TEXT+ Rom Compatibility - Motorola Droid Bionic

Anyone know anything thing about this? I know you can put it on any rom but im talking about the quality...
Im running Shift3r base with Hon3ysr3am tpak
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium

Maybe I was vague.. calling quality is terrible on rooted bionic >shift3r rom >hon3ysr3am tpak I don't know why quality sucks but I m thinking its the rom. Help?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium

it might be the rom or your phone. i am running eclipse 2.1 rc1 and it has great quality. if you made a backup of your phone stock, you can always make a backup of what you are on. then restore your stock nandroid backup and see if it is better.

D3 Clockwork Recovery on the way!

I just saw this! Follow @P3Droid on twitter for any updates! My guess by Friday Clockwork will be up!
Good afternoon everyone. According to a reliable source we have just been informed that the Motorola Droid 3 now has a fully functioning recovery. This is great news for those that want to have the flexibility that CWR brings to the Android line of devices. Currently we don't have the specifics regarding the method of installation but according to P3 more information will follow soon..
I know there are a lot of excited D3 owners and Devs out there hearing this. I also hope this means we'll see the X2 and the Bionic to Follow. Let the Backups and Flashing begin.

For real? That'd be epic and amazing!
Wow that's humongous!
does that mean people who update the leaked OTA on to their phone could potentially flash back to original stock?
Yummy.

I actually dont like some things the OTA has done and would rather have a bit of a blue tint than some other stuff.

Not really caring about roms. My main concern, right now, is if someone backs a backup of the bone stock pre OTA phone, with clockwork recovery, will i be able to install it on to my phone?
I think the best part of this so far is that nandroid is working (ie: backups can be made & flashed w/o the hassles of using RSDLite and waiting for SBFs). Great news! One step closer to Cyanogen.

I believe its possible, but not practicle or easy. You have to change a bunch of stuff to the backup and then I'm pretty sure you have issues with the esn and stuff, but I could be wrong. I remember it being discussed once, but that was many months ago.

There are still ways to get CM7 running on the Blur kernel. And overclock it with modular overclocking.
I hope to see this phone at 1.5 ghz someday. But what I really want is a stock themed debloated rom. Recovery means we're about have roms, so I can't wait!

Basically what it means is that you can install any rom made for the droid 3. Different "cooks/chefs" (people who cook or make roms) will make roms ranging from stock 2.3.4 (sans blur) to modified "improved" 2.3.4 stock droid rom to new versions that have leaked like the upcoming Ice-cream os and maybe even Jelly Bean.
Truly unicorns here. I remember when I had the D1 the battery life was barely better than what we have now. Liquid cooked up a rom that gave me a 2 day battery life with heavy use.
Not to mention hotstpotting and other cool things. I doubt getting past or fooling the Efuse is too difficult after the unlocked bootloader.
Look at how far development has come on the Milestone despite its locked bootloader; granted, it's been almost 2 years since that phone came out but it certainly is possible to squeeze way more performance out of these bad boys than is possible with their stock representation!
Can't wait to see what happens in the next few months!

Need help please

I'm currently running theory ROM with 893, I want to update to 902 can I do that
While using theory ROM? If not what am I supposed to be running to do so? Also I deleted some bloatware I heard this might be a problem is there a way to get them back "honestly I forgot which ones they where" I been reading alot of post but I can't find any good info
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I've never used a rom, but my guess is you'll need to return to stock like everyone else. pick your poison and read some more.
RSD Lite method
PathSaver method
You will need to install the 4ever root patch after root, before going up.
Thanks for the help I was about to just update while on theory haha..

porting liberty 2.0

can someone please port liberty from the D3 to the D4? i think all it needs is the LTE support and a change in the keyboard lighting code.
Is Liberty already available as a Safestrap ROM?
Sent from my DROID4 using XDA
its been available for the D3 since 2011 works in safestrap
Safestrap for d4?
Sent from my DROID4 using xda premium
i tried installing it today (D3 version of liberty) and safestrap installed it and the init d "speedy" hack fine, but it wouldnt boot.
I'd really like to see sense roms ported. I had core cell for my hd2 and loved it. Miss it lol
Sent from my DROID4 using xda premium
Did you make sure you were using a Safestrap compatible version? Remember a safestrap rom is different than a regular rom.
Sent from my DROID4 using XDA
i just took the D3 version of it that i was running on my d3 and flashed it. didnt boot though.
Can you give me a link to the thread where you downloaded the rom you are flashing?

If you read the first post, it explicity says "cwm only". It is not a safestrap rom. Also, liberty is based on the Droid 3 stock rom. If you want to port it, here are the first steps:
1. Get an updated Safestrap rom that incorporates the lates Motorola patch. (We will want the performance and battery boost it gives the d4)
2. DeOdex the ROM from step 1.
3. Prepare a sort of blank slate to start with, by ripping out everything not necessary.
At this point, we can start adding the Liberty customizations.

when i had the D3 i was flashing it with safestrap no problem,
lol i dont have the capability to port this over, i was hoping for someone else to try. or even make an AOSP/de blured GB rom out of the D4

I am in the process of doing this. I am currently trying to work with Hashcode to try to put together a Safestrap version of the D4 stock ROM with the latest OTA patch. I'm going to try to deodex and deblur it.
For now, have you checked out my Motoblur LT ROM?

Is it your motoblur LT deodexed? If so that is what I have been waiting for. I love gummy but would go full stock if I could change some or the icons safely. like the green battery icon. It just looks retarded with the blue 3g, 4g and wifi icons. If I knew how to deodex a rom I would attempt it myself, are there any instructions available for doing this ones self? Thanks for what you have done and are attempting.

Unfortunately, it is not yet deodexed. I just spent the last 3 hours trying to, and the resulting update.zip looks fine, but it won't boot. For now, though, it is very debloated and slightly deblured.

Are you sure you need deodex? I used ROM Toolbox to change battery icon on stock Razr ROM.

Rooting question

Is it possible to load any custom rom on my bell phone and just revert back if I needed to turn my phone in?
Sent from my XT860 using XDA
Also what is the most stable rom out there and does everything major in ics work?
Sent from my XT860 using XDA
There is the bell fastboot files available, so if needed you can just fastboot flash back to stock
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
okay, and if I dual boot ics and stock what does safemode do? like is it actually installed and use it as a daily driver? if i dual boot do my texts come in on ics and data works and everything? haha sorry for asll the questions. but i really hate screwing up my phone. i did that wih my atrix alot
That's the idea of safestrap. I think I've described it a dozen times so read up and download it URL="http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/how-to-safestrap/"]here[/URL].
TL;DR - you flash to a temporary /system and can go back to stock whenever.
EDIT: Read your last post. Safestrap allows you to flash a rom without touching your current system. Your flashed rom will become your DD as it's sort of a pain to switch over. The idea is to keep a stock rom intact so you can receive OTAs and such

Looking for new Rom.

I've been running holics 1.3 as my dd for a long time but I'm looking for something new. I heard the Pac Rom is nice. Anyone recommend anything better then go holics?
Thanks!
P.s. does PlayStation certified mean I can play psp games?

i'm running holics as well on my vivid and was also looking for a new one. I think i am going with the touchwiz rom made by xXSHaDoWsomethingXx based off of Pacman, you might want to take a look at that.

Noob questions
Hi,
I'm new here and I need to ask a couple of things. I really want to root the phone and work with it because the battery is killing me with its phenomenally short live.
So, the 2 questions. What rom would you recommend as worth to try? For what I have been reading Paranoid or PAC appears to be the one with almost no problems related to phone operability.
And the second question is where I can find a proper guide on how to root this phone? I am not new to rooting a phone have done that before with an HTC desire and a Galaxy S2 but I am having a hard time finding a proper guide to root the HTC vivid.
Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my noob questions.
There is a super guide in development

Been using Borked, awesome rom.
Borked 2.5 beta is a good choice. For being a beta it doesn't have very many bugs from what i've seen.
PAC, Paranoid Android, and cyanogen mod are all good. I'll give a link to a ton of ROMs that you can try.

I've tried almost every ROM. JB ROMs isn't to att friendly as the in call volume is super low. first on ma list is virtouis inquisition on battery life an performance and sound quality second is darkraider has aroma installer and like 7 kernels to choose from an a whole bunch of install options and if u wanna change any of the kernels are settings offered to u in the install just reflash zip an gives u option to change setting super clean an super easy to use also very good on battery life performance and sound in audio and in call. jb ROMs I like cm10 with sultan kernel developed by a super smart 15 year old xda developer he's the only one working on the volume fix as we speak as and yes fixed a whole bunch of jelly bean ROM problems and the thing that flips my head the most is he don't even own or have a vivid
i'm also running cm10 with sultan kernal. runs great, no issues. if you use it you cant get the most up to date version of gapp's, there's a slightly older version that works with the vivid/cm10 much better
Seriously gotta try borked 3.2, its amazing.
