[Q] Accidentally flashed stock ROM while rooted and S-OFF - HELP PLEASE! - HTC Incredible S

Hello, my name is Jaro.
I have a problem with my Inc S. I used to have stock 2.3.3 ROM, but yesterday I decided to s-off, put CWM and root my device. I tested Cyanogenmod 7, went good, but my main goal was to put in the stock update to 2.3.5 with sense 3.0. Unfortunatelly, I forgot to unroot my device or whatever else need, so after flashing it with RUU my phone could not boot, only green logo on white background and nothing else. Recovery had no result but red triangle with exclamation mark.
I've tried many ways of getting my phone back to shape, but all of them failed. After 4 hours of hopeless wandering, I ask for help.
How to bring back my IncS to life after flashing stock ROM? I think I need to bring it the stock recovery (dunno how to do it exactly, tried many options), then either S-ON and flash the ROM, or flash the ROM and S-ON.
I am forced to used old Symbian-esque Nokia, so please help!

Hi Jaro,
Did you see the FAQ at the top of the forum? 2nd question/answer should fix you up.

[q] nexus one not letting me get into recovery

a few weeks back i got an update from t-mobile i think it was 2.2.1. i was running a custom rom by evil, I think it was sense. it never fully installed as it came up with a black scrren with a exclamation mark and a little android guy. every time i go into recovery now, i get the same thing. this also converted the phone back to stock rom.
im sorry, but i am a newbie when it comes to flashing new recovery images. do you think this is what needs to be done? i had clockworkmod's on there before, had a buddy do it for me.. and he didnt explain to me how to fix install it lol. i do install roms etc.
any way i should go with this?
You guessed right, you need to reflash the recovery, and possibly re-root before that.
You can follow the guides in Wiki, found in my signature.
did it, having a problem installing roms now :| gonna post in that roms thread.

[Q] Very noob, question about reverting back to stock

Hey guys I just traded a guy my S2 for the HTC Vivid. I played with my wife's vivid and really like the stock OS (I believe she is running Gingerbread) with HTC sense. I was going to look into going to ICS with root (via this rom: [STOCK ROM] AT&T ICS, de-odexed, zip-aligned, rooted, bloated (For chefs or whoever) - [N]) I'd really LIKE to use that ROM, however, I have NO CLUE what I am doing. All of this is Japanese to me... I got my phone into hboot and seen "Factory Reset" does this literally mean take miui off (sorry, forgot to mention that before, the phone is already rooted, unlocked, etc.) and has miui on it (I guess I said that right?) - Honestly, this looks like iPhone... and I despise iPhone (my reason for using android) - I hate everything the iPhone offers (or lack thereof) and don't for one second want my android to LOOK like an iPhone lol. So basically does the factory reset take it back to stock and "unroot" ?
or if someone could very noobishly walk me through installing that aforementioned ROM with ICS and root, I'd be more than appreciative!
So I tried doing it (installing the rom I downloaded with rooted ICS bloated) via the clockworkmod recovery and it boots up to HTC splash screen and stops. Just stays there -.-
Any help?

if you go to the development section and look at the HTC Holiday superguide post at the top of the page? I believe all your questions will be answered. (opt. 6 Return to stock...locked bootloader, unrooted, etc) From there start at the beginning of the guide to do whatever you want.

I checked it out and it said phone must be stock and all. I am not stock, I want to go BACK to stock and I haven't a clue what to do. If there is a way I hook the phone to my PC and do it (seen something about doing it via command prompt?) I'd be grateful for any help. I wouldn't mind using the rooted ICS one that I found but if I can just go back to stock (with my wifi working again and where it'll charge when it's dead) I'll be fine.
You will need to relock the bootloader , then run the stock ruu file and it will be the stock ics .
Only thing is in hboot it will say relocked and if its s-off that will stay also.

[Q] HTC M7 Camera/Not working after flashing Kernal??

Hey
So I've Unlocked and rooted the device mainly to use SetCPU, and Root explorer.
I later came across a youtube video which makes the HTC Logo a capcitive button and did the flash of teaMseven-perfromance_v4 zip.
Here is where i'm sure my camera stopped working, I dont remember using the camera that entire day, and then the next day It just showed a black screen...I also did the Modaco toolkit thing, BUT I removed that completely and still the camera is not working..so i cancelled that out.
The only thing left to do is flash the Kernal back to the stock, which I think is the most logical thing to try first...but I dont know where to get one for Bell Canada..Seriously I would try any carriers kernal at this point.
If not, then does someone have a Stock Sense Rom for 4.1.2 I can run through Clockwork Mod??
I desperately need the camera cause I like nature and stuff..and like for example its storming outside with some beautiful lightning strikes..all that im missing (
PS. I've already tried factory wipe from recovery, but its no use as the HTC Logo still functions as a menu button on a fresh device..
Android 4.1.2
Htc Sense 5.0
Software number
1.29.666.17
Htc sdk api level 5.12
Kernal version
3.4.10-g3a4656b
[email protected] #21
SMP PREEMPT Bulletproof-m7-2.1(which says its for 4.1.2)
Baseband version
4A.14.3250.13_10.33.11 50.01L
Build number
1.29.666.17 CL164689 release-keys
Browser version
Webkit/534.30
I' have had Modaco toolkit installed but have removed it/the right way. First from clearing it in the installer then from flashing the disabler zip. file to remove framework.
I am also on the Stock rom that shipped with my phone from the Bell canada carrier..
Okay I officially ****ed up my device..
Like an idiot I went ahead and tried the ruu flash but didnt exactly flash A RUU FILE!!
What I though was a ruu file was actually an OTA for Bell mobility 1.29.666.17..as you can see I got confused cause the number matched my software!!
Now..Im with a Locked bootloader and stuck at the black HTC logo, if I reboot it says bootloader locked..and only displays ruu in a yellow font..when i connect my device its back at the black logo screen..FML!
and there is no bell RUU file..so is my phone now a 600$ dollar brick
EDIT: Okay so I ran all in one toolkit and brought life back to the little guy lol, but still it does not fix my main dilemma ..still no camera and stuck on some kernal thats messing with my camera app..i`m usually good with rooting after coming from an htc vision but seriously there is like nothing for Bell canada here..NO ruu file for 1.29.666.17, NO recovery, NO Stock kernal(bugsy malones site is down) I just dont know how to approach this problem..now if someone would explain exactly what i need to do, to get this phone back to how it came out the box,OR even just fix my camera app, or even what RUU I can use then there is money involved I have a paypal account.. Pm me or something please, and peace. and thanks.. my backup was lost after relocking bootloader..(

[Q] HTC One (64GB Dev Edtn) keeps crashing even after flashing new roms

To start off, I'll write down a history of my phone's problem. It had me scratching my head for over 1 week already and I still can't resolve it. I've been non-stop searching all over the net for solutions, and unfortunately it's still problematic.
Before the problems started, this is the state of my phone:
Stock HTC Rom 4.1.2 ver. 1.29.1540.3, rooted, custom recovery TWRP.
My phone initially hanged after receiving a text message. So I thought it just crashed and just needs a simple reboot. But unfortunately, after a reboot, it was just stuck at the "HTC quietly brilliant" splashscreen. But it could go into bootloader. So I went into recovery to restore from a backup point. But the restoring process failed, and worse, it wiped my current OS off.
So I went over the net to search for a copy of the stock HTC rom. then I found the specific RUU, from bugsylawson's, for my phone. And, at last I thought, the phone was back to normal. But unfortunately again, when I tried to re-download all my apps from google play store, after installing a few apps, my phone crashed again. the crash would reboot and enter into the OS but after a few seconds, it would hang again and reboot until it doesn't get into the OS anymore.
I went further research and studying about android terminologies to better understand the state and problem of my phone, and I came up with the idea to try to install a famous and stable custom Rom. I chose Android Revolution HD 13.3, which runs a custom 4.2.2 jelly bean. After successfully flashing the rom, I was so happy that everything went back to normalcy. So again I tried to reinstall the apps from play store. and everything worked fine. then after about approx. 18hrs, the problems started to show up again. My phone would hang while I was using it. And it would restart. sometimes it would just force close an app that i was using (in this case, I was using the "Internet" app and camera app). And after rebooting by itself a couple more times, it would get stuck in the "HTC quietly brilliant" splashscreen. again.
I tried several times to re-flash the custom Rom, and it would flash successfully everytime. And just to make sure i did the correct steps before flashing a new rom, I would like to enumerate what I did:
-wiped data, system, cache and dalvik cache partitions
-flashed custom rom via TWRP.
After everything I've tried. I'm starting to wonder if my phone has factory defects. I'm pointing to three parts of the hardware: processor, flash drive or cache. I'm wondering if the cache is a hardware or software based, and if it is a hardware, could it possibly be damaged physically and can't be repaired? How do I checkdisk the flash drive to make sure that i don't have bad sectors in it? How could i also try a diagnostic test of the processor to make sure that it is not faulty and does not overheat?
I'm new to android debugging. I would gladly take any logical solutions to help solve my problem. I'm pinning my hope on this forum before I finally contact HTC to claim a warranty or anything.
Hi can you download TeamViewer so that I can flash the latest 4.3 firmware on your device, after S-Offing

Hi Matt,
First of all, thanks for the very quick reply.
Uhn matt, I don't mean to annoy you with questions. But are there any other solutions without S-offing my device? And if possible and if it's not a hassle for you, may I ask what your possible might be? (Could you please enumerate it?)
I would greatly appreciate it if we could discuss the procedures first before actually trying to fix the issue.
You'll need to S-Off to flash the 4.3 firmware, and you want to be S-Off now as you can't use the exploit on the newer hboots. I will S-Off, flash 4.2.2 firmware, flash 4.3 firmware, then flash 4.3 Sense stock rom, then you can s-on if you want

I see. How is the new Hboot different from the old hboot? And if anything goes wrong, could I still go back to the old hboot?
To what firmware version is it going to be upgraded to? Will it have the same radio?
Just to clarify, we're CHANGING firmware version, not UPGRADING right? Is it because we're changing to different region's firmware so that i could just download an OTA update of newer stock roms? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Getting my Note 5's kernel back to stock, please help!

So, I'm a total newbie at android rooting but, I decided to take a shot at it a few months ago. I flashed the kernel of my Android 5.1 Note 5 to a rooted one, now, I'm about to give the phone back to T-Mobile, but I certainly want the root gone before I do that just for the sake of things going as smoothly as possible.
I didn't flash any custom roms or anything, its still the stock rom, just a rooted kernel. Would doing a simple phone reset through the normal settings put everything back to normal/unroot and get rid of that "Kernel is not seandroid, enforcing" message on boot? Or would it require just simply flashing a stock kernel back through Odin? Or something else? I really just need that damn message gone.
If need be, I have TWRP flashed as the recovery as well.
// NEVERMIND, problem solved.
how do you solved it?
I think Odin should do the trick.
