[Q] Waking up the screen Without pushing a button - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good evening everyone,
There used to be an application on HTC HD2, Which was allowing screen to wake up when passing by the finger over the presence detector.
Has anyone heard about such a possibility on our GN please?
Or is there a possibility to do it's just moving the phone In a certain way that we would be able to learn him?
Thank you in advance.

hi, i have tried Tasker . it detects the proximite sensor, but it tells me it is not able to turn on the screen on galaxy note.

thank you very much for trying.
any other idea from anyone is welcome.
thanks

Ok, here is the solution, the application proximityscreenoff is making the job perfectly .
Hope this will help some people

Dude! thts an awsome app!! i mean its like totally sci-fi! gud find bro!
only regret is tht in order to unlock it we have to keep the sensor covered for atleast 1 sec, sounds short but in reality it seems a bit long, only if it cud unlock just like it locks with a swipe!

What about "Tap Tap App"? If I remember well, by just tapping (or swiping) twice, the screen got unlocked... tested once for y pal, worked fine in my opinion...
Cheers,
I

I tried tap tap off and it works really nice. Do you think that leaving the proximity sensor on for all the time could cause some issues?

All I can think of is a higher battery drain and maybe some wakelocks or in the worst case it's unable to enter deep sleep at all.

Yes thanks this app is really great too.

phone vibrate when typing

Hi. Ive been searching for an app that can/will vibrate when your writing a msg. Does anyone know about that? Ive been searching and searching and didnt find anything about it. I miss it from my lg ku990. It would be really cool, if my diamond could do the same. I hope someone will help me
here ya go.. put it in the startup folder if you want to to run always
this seems to be a recurring topic, think its a feature alot of people would like, but many of the apps that are currently available have too strong vibration.
Something like the vall hiting the wall in teeter would be more appropriate feedback for a key press
yes, I would also love a tiny feedback like in teeter.... this one is also too strong for me.. I had to stop using it after an hour because it drained too much battery... and its also to loud

I guess a lot of people would love to see that. It would help to type SMS blindly. I hope some dev goes for it
It could also be really cool, if we could adjust the vibrations in 3 or 5 levels.
So everybody can adjust it to what they like.
I second this!

Second that notion - would add a new level of depth to the phone if we had an app to customize vibrating feedback for certain operations - and if they felt like the ones in teeter then WOW!
So isn't there anyone here who can do this?
I will donate if someone makes an adjustable vibra app! I want it badly!

You'll be the man of the month, nah lets say year, if you can make this to all of us I dont know how hard it is to make. The only problem i see, is how to adjust the vibrations. Its a tricky one.
the frequency or wave of vibration will be very important.
Any news? I would love this program...

[Q] What happen to the notification...

Somehow the notification thingy (red dot with number of unread emails) is not showing anymore. This is for the built-in email client that came with the Gnote.
I have a feeling its because I have ADW EX as my launcher now. Just want some confirmation, and is there a way to get it back?
Thanks.
If you're using ADW, then you'll need ADWNotifier.
Thanks, but doesn't work with the Samsung email client.

It has killed my phone before. It obviously came up and was there for hours, and the screen just drained the battery. I also assume it prevented the phone sleeping. This was with the Xperia Arc.
There are settings that can prevent this, but then I found the situation fairly useless as the notification was not there when I wanted it. I could not find a method that suited me.
I have no bought (waiting delivery) one of those wristbands that vibrate when you get a notification, call, or leave your phone behind . I think that will work better for me. Still waiting for an Android watch that does not look like a brick on your wrist.

Maybe a little piece of rubber from the GPS antena...
I don't have any strange sound, and I shake it like hell...
The only thing that I saw that can get loose when I open my phone was that.
Or maybe its normal.
Seems u have an extra feature on ur phone. That's cool. Should be happy about it.

THe vibration Device Is like A little motor With A too big case (badly explained) and That gets power And shakes wildly To make The phone vibrate. I Think its that
Almost every newer phone has that problem, some say its because of the autofocus on the camera, other say its the result of a too big external sd card slot...
Fact is, that it's no problem for the performance of a phone, but just a small cosmetic fault...
If you look in other threads of different devices, you will see many of these posts, so just don't think about it.
Sorry for my bad english

So weird, I don't have such issue.
Or you can also reduce animation time, wish makes things seem like faster.
Settings > Developer Options >
Change to "Animation Scale to .5x for:
Window Animation Scale
Transition Animation Scale
Animator duration scale
=)

What kernel/ROM do you use? If you use CM 10.1 then this is a known bug.

Are you using lockscreen replacement app like widgetlocker or lockerpro? I too ha've noticed similar problem esp when I am using 3rd party apps.
The screen wakeup is worse if you are trying to turn it on with in few seconds of pressing power bbutton. Coming from iPhone I found that super annoying

I have noticed that my sleep/wake time increased after updating to .253.
It is most likely due to the phone being in deep sleep which is a good thing. Less battery waste.
But think of it this way: when your alarm rings in the morning do you get up instantly? lool

I'd imagine a lot of people who do gaming would appreciate the extra button. For me, not really an idea, but I'd like to use fingerprint to take pics. This has been done by a dev here, however AFAIK it doesn't work with the stock camera and that limits things.
But sure if I have any ideas I'll let you know.
Edit--ok just off top of my head--maybe a shortcut for call recording, screenshot, sleep, etc.
Not sure if this interests you or you're more of a game developer.
