full update package.
Reboot into ClockworkMod. You can do this via adb reboot recovery, or by choosing the Reboot -> Recovery menu if you are already using CyanogenMod.
If you are upgrading from a stock or custom ROM, you absolutely must perform a data wipe: Select wipe data/factory reset and confirm the operation. Note that you will lose all of your user data, so be sure that you have performed a backup. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
Choose the option install update from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard. You will see the two (or three) .zip files in the list.
You must install the two (or three, if you have a hotfix) files in this exact order:
The base package named update-cm-7.X-GalaxyMini-vY.Z-MADTEAM-signed.zip
[If exists] The latest hotfix package for the same base package version, named GalaxyMini-vX.Y-hotfixZ.zip
The Google Apps package, named gapps-gb-DATE-signed.zip
Once all packages are installed, you can now reboot.
Installation (hotfix update only):
Note 1: hotfixes are cumulative - this means that you only need to install the latest hotfix, because it contains all the fixes of previous hotfixes.
Note 2: you don't need to re-install the Google Apps package if you are only installing a hotfix update.
Note 3: only install hotfixes that match the full update package version (e.g. v1.5hotfix1 only matches release version v1.5).
Note 4: hotfixes do not require a data-wipe.
Download the latest hotfix package and transfer to the SD card.
Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
Choose install update from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard, select the hotfix and confirm installation.
Reboot.
Latest Changelog:
Note: "Data wipe?" only refers to when you upgrade from a previous version of my ROM - not anybody else's. For every other case, follow the guidelines of the Installation section above.
v1.2 [26 January 2012]
Data wipe? Only if you experience problems.
Updated CyanogenMod source.
Now includes ICS transition and rotation animations (merged officially into CM7.2).
Fix for rare issue where notification area items can get "stuck", causing notifications to malfunction.
Kernel: removed Samsung's drop_caches code in order to prevent periodic cache flushes that can reduce performance.
Wifi: disabled combo scan due to problems with reconnect from idle; tweaked TCP buffering to improve performance.
Bluetooth: improved configuration (enabled HFP support, increased max BT connections from 1 -> 3).
libaudio: updated code & removed proprietary liba2dp.so.
v1.1 [20 January 2012]
Hotfix 1 [20 January 2012]: Improve wifi connectivity (changed from ar6000 -> wext wpa_supplicant driver with combo scan enabled, enable ssid scanning in configuration to fix hidden networks); add missing FM Radio application; updated proprietary files with newer versions and added some missing files to fix keymaps.
Data wipe? Only if you experience problems.
Updated CyanogenMod source.
Kernel: fixed charge reboot issue (thanks to squadzone for tip).
Kernel: patched bma_accel_driver.c to enforce minimum poll_delay threshold. This fixes all Google Maps 6.x issues, and will probably also fix lag issues in applications that try to excessively poll sensor data.
v1.0 [15 January 2012]
Hotfix 2 [17 January 2012]: Framework: reduced LatinIME key height in landscape mode (.25in -> .23in). Kernel: tweak smartassV2 CPU scheduler to make better use of the Mini's available CPU frequencies; removed SCHED_HRTICK kernel tweak due to instability/random reboot issue; update CPU & AHB overclock code (CPU overclock up to 864Mhz, but 844Mhz seems to be the maximum stable frequency for my phone; AHB now overclocks at frequencies higher than 400Mhz instead of 480Mhz). Once again: overclock frequencies are not activated until you enable them manually, and you do so at your own risk.
Hotfix 1 [15 January 2012]: Framework: enable purging of unused assets by default. Kernel: enable "veno" TCP congestion protocol to improve wireless reception, configuration changes to help battery usage, several stability & performance patches (see github commits), enabled CPU overclock to 768Mhz with 50% AHB overclocking (thanks to kalltkaffe). Note: the kernel will always boot at the safe frequency of 604Mhz; you must manually enable overclocked frequencies in CyanogenMod - Performance -> CPU. I accept no responsibility for damage as a result of using overclocked frequencies!
Initial status: everything appears to be working correctly (but I may have overlooked some issues).
Based on latest CyanogenMod source (Android version 7.2-RC0)
Patched: wpa_supplicant_v6 ar6000 supplicant driver
Patched: swap volume control buttons at 90 degrees orientation
Patched: enable bcm2049 fm radio & better seek support
Kernel: based on teamhacksung's android_kernel_samsung_msm, with additional patches: BFQ IO scheduler (default), interactiveX, smartassV2 (default) cpu schedulers, fix for CyanogenMod native USB tethering, replaced ramzswap driver (for CMParts/compcache/rzscontrol ioctl compatibility).
Source Code:
Kernel: https://github.com/psyke83/android_kernel_samsung_msm
Device: https://github.com/psyke83/android_device_samsung_tass
Further Information
Not working / TODO:
SIM Toolkit (menus will display, but options/commands do not process properly when selected).
Battery drains: CyanogenMod doesn't report the battery status properly. Please read this post.
Not working / WONTFIX:
Kies. Don't expect Kies to support any custom ROMS.
Before you ask...
I have no interest or intention to further "mod" the ROM with any kind of hacks or customizations (like custom apps, themes, Swype, etc.). My only aim is to have a 100% stable port of CyanogenMod code. Any such requests will be ignored.
Reporting bugs
You must follow these instructions exactly, or I will ignore your requests. Provide the following information:
The version of the ROM you are using (to confirm that you have the latest release)
Report any customizations you have made to the ROM (themes, system apps, etc.)
Describe the problem clearly, including steps on how I can reproduce the issue.
Provide a logcat from your system taken just after the issue has occurred. To take a logcat, you enter this command from your PC: adb shell logcat -d >c:\logcat.txt. Copy and paste this log to pastebin.com, and provide the link.
If I ask you to re-test the issue after a data-wipe, do the following: reboot into ClockworkMod, perform a full backup, then data-wipe, reboot and retest the issue, giving a new log if necessary. You can then reboot into ClockworkMod and restore your data backup.
Reserved for future use...

I tested squadzone's RC4 build - it was nice, but I noticed some problems that I already fixed in my galaxy5 port (the hardware is very similar). I already mentioned a few of the bugs in the blue text of post #1. I also don't really like when Google apps or other third-party apps/customizations are bundled in a ROM - my CM7 build is as close to an official build as possible (no added apps, themes, modified effects).
My kernel is quite simple, based on teamhacksung's source with patches to fix some bugs related to USB tethering and just the best IO/CPU schedulers added. Overclocking is not added to my kernel, but I may add it later on, once I've had time to test overclock stability on this device.
If you don't care about "purity" and you like all the extras included with squadzone's ROM, feel free to continue using it . It's nice to have more choice, I think.

I like you bro..
And I'm pretty sure I will like your work also..
much much better ... more power.
Btw .. I like that word... "Purity" = "Cleanliness"
i`ve tested it , and hard to say..ITS AWESOME !!!
Pros
Density fit for our phone
clean UI
apps working great
no more scatter video
Cons
a bit laggy dude
can you make the kernel and make it more smooth ?? i really love your ROM
Could you upload screenshots? I really want to see how this turns out.
Thats not fair.
I loved cm7 rc4 rom from Squad. But as you mentioned there are still to many bugs. For example camera has not sometimes, it has always wrong oriantation. No radio, etc.
Therefore I went to emanoN v3. This rom is really good. Now emanoN has an update and cm7 comes back newly and clean programmed.
I will give it a try. Thanks for your time and support offering us this rom.

the best cm7 build until now
but i have i question: the lockscreen seems not working, i think it's turned off because i can wake up the phone only with home or power button, and i'm on home screen immediately without unlocking
i checked in cyano lockscreen settings and there is no lockscreen on/off option
however, on the one hand it's good too because in my pocket it's impossible that home or power button gets pressed
so it's a bug or feature?
and big thanks for this clean cm7 build, i appreciate your work
Actually i find this post the best...
Only ... the problem is...
can you return the density like tj_style density of cm7?
its hard to get over with... a change in density i mean.
looking forward on your next update!!!..
i love this !! were getting cm7 updates...

[ROM][PORT][MOD] The Dark CK MIUI - FB0 (Android 2.3.7)

Another my port mod MIUI dark theme. Separated thread from my previous MIUI 2.3.9 port rom because this rom supposed to be my last full MIUI Rom for this device and the next version should be only an OTA port update or upgrade patch, so the size to upload and download will be smaller than full rom.
I am not an android developer, my knowledge is very limited, I just tried to make my android phone more comfortable for me.
Features:
- mOCk Kernel v1.6.12, (boot image has been modded)
- Extended settings included
- Ads blocker hosts included
- Ring ICS Lockscreen ( Weather also work on lockscreen )
- 9s-Weather included
- Mi root File Explorer included
- 2 way call recorder, use CallRecorder app from skvalex or rVoix.apk from avs333
- ICS themed keyboard

- Centered clock at default
- etc...
Works:
- USB tether work great
- Native Wifi tether work great
- Haptic feedback
- Operator names has been fixed for Indonesian operators and some Indian operators
Any things not mentioned as working.
Not works:
- FM
- HDMI
Removed:
- MIUI talk
- MIUI status
Cpu clock is running at 1.3GHz max and 122MHz min at smartassV2 governor by default. But you can change them with SetCPU or other app.

You can see the features I've added and also things which working in this rom, there are some different with 2.3.9.
And for MIUIv4, I can't port it right now because no kernel support the camera yet. Camera is mandatory for my phone. Badly... I'm not kernel dev. So until now, I just play around with gb miui with more features works and fit enough with me.

need to clean my SD card first because it's too messy

in term of performance?
CK superb work as expected. Had the luxury of doing a full wipe install of this release. Could'nt ask for a better ROM.
Not sure why you have written last ROM !...hope you can continue your good work in the upcoming releases also.
Couple of points
You have mentioned that Carrier name has been corrected for Indonesian and some Indian carriers. I am still getting unknown. Please guide me how and where have you incorporated this so that I can manually add the Indian carriers and check
Guess you would have used the Miui DHD release for this port. I observed there was a fmradioserver in system\bin in the DHD rom. Any luck with the file (or they have always been around and we still need to figure out else where for our device )
Thanks once again and hope you will continue releasing a MIUI update atleast once a month.
cacingkalung,
from the screenshots alone I'm already hooked onto MIUI wanting to flash this ROM. currently I am on Maclite ROM with UC kernel, 2.6.32.9, do I need to flash to a stock or something before flashing?
I read the first post on step by step instructions but this is my first time flashing to MIUI so wanted to make sure I didn't screw up.. what would your steps be to flash this ROM, from a nandroid backup, full wipe, and then..?
Thanks in advance for the ROM and I hope to be using it soon! Good job!

For performance, actually I don't care about score as long as I can feel smooth and not laggy any time .
I've tried a little between mOCk and SD on 3D gaming, I can say mOCk work better then SD, with SD there is some lag while mOCk is smoother. But the phone is not too hot with SD. I use the same minimum and maximum cpu clock with the same governor for both.

It's not my last rom, it's should be my last FULL GB MIUI rom. The next release should be an OTA update for this version (not full rom but update package), and so on (hopefully ). So we still can taste updated release without download full package of rom. And yes, hopefully I can continue to upload the update .
I've include some Indian carriers to, but may be I got non updated list of them that's why I was needed the list of it. I took the list from a web, and may be your gsm carrier code not listed yet. I took it for Indian carriers code from http://www.gsm-security.net/gsm-operator-codes.shtml. if you have an updated list, please let me know. To add the list, you should decompile the framework-res.apk as I and FR discussed in FR thread, make change and recompile it.
For the radio, I've not continued yet.

Consider to backup all apps using titanium backup.
Here the steps to flash it from Maclite:
1. Get in to CWM
2. Install update zip file (this update zip rom)
3. wipe data
4. reboot ( the first boot will take longer )
5. Wait about a minutes after MIUI came up
6. reboot again ( this should be much faster than the first boot )
7. Welcome to the dark MIUI...!
If you have backup all apps using titanium backup, set the SuperUser to accept root ( in Superuser app, press menu and tick ON Root ). Than install titanium backup and do restore apps.

[ROM][WIFI FIXED] HatyonRom V1.1 for Samsung Galaxy Y pro duos: GT-B5512

RATIONALE
I am new to android but not to linux as i have used ubuntu for three years now. the ability to customize ubuntu to my like has been the main reason i have stayed with that OS. so when i purchased my first 'smart' phone in late June, i set out to customize my phone. i discovered the power of custom roms but to my dismay and that of other galaxy y pro duos users, there were no custom roms available (Technoduos and ChobitDigitalis roms are no longer in active development) so i set out to build my own rom. many have asked me to share my work and that is what i am doing today. it may not be as flamboyant and well-adorned as chobitsDigitalis and Technoduos roms but at least it is more functional than the stock samsung rom.
ROM FEATURES:
Pre-rooted using Chainfire supersu method
Fully deodexed
Zipaligned
busybox
init.d scripts support
bash support
14 Lidroid status bar toggles

sysrw/sysro support via terminal emulator
comes with android terminal emulator
operamini v7 in place of stock v5

init.d scripts including journaling, autozipalign on reboot etc
added icon packs

compatible with Compact kernel by Nitubhaskar
COMPACT KERNEL:
Note the kernel is developed by xda senior member Nitubhaskar who has given me the permission to add his kernel to the rom
the thread for his kernel is here
the kernel is going through continuous development and only links to kernel versions fully tested by me and other GT-5512 users will be added to the downloads section of this thread
if you use this kernel, make sure to thank the Nitubhaskar (hit the thanks botton) on the original kernel thread
FEEDBACK
Lest i forget, i would appreciate it if after downloading this rom or the screenings, you took a little of your time to share your opinions about the rom with us all so that improvements could be made to the rom. in this regard, please post a reply telling me what changes you'd like to see in the rom.

Installation instructions
Disclaimer:
you are installing this rom at your own risk. I am not responsible if you soft or hard brick your phone. i make know warranties - expressed or implied, regarding the use and safety of this rom. you are strongly advised to make a nandroid backup of you current rom before proceeding to install this rom.
Latest Stable Release HatyonRom v1.1
Before proceeding to install either the Rom or Compact kernel, make a nandroid backup using clockworkmod from here . this CWM recovery is developed by Millan.SIS so thank him on that thread.
This particular clockworkmod recovery is recommended as it backs up your current kernel (looking for source of this info) as part of nandroid backup
INSTALLING THE ROM
it is recommended that you use clockworkmod recovery to flash this rom
Copy the Rom to the root of your sdcard
Boot into Recovery by pressing volume up, menu and power bottons, release as soon as galaxy y pro duos logo appears
choose install update and flash clockworkmod recovery
Wipe data/factory reset (a MUST)
wipe cache partition (obligatory)
select advance option and wipe dalvic cache (optional but recommended)
unmount and mount the /data and /system partitions (you may format data and system partitions especially if flashing over ChobitDigitalis Rom)
reboot the phone and enter clockworkmod recovery again - credit to exelzor for this step which fixes system partition problems some people may have. Please thank him
choose install zip from from sdcard
select choose zip file option
Select HatyonRomV1.zip and confirm the selection
flash the rom and reboot
Starting for first time will be slow so wait and don't force stop.
Additional instructions:
once installation is complete and you are on your homescreen, type supersu and select the supersu program
when prompted to update the su binary, select continue (no internet required)
start file explorer (not the samsung app called myfiles!!)
hit the menu botton and browse down then enable the root explorer option
give it permanet root permissions when prompted by supersu
press back key and swipe your screen until you get to the screen having 'BROWSE', 'SDCARD' and 'FTP' at the top
beneath 'FTP' is a straight up-pointing arrow, tap on it to get the 'JUMPT TO' menu
scroll down to 'DATA' partion and select it
then select the app directory (folder)
once in app directory you will find operamini and android terminal app
select an app and press enter to install it
if prompted, open settings >> applications and enable installing software from unknown sources
instead connect to android market and install latest operamini and terminal emulator of your choice
FIXING TWO OPERA MINIS ISSUE
if you noticed you have two opera minis installed, uninstall the older version ie com.samsung.operamini-5.1.24639.apk (or a similar name) using titanium backup or link2sd
also remove this file /system/csc/comm_app/Operamini-5.1.24639.apk using root explorer or on terminal
1. type su + enter
2) type 'rm /system/csc/comm_app/Operamini-5.1.24639.apk' and hit enter
INSTALLING VER 1.1
Dowloadad the hatyon rom v1.1 update from the link on download section
place the zip file on root of your sdcard and reboot into recovery
enter clockworkmod recovery and choose to install zip from sdcard
select hatyon1.1.zip and confirm it
once install is complete, reboot your phone.
note it may take a little longer to boot for the first time
the same procedure applies to the other zip files on the download section of this thread
Please read post number 3 (next post) for info on how to fix wifi issue
INSTALLING THE KERNEL
after flashing rom, i recommend you use the phone for at least a minute before flashing kernel
to install the kernel, i recommend you follow the kernel thread link in my first post on this thread.
i will only give the names of the latest stable kernel versions in the download corner of this thread and maybe provide direct download links to the stable kernel versions (if that is ok with Nitubhaskar)

FAQS
Q: is the rom safe?
A: i'd like to say so, but i can't. i have tested it more than 20 times without problems but there is always the chance your phone will get bricked.
Q: will you continue development of the rom?
A: well, rom cooking is a demanding and tedious hobby. if there are many users, i will gladly dedicate my spare time to improving it based on user feed back. else, any modifications will just be for myself.
Q: i don't like go launcher, can you give me Touchwiz launcher (samsung default)?
A: Yes, if at least three people request it
Q: Are there any other launchers apart from go laucher?
A: yes, touchwiz for instance. we also have hololaucher, MIHome launcher- from popular MIUI rom and adw laucher.
Q: can you change this or that for me?
A: well, every rom chef knows that rom cooking is time consuming and one cannot always respond to individual queries. if many as for the same feature, i'd be glad to work on it. i will look into individual requests on the basis of their potential to benefit many others.
well, it doesn't hurt to hit thanks, does it?.

the captain will be upset when he saw this thread. you'd better ask him to move it to general section. any non-device specified development stuff should be placed on general section. that's why HCFroyd's rom stayed there.

sorry, i uploaded rom about 15hours ago. since the network is bad in my area, i opted to make sure the upload was successful before i post about my rom. i hadn't inserted the link earlier on but i edited the downloads section and inserted the link few minutes after posting.
Note: i experimented with kernels at the beginning of my cooking. i unpacked my stock kernel and rooted it using rom kitchen and added the boot.img to my rom. it worked alright but when you you restore clockworkmod nandroid backup this time, it will say restore is succesfful but you get boot loop which i believe are due to modified kernel since i could make as many CWM nandroid backup and restores as i wished.
with the modded kernel, only backups made after using the modded kernel worked.
if user response to the rom is positive, i will dedicate one of my reserved posts to your kernel. i will give a solution to how to overcome problem of not being able to restore old nandroid backups after flashing custom kernel. i will also describe how to add kernel to rom before flashing. so go on and develop your kernel. my screenshot will make it clear i am using your kernel!
the captain is friendly with us. it seems that he intentionally let them slipped. another mod mostly will move them directly on general section (lol)
anyway, since it against "the rule" IMO we should ask his opinion about it. personally I think these thread should be here but our captain might have different opinion about it. don't worry, our captain won't delete this thread or close it. you can peacefully discuss this matter with him and got the best resolution for all of us.
wowwwww finally a ROM!!! downloading it...tomorrow feedback!!

Just a word
I want to confirm to any B5512 user, arbayong rom + nitubhaskar kernel is the best available software update they can get.
Am using both now, and starting to love my phone (I think no one was happy with samsung soft!)
@ arbayong!
I prefer not to have flamboyant and well-adorned rom to account of stability and functionality!
Thanks to both members for making B5512 a value!
Hey guys,
We are trying to flash this ROM but isn't going so well.
We haven't tried flashing the kernel is this needed to make it boot?
After flashing it says flashing is succesfull but when booting it doesn 't go beyond the Samsung B5512 screen (not the boot animation)
Here is some info about the phone:
PDA:B5512XXLF1
PHONE:B5512XXLF1
CSC:B5512XXLF1
Kernel version 2.6.35.7 [email protected]#22
Hope you have some advice (we have followed the guide in the first posted thoroughly)
Thanks for making this great project happen (same gos for making the kernel, wich is allso a much appriciated. Especially the OC and governers and 4ext)

so if you have done according to instruction.. it should have worked.. so.. questions..
where did you get your cwm version? whats the file name of it?
you must do this..
Wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
if you did the dalvik cache clean.. try without doing it..
both data and system partition must be mounted.. just make sure of it in advanced mounting option.. it should show unmount /data unmount /system options..
then how much time did you wait after reboot.. its reecommended to wait atleast 10 mins.. to make sure you didnt abort the bootup process in a hurry..
and a tip: if it did got stuck.. you can use 3 combo buttons any time while using your device to get into recovery.. while booting or using phone or whenever stuck.. so no need to remove battery and all that.. just hold it until your device reboots and u see samsung logo then release..
for the kernel part.. it is not necessary to have that with this rom.. or any other rom in future for your device for that matter.. but.. by having that you can have more features that also goes with the rom.. you can test the new kernels i release in other thread.. but please read my posts before doing so.. because i want testers to have some knowledge of how to recover their device if it soft bricks.. usually it wont.. my odin related 3rd post or 4th one in my thread explains that..

I use it as my daily rom and it is on my phone almost stable. No reboots No freezes.
And not everybody knows about it.
sorry but this has nothing to do in dev forum. the funniest thing is that almost all steps are only advices. you wrote things on what to do, but not how to do. you didn't develop any thing.

Re: [ROM] [MOD] [GUIDE] CM10.1 Official + MOD + How to install
If the rom is stable, it should work without doing all this crap. And all of this us just known stuff, or your recommendations. No development of your own. This doesn't belong here. Noobys noob how to is enough.
Nice joke. Because it is a joke, is it?

hmmm......i kinda disagree, it is 'almost' stable, but with every version of the nighlties, i experience unstablility issues...
i think it's because of my kernel settings or the number of apps i've installed....
but then again, i'm using IZS with 90+ apps and with ZGK and i'm not experiencing any issues....yet.
......if you ask me, i'll wait for a stable release, if ever it becomes fully stable....
Just sayin'

guys, first of all you need not to install this rom at all.
I dont say that I have develop anything so what is your problem?
Everyone know what the word nightly means so I dont need to tell you that you can brick your rom...
I wrote almost stable, because I run it for 1 week now without reboot and force closes.
You can of course install only the Cm10.1 build, but I provide in this guide how to get the most out of it.
