Hi everyone, i've a rock band, and we would record us when playing . The problem is that the mic saturates because of the volume. Is it possible to decrease the mic gain (sensibility)?
Sorry for the bad English, and thanks for your help
not a real solution..
but u can try this trick..!
use tissue or spounge..cover your phone..and try..if still too loud..u can put some more tissue or spounge..
hope this help
And don't put in near the speaker
Better idea ... get some REAL recording equipment (microphone, mixer and recoding device) instead of recording your "demo tapes" on a cheapo phone ...
I'm not a musician, but even I possess a studio-grade mic plus mixer plus hard drive audio recorder.
Thanks for your answers, it was just for avoid to rent a handy recorder each time
Well, if you _need_ to record by using some cheap solution ...
I've never tried, but how about using a BlueTooth connected Mic (though you're most likely back to the very same problem that you can't control/balance the input volume)?
Or ... use a laptop with a external USB sound card (there are some good ones out there), a good microphone and some recording software (there are several free ones out there to be found - or consider using "Ubuntu Studio")?
I think that's the best shot if you want to keep it "cheap".
EDIT: If using a Laptop (or Netbook) would be a option to you:
- You may ditch the "USB sound card" and instead use a really good USB microphone instead.
- On another idea ... if a USB/Internal sound card (wouldn't really recommend using the rather lousy on-board audio codecs of Laptops/Netbooks/Motherboards) is a way to go ... use the line-out of your Amps to connect to the sound card for recording.
The advantage is that you can record in WAV/FLAC format and edit your recordings without losing quality as you only need to convert to MP3 once your post-edits are done.
I remember seing a zoom recorder it's pretty good most bands use it n it's cheap it costs like 20$

Hey all, I have been reading like crazy for months, have donated to the site and to some of the developers as well as pledging to the driver cause and doing my best to contact everyone from HTC to people in the press who have covered the issues as well as contacting people/organizations who haven't covered the issues yet.
I have searched and read everything I can about getting audio IN to the Kaiser and haven't seen much activity concerning the subject, so I thought it would be cool to create a thread that deals with this issue. I am going to use this thread to document my experiments. I believe this is the best way I can give back to the community aside from the financial support I show developers etc.
I am a pro musician & producer and want to use Meteor to record song ideas while I am traveling. I am looking to get line level signals into my HTC TYtN II and using the Meteor multi track recorder
http://www.4pockets.com/product_info.php?p=82
It would be very cool to use Meteor to write and record song ideas when I travel. It doesn't have to be super high quality audio, I just want to have a recording of my song ideas so I don't forget them. I have a little electronics device I plug my guitar in that makes it sound like a guitar amplifier. Think of it as a type of audio player for guitars that has an output like an ipod or whatever. I have a little drum machine and a synth keyboard and things like that (they all use line level signals). I do not want to use a microphone I want to use a line level signal from other devices.
Using this diagram
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_EMUConnector
.... I am looking to get an electronics technician to make me a custom plug that will let me get audio into the TyTN II. I suspect that it will be a mic level signal as opposed to a line level signal but I am not sure about this. I have a great deal of experience with music gear, and very little experience with hand held devices in terms of understanding the hardware.
I suspect that whatever audio does get into the Kaiser will be treated as a mic signal, even if a direct signal is used (unless sendign data via USB is possible). I am going to try and get the tech to make a couple of custom cables using HTC's proprietary ExtUSB connector, but if I cant get one made for ExtUSB, I will get cables made that will work using one or more of the the inputs on a 3 in 1 adapter as seen here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/3-in-1-USB-3-5m...ryZ15040QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I am assuming audio applications will be able to "see" the audio once it is sent via the connection.
Some things I am looking into:
1. What format the TyTN II will use for audio that is sent in to it through a custom cable?
2. What kind of quality will the audio will be? WHat kind of control will we have over that audio?
3. Will it be stereo capable or just mono? I am fairly certain that only mono audio is possible via the mic input part of the ExtUSB input.
4. I wonder if audio can be imported in real time via USB connection or if audio can only be imported via the pins that enable a mic for phone use?
Like I said, I will share what I find out and if anyone happens to have ideas or knowledge please reply in this thread.
There are other uses too, aside from using multi track audio applications. If I can get this to work (I am pretty sure I can) , how would you use it?If you have ideas, perhaps you can sHare ways we could take advantage of importing audio into the Kaiser.
Bump this, i have been thinking about this also, if it had 2 seperate headphone and mic plugs, the adaptors for say a guitar or bass would be basic, since the mic is mono and so are the insturments. If i had the tools for micro-miniature soldering, i'd be able to do it easily. but i dont, so if any1 wants to make a couple, i would purchase it in a heartbeat.
You can use meteor or any recorder on the handset, if you're in a quiet room the internal mic does record sound pretty good. if there was a way to do multi tracks at the same time(multiple leads) now that would be something.
Yep, big bump from me. MeTeor is fantastic, having a little recording studio anywhere is great. However, getting a line-in would just open up everything!

I can't seem to find a program which will route ALL audio to my mono bt earpiece. If there is such an app pls pst. If not, I'd like to help in the dev of such an app. Basicly, whenever the phone sees any audio bt device it will start routing all audio to that device. And it should have a built in audio mixer to control the different programs' volume levels separately.
Let me know what you think
Thanks.

Agreed, I ride a motorcycle, and music without the chords would be nice.

As a bike commuter this feature would be great. I typically listen to streams and podcasts where fidelity is not priority one. I use a cheap pair of corded headphones where I chop one ear bud off so that I can keep my left ear, traffic side, open. It would be sweet to have the ability to make/take calls on my commute and listen to audio as well. I know that there are BT earpieces that are a2dp, but should I really have to drop another 40 clams to get one, hells no this is android we get what we want right? That said I would develop a prog to do this but it will take me 6 mos as I have no background. So, to kind devs, myself and several others that I have seen scouring for this sol'n would gladly help test and pay for this functionality.
I have been looking also. Have not found anything to even mention. I used to have it on my old MinMo phone, but that's the ONLY damn thing I miss about it. Anyone have a recomendation.
theres a bunch of cheap A2DP headsets at dealextreme.com just do a search for a2dp
But I do mean cheap dont expect miracles for sound quality or battery life . . . but did I mention cheap?
We're not trying to solve our problems by purchasing MORE hardware, we're trying to make do with what we have and find new uses for old stuff. We want to send ALL the audio from the device to a mono NON a2dp earpiece. It can't honestly be that hard, Please devs. And don't forget your donate buttons.

This is not working for me, and I have 3.0. Doubt that 4.0 is working on the G1.
Hello!
Sorry to up this "old" topic, but I'm a biker too and i have a scala rider Q2 bluetooth device. This device does not support the bluetooth A2AP x-(
The phone calls trough bluetooth is ok but no music or GPS....
I found a solution : Bluetooth Audio Widget (i could not post the link but you can find it on the android market)
This Widget/application route all the sounds from your device to the bluethoot headphones!

I have been using "Super BT Mono Pro" on my T-Mobile G2. It is working better than a few of the other apps that I have tried. It is also available on the Market.
http://www.androidzoom.com/android_developer/sinwidget_itzo.html
How do you like that Q2? Does it work well on FM, or is its radio coverage spotty like the other units? I still think they have awesome audio when you are talking to someone. I gave up the Scala Rider FM for a Parrot SK4000.
I know its not possible with the volume keys on the side of the phone. But would it be possible bis some sort of headset-button clicking? If yes, with which kind of headset? (I use external Denon Headphones, so it would be nice if the headset would allow to switch headphones)
If theres no possibilty, I guess Im in need to get a new mobile.
The original headphones do a fantastic job, u just double click and voila, next song.
Mhm, I dislike the original Headphones as my Denon got a way better Quality. So I need some Device that gives me a button like that.

A soldering iron.
joking aside, I have not seen such a connector. However, the earplugs that came with my Lumia 920 are the best ones that I ever got with a phone. They are almost as good as my now-broken senheiser earplugs and better than my current (actually horrible) skullcandies.
Something like this (i cant post urls, so no www) amazon.co.uk/iLuv-Remote-Third-party-Headph-Adapter-VoiceOver/dp/B002RL9WDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365429955&sr=8-1&keywords=iEA15BLK[/url] in good quality would be great, but I only find poor quality stuff.
And also I have no clue if this would work. But I cant think of switching my Denon Headphones. I love them so much.
Hi,
i have read now a lot of threads to find a solution to raise the bitpool on my HTC One. but i didn't find the answer.
So the problem is, that I stream a lot of music over BT when im driving. The Audioquality on my previous devices (SGS 3, Apple iPhone 4S) where relay good. I had the same problem with an old HTC Desire. I think the bitpool is in my HTC One to low for "not hearable audio flaws".
I have currently the latest radio with the ARHD 10.2 runnning. Has anybody a solution, how i can easylie change the bitpool without the need to recompile some libs?
Thanks for your help,
Sascha
So noone has an idea?
Would it be possible to wirte a module for the xposed framework, to override the function that retrives the max bitpool size?
It would be great, when someone could help me?
Thanks in advance,
Sascha
I would be interested in this as well

I posted an explanation and a question in a different thread, but will repeat it here, maybe will help in the discussion/solution.
When I use my car stereo (with built in bluetooth) to place phone calls the people on the other side complain about the sound quality. Like there is some additional noise as well as the sound is distorted. As a side note, I didn't have this issue with iPhone 4 or Nexus 4.
When I switch to the phone speaker the sound improves dramatically.
Now, one friend suggested that it might be the noise canceling microphone. I am guessing, in car stereo mode I am using the microphones in my car and the phone is been used only to transmit cell data via bluetooth. When I switch to phone speaker, then I am using the microphones built in the phone, and the noise canceling function works fine.
My 2 cents, what about if the noise canceling microphone doesn't turn off in car stereo mode, which I think it should do. This would mean that there will be interference between my car microphones and the noise canceling microphone in the phone.
Is there a way to check it with further tests?
Thanks.

This thread seems at first glance like it might offer a solutuion... but as one of the two files it suggests replacing doesn't even exist on my HTC One, I'm not very confident it'll work:

I dont think we find a solution for this problem at all. Ive changed now from sense based Rom to GPE 4.3 Rom.
The quality got a bit better now but i dont think its the same quality then on my prev. Iphones / sgs3.
In my car i hear now music from a USB stick, the quality is way better then any Bluetooth device i heard so far. For everyone which could use usb, i think this is a nice alternative. 20 € for a 32 GB stick + 3€ for an USB OTG Adapter. And you can copy your music from the one directly in the car on your USB stick.

Sadly that's not an option for me. The reason I use Bluetooth is to stream phone audio to my hearing aids (using a device called a Siemens MiniTek); if I had a free choice of Bluetooth devices I might pick one that can use apt-X as well as SBC for a codec - but I don't have a choice.
No one knows of a way to change the SBC bitpool value, then...?
Hi everyone!
From few week I've been tried to change my Samsung Galaxy Ace to dictaphone with external micorphone. My search results was quite logical: I need TRRS cable, and it should work fine. So I bought one and tries a few different mics that I have, but in every case it didn't works... I tries a lot of apps that should give me good result (in theory) but nothing... Then I had an idea to try record a video when my external mic is plugged in. And... it works! But... I want record just audio in some app to wav or even mp3 to replace my crappy audio from camcorder in editing process... Does anyone could help me?
PS: I have the same problem with my Lenovo S6000 tablet.
