You must realise that the SGN's camera isn't an SLR one, it can not give you an SLR quality photo. This is a known fact with all camera phones.

does custom rom affect the image camera result?because when i compare stock rom->camera->autofocus result better than root->custom rom->camera->autofocus. it is true?or just my imagination

The camera quality is not good even in day light, forget about night and more over the camera has a problem, after some time it gets some hitch and you need to go to service center, so know all these points before hand and then plan to purchase it.

realy ?
all models have this problem ? ie i need to go to service center.
and i checked video from igyaan.in about video quality and camera samples, and see its good, not betterm but good for normal photoshoot.
.
plz, can u upload just one sample pic ?
ok, finaly got this
http://www.pinoytechblog.com/archives/cherry-mobile-magnum-hd-review
this have bunch of pics taken from magnum hd which is same as mi410.
so guys, now just confirm me that magnum hd and mi410 are same phone ?
means i get same camera quality as magnum hd ?
I m satisfied with pics posted in above review.
just confirm me, also issue posted paarkhi bro, is happening every mi410 ?
i m planning to nuy from saholic at 13k.
bro i can say this 5mp is not good..
bad noise reductions + bad contrast capturing..
also the pics taken atm night or day looked washed out with colours on the poor display.. as its not bright & crisp as my sgs2 superamold..
but the cam is ok with third party cam apps like camera 360 ultimate which i use for daily myself..
& results..
daylight-awesome with hdr light & enchancment modes.. you can try others too..( daylight & heavy light results are awesome )
night or places with bad light - there you can use night mode ( but if you are'nt still satisfied this is much a smartphone can do.. ) i iknow these results with modes in night or bad light are not good at best but ok.. you can compress these pics to smaller size ( reso. ) to get more sharpness & clearity it pc easily ( use microsoft picture manager or i forgot the name¿ )
& the thing about cam hardware failure after some days is only prob. with stock or stock build based roms. actually its a bug in our stock builds which make some bad log files to conflict hardware, this can easily be fixed by wiping user data & cache by cwm.. ( which is not difficult )
the cust. care people do the same trick & then install their buggy stock rom to fix.. it
no cam failiure prob. with miui or cm7, once you reverted accuratley
as you seen the samples from above posts that they are not bad either.. i will not force you but still you can't everything in 13k & that also in a smartphone..
one more prob. is dust under screen which you might face..
but this best at 13k again.. don't buy defy as it got poor gpu & support for games.. although defy cam. is good.
best cam. yet in all samartphones is xperia ray 8mp at 18k which can beat iphone 4s & sgs2 ... or you should go for that if you take cam. as a criteria only..
good luck
Realy thanx nitindeck.
what to u actualy mean by dust under screen ?
means dust from external air will go inside of phone ?
this means bad manufacturing, ryt ?
and how to avoid this ?
if dust go in, how clean it ?
can we remove body and clean out dust ?
I m ordering today.

hi
just to add on the same.If u want this phone for the Camera features then dont look at it the cam is not great.Frankly speaking i dont care about the cam as i have a good camera and i use it for all my req photography and my personal feeling is the cam is just a feature and this is made more for the phone function than the cam function
so once again if camera is ur main thing then look at other Brands like HTC samsung , Sony ETC... and these phone with the same features as this phone may be better would cost double the cost of this phone to my knowledge
I m getting Xperia Neo 8mp at 17k, should i go with that ?
and also please confirm that the sure dust problem will happen..

poor camera quallity

hello people!
when i try to take picture in low light condition,my picture got very bad quallity
even before im taking the picture i see lots of but lots of grain in the screen (only low condition)
so my picture looks like hell, and when i checked youtube i saw many great pics in night ,so my phone is not good maybe?
or you have it to?
cause in regular condition it looks great!!
im on eXistenZ rom with doom kernel.
I think it's down to how Sony compress the photos after they are taken I might be wrong:silly:
It's something that hopefully will be fixed it upcoming firmware updates as let's be honest the camera hardware wise should be amazing

I'd say take a look at the numerous topics about pictures made from this device, then you'll know more.
Coming from a Nexus 4 I find the camera quality to be fantastic. I haven't taken a single bad photo yet, in all lighting conditions, mostly using iauto

unhappy with camera

Hey new family!
Just brought my new z1 home, updated firmware and still Im totally unhappy with its camera. pictures are super blurry in auto and manual mode. Tested indoor with much daylight in the room... schould be more than plenty. My old galaxy s3 made way better pictures. Any suggestions? is it possible that i have a faulty model??
Greetz
what mode are you shooting in?
this seems to make most difference.
there are threads about the camera already so in a nutshell - 8mp is better than 20mp for sharpness/clarity
scene - landscape or night if light is low
14.1.G.2.257 perfect image quality!
I think you should share some of your pics + the modes selected to us so that our recommendation would be more accurate
I like Manual + 20mp + ISO 100 or 50 + EV 1 or 2 notches up depending on the light... I also prefer using the dedicated shutter button so that your hand is more stable... for moving objects (or very shaky hands) higher the ISO the less the blurriness but more noise...
8mp manual mode is the best and there's definitely some trouble with the autofokus.

auto focus problem is found in all sony phones.. from xperia S to Z1...i m a long sony user...actually sony software is a mess
I have not a problem with my camera. auto focus and flash does not work when its automatic mode in the night. Just flash and picture is dark
Right?

then either my camera is broken or i am doing something wrong i tried both manual and auto in a well lit room
zooming in on anything makes a noisy mess
This was just a quick snap using superior auto, which isn't the greatest mode but that is absolutely fine to me.
I'd get it looked at

what are the lighting conditions in this shot? how far away was the can from the camera?
I can see the noise in the background. Also, the MON and ER are a but blurry. Other that that, the picture is ok - nothing spectacular.
I can't wait to try the camera out when I get the phone.
Mid morning with a window behind me, can was about 8-12 inches away.
Focusing on the can would make the background a little blurred

Looks fine for those conditions albeit a bit grainy. Nothing to cry over really. I just got mine today but unfortunately the c6906 doesn't have the latest firmware yet. I'll do some test shots after I get off work to see what the the fuss is about.

[Q] How to get this camera to make good pictures

Howdy! I've got this phone for 3 days now. One of the main reasons to choose this one, is the camera. It should give stunning pictures, right? Wrong.
I can't for the love of me get even one good picture. Each and every one is either out of focus, distorted in some way, or it looks like there's not enough light (even when the picture is taken outside).
I started out with the automatic mode. What I dislike there, is that it never chooses the max. resolution. Manual mode, I can't get it to make good pictures either; though that might be because of lack of expertise.
Is my device broken? Am I doing something wrong? Help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. I'm currently on the newest firmware. I'm running RomAur v3.2. I had the same problem on a different modified stock ROM of the latest firmware build.
I only know for good light condition, you set the ISO to as low as possible and 20mp manual and need a pair of steady hands. I still havent figure out low light condition, some ppl suggest twilight mode.
1. manual mode. the automode is bull****
2. fullsize. you can resize after the shooting^^
3. let the iso as low as possible. remember that the image becomes a little brighter than in the preview. use flash if its dark
i dont have any problems with the camera, even if taking pictures of moving obejcts in dark conditions. just stop shaking your hands and geht the iso lower^^

This is with bad lighting (Sun was shining at the cam), a view from my window. Is this the quality I should expect from this phonecam?
Inside, it's never sharp. There simply seems to be too little light to make sharp pictures. The flash does nearly nothing. The low ISO setting makes it lag very much as well, reducing the screen fps to 3 or something like that. I guess it's difficult for the device to keep up.

Those do look better. Do I understand correctly that I should take a course in photography and buy a an app to get decent pictures out of this thing? I've heard about FV-5 before. Is it that much better than the stock camera app?

there are two apps much better than FV-5
1) Pro Capture: More details. Sharper pictures. aiding grid to get great shots. (but you can't manage ISO level and the max resolution is 8MPX)
2) Camera Zoom FX: Faster focus. More MPX option (18MPX resolution is available)

Then my device is broken. I tested a few shots next to a Galaxy Note 3, and it made much (MUCH) better pictures than my Z1. Tried all kinds of settings, no way to make it right. So mine must be ****. I'm getting it exchanged because of a lazy pixel anyway, but I'm really disappointed in Sony here. I thought they made quality products. :x

Mmm, can you explain me better auto mode? Do you selected a scene? Do you select single focus point or multi point?
Metering? (Can you explain this)
HDR or image stabilizer?
Do you use the hardware button to take pictures or the software one? I noticed that using the hw one after you press focus and then more to shoot produce a little movement that can make your photo bad. Am I the only one that find the camera button too hard?
Thanks a lot!!!!

[Q] Camera quality is ...bad

I' got camera problem. In my opinion quality of photos is bad. Photo is ragged with many many noise. I try change setting (12Mpix,9mpix, normal mode, better automatic) and still the same. I got stock rom 10.3.1.A.2.67
Maybe downgrade to 4.1.2 give some effect??
Example photo

its horrible quality. On outside is better but still not good.

I agree with you. The camera quality is a shame (against other competitors). Specialy in low light and on every JB version. The pictures look grainy and washed.
Some one will say (for sure) "it's just a phone" and I will reply : NO... not at this price.
Even my Good old (3 years old) LG Optimus 2x gave me better pictures (sharp, colorfull,...) in low light at 8Mpx.
I'm still looking forward to check if it has something to do with the fact I unlocked my BL.

My BL is locked and I too don't approve of the image quality, so it's probably something else. I'm thinking that it could be related to 4.3? I can't remember the pictures being this bad before. I think they have too much light and noise.
I dont thing so its unlock BL. I have lock BL and that quality of camera. I'll try downgrade to 4.1.2, maybe there shuld be better.
ps.
Outdoor picture is grainy ... with a lot of noise
