Closed ICS thread - LG Optimus 2x

Hi all,
I would like to ask why this ICS thread is closed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385879
Is there any alpha ICS rom I could use on my Optimus 2x?

It's closed because every week there is a new Ics thread opened, and that's useless. There in one sticky thread in general o2x section and that's enough.
And the answer is no to second part of question.

Still no alpha daily used rom of ICS for Optimus 2x

Still no alpha daily used rom of ICS for Optimus 2x download...have to wait...

I think there can't be long before we see a stable daily-use ICS rom for o2x..At least CM9..

Pls dont open ICS threads!

Thought I'd start a new thread, since the other MIUI thread has such a long and confusing title.

So whats going on with MIUI China?
On miui-germany I read in the release thread that moviestart (the developer doing MIUI German) hasn't the right to release the rom. And MIUI China is giving this rights or taking them...
In my opinion the only guys who has the right to stop any releases of Cyanogen and Mods (in this example MIUI) Roms.
MIUI is based on CM and so why they think they can prohibit any releases?
For me this is one reason why I wont load the MIUI rom.. besides I like the plain CM7 more anyways

I strongly recommend you simply PM the creator of the other thread to update his Thread Title and opening post.
Having another thread about the very same ROM adds to the general confusion in this subforum and should be avoided.
I'd reckon as soon as a proper release is available, the dev himself will open a thread here, with a proper starting post with flashing instructions and more information.
If you insist on keeping the thread, I'd advise you to add more info to your starting post and properly [DEV] tag your thread title.
The way it is now, the thread doesn't do any good, because now, some information (fixes and such) will be spread over the two threads and will thus be harder to find.
I hope I didn't offend you.
Cheers

I do not insist on keeping this thread. And I am not offended, lol.
But I am not going to pm that guy.
Was just trying to help fellow noob flashmonkeys find this. Also, aren't most/all the fixes already integrated in the dev rom?

ICS ROM

Hi guys!
There are any ICS ROM for this phone?
If you would have read the pinned thread about ICS you would have known that for now there is no ICW Rom for OB : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366189
There are people working on it, but they haven't released anything since it's not stable enough to be actually usable (or there are things missing/not working).
Patience my friend, sooner or later we'll have an ICS Rom, but it takes time, it's not easy making a ROM.

ICS speculation happens in the thread linked above.

ICS 4.0.3 IML74K ROM for LG P970

Hi All,
I would like to know what happened to this thread discussion:
[ROM][Port] ICS 4.0.3 IML74K [Alpha 4a]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619583

It seems to be deleted or something, I just can't find it no matter how I search the forum.
If it's deleted, then what is the reason behind?
Are they being paid by LG to close the thread or stop the development?
Also, I can't hear anything from the DEVs who contributed the development of this amazing ROM. Come on guys where are you...
I hope you continue working on this ROM and shed light on our LG Optimus Black.
Cheers....
If you read ics discussion thread you'll find the answer.

Now... there are already 3 different threads that are talking about this issue. Why do you have to start a new one? Ffs, stop this senseless spam.

I have fully read the ICS discussion thread before posting this one.
I've checked that thread and I can't find any answers as to why it was closed or deleted.
Nor any word from the developers/contributors of the ROM.
The only thing I can see are your speculations and none from the developers themselves.
So what? There is no reason to start ANOTHER thread to ask the same thing all over again. If there has been no answer on that topic, there won't be any on this one, either.

[GUIDE] How to install P990 O2x custom ROMs in SU660 O2x - THREAD FOR NEW MEMBERS

How to install P990 custom roms on SU660.
8/26/12 Edit: This guide is now cross-posted and maintained at the Optimus 2x SU660 Android Development section. I removed the duplicate info here since that required me to update both pages with every edits and additions to the guide. Kindly go there for the full version of the guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850967 I'm keeping this thread here for the SU660 users who are new to the XDA and do not have enough posts to ask questions in the dev section yet.
For the SU660 users out there, I hope my guide can help give you the opportunity to test more ROMs that many awesome developers are developing here at XDA. Feel free to ask here if you need help, and I'll be glad to do so if I can!
Thanks for your guide!
But my device has hard key (home key), and how can I use Harsh Kernel?
Hehe nice, I remember this guide from here.
I think you should cross-post it in the Optimus 2x SU660 Android Development section, I will then ask a mod to sticky it because it is something that's asked a lot and really usefull information! :good:

You can install and use the Harsh kernel but yes indeed, you will sacrifice the use of the home key.
So that means it requires you to have a ROM that supports soft key navigation.
That is how my ParanoidAndroid and Harsh Kernel combination is set up. I also have successfully used owain94's Domination #80 and Harsh Kernel combination in the past. After the first boot, be sure to go to settings to turn on the soft key navigations as the first thing to do and you'll be good to go.

It's done! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30651969
Thanks tonyp for the great suggestion.
For those out there who do not have enough post over at the SU660 Dev section, feel free to write here.
FYI....
I updated the first post with a subsection that lists the p990 custom ROMs that have soft-key navigation, which would allow you to use p990 kernels on the su660 O2x phones.
If there are others that I'm not aware of that should be included, kindly reply and I'll be happy to update the post. Thanks!

[Q] Details on "cm-10.1-20130123-NIGHTLY-p990.zip"

Hi Guys,
CyanogenMod just updated the CM10 for P990.
I checked the previous version: cm-10.1-20130122-NIGHTLY-p990.zip
Problems:
1) Wi-Fi connection problem (Normal Carrier internet works fine)
2) Battery gets drains like hell.
3) Get hot fast.
Any info on the 23 one?
Thanks,
Deepak.
there are already a CM10.1 bug/user threads (in general section of Optimus 2x forum) so what's the point of making the new thread with the question/info that belongs there?
learn xda structure before you post something...
