Hi,
I'm trying to install rom for my Sensation XL through the recovery but I'm geeting error when trying to mount the sdcard. I tried "wipre data/factory reset" and I got "Error mounting ?sdcard/.android_secure", skipping format.
Any idea how to solve it?
Thanks.
Here is how to fix it
I've added zip file, download puut in to ur phone memory and flash this file with CWM, this file make ur phone ready for custom rom and it will fix problem with sd card
Excuse me for the question, how do I flash it? Is it through the "fastboot flash" command?
Thank for the prompt reply.

Let me know is that work? If not I give u full guide how to prepare phone for custom rom.
The problem is that I cannot install zip file. Whenever I try to install any file through the CWM, I get the error as per attached.
I tried to reinstall the recovery and the boot files bit it is the same.
Try to change the cwm
dont install that chinese cwm, unzip and instal cwm i've just added, instal by fastboot!!!
Thanks. I'm going home, try it and let you know.
Thanks again
Hi.
I'm still getting the chinese recovery and still not able to install from zip file.
Find stock cwm
Try to instal stock recovery and after install cwm I give u before... Is ur bootloader unlocked?
I did that but still I cannot install zip file.
Ok, try this....
Just post screenshot of ur bootloader and I see what I can do....
Use this guide!
If u still have problem use this whole guide and start from begining, root again, install cwm gain and start with rom from this guide, if it works other roms will work also! So this is the guide:
Get ROOT on your Device
Get RECOVERY on your Device
Get BinDroid.zip on your Device
Reboot in RECOVERY, flash BinDroid_SensationXL_TotalWipe.zip
Reboot to Bootloader and Flash THIS BOOT.IMG | Commandline: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Flash BinDroid.zip
Reboot

well, im pretty new at this, this is the first time i root and flash something in my htc vivid, i was trying to install the de-sensed rom and i followed a guide on this forum for the htc vivid, now just before installing the rom, i was told to enter recovery mode and wipe this and that and then install, but before i could i wasnt able to enter recovery mode. Im in HBOOT just as before and when i click recovery a white htc logo appears and i am redirected to fastboot, i dont know what to do, if it helps when i enter bootloader it kinda looks for some images or something like that and doesnt find any, it did that before but i could access recovery

K first off u need to have the boot loader unlocked and then you need a custom recovery prog.
Then you van flash the boot IMG in flash boot cmd via pc then install the rest of the Rom on the ph in recovery , or to make life easy get the ph to s off then no pc is needed just flag the Rom ..
THANKS

Are you able to get into fastboot mode? if yes, you could go into ruu mode and flash your stock firmware, iirc the ruu zip only has to be on your computer.
anyway, this seems to be very odd tho... maybe you should wait for some expert to reply, because my knowlegde is kinda limited also if i remember correctly, there is one guy on this forum, that offers free unbrick support via chat...

Hi,
I hvae HTC ONE after trying to install custom rom and they didn't work (status 7) but now I can't load the system it automatically boot into recovery mode, also I can't factory rest in fastboot menu. plz help
Thread moved.
You have to download a custom rom like Viper or ARHD. Notice that you have to get the right recovery to flash diffrent roms. When using ARHD you have to use TRWP 2.6.3.3 recovery!
So make sure you are using the right recovery.
Some custom roms need to flash the boot.img via command prompt / terminal

what should i do?
Unlock the bootloadee again with a new unlock.bin
So you have to redo the process at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
You have to use the new unlock.bin that you will receive from htcdev

The problem is I updated Pixel Experience and after changing active slot on TWRP I now have the stock recovery
Hello
Same here after installing pixer experience when i try to go recovery , stock recovery come back , how to do , did i have to install twrp again or what?
fastboot --set-active=a
or b
this depends on version of fastboot but you can see all cmd by using "help"
alternatively just run :
fastboot boot recovery.img
***this will boot recovery without installing it but then you can install magisk or install a twrp recovery zip or you can change active slot in the reboot button or tab
**** obviously for this to work you need to put twrp in the fastboot / adb folder and rename it to recovery.img and also open cmd window there with aright click
Hello,
I attempted to root my Mi CC9 / 9 Lite and currently have a bootloop.
What I did:
-Flash TWRP from fastboot (success)
-Boot into TWRP (success)
-Wipe / Factory reset (success)
-Flashing Magisk v20 zip file (success)
-Then, reboot system sends me to TWRP again.
What I tried:
-The phone is not bricked. When I factory reset again from TWRP and boot to system, it boots up.
-Signing the boot image after flashing magisk using the zip file here (This did not work. Flashing the zip file returned a verification error)
Not quite sure how to root my phone at this point. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
You need the Enable encryption zip...it will boot it up.. boot loop is cause from MIUI trying to encrypted and failing.
Flash the zip in this thread... go to the fstab zip that will help you

What I do is this: I Boot in recovery and format data then I go to advance wipe and select data and then repair and select ext4 and swipe and then reboot recovery and flash the MIUI rom and then I reboot the recovery and mount system and vendor and flash the zip and then reboot and wait for it... you know it will boot up because after it boots up the bootanimation increases it's light before the actual booting in the system and the rest you can figure out... hope this helps you out.

I'll try that. Thanks a lot. Do you use the auto-decrypt (the one you linked) TWRP in this, or just regular TWRP. I am using just the pyxis TWRP.
Can anyone elaborate on what needs to be done? The previous responses did not explain how to ROOT the phone.
What I have just tried:
-flashed the TWRP img here
-did a wipe
-sent Magisk and the fstab zips to storage and flashed them (fstab first)
still gives bootloop to recovery. How to root this phone?
Thank you

Fstab zip is last because it's the encryption fix

I tried a combination of what you suggested and this guide and the phone booted up with root. However, opening the Magisk manager immediately says "your device needs additional setup" or something similar, and asks to flash a zip file. When I select flash, it says rebooting in 5 sec and stays in bootloop. Have you come across this?
use twrp by brigudav. It has also s built-in Magisk installer.
